Why does your body stubbornly store fat in certain spots no matter how much you exercise? Turns out, it's not about willpower or genetics - it's your hormones calling the shots. In this episode, Sarah Williams reveals the hidden connections between hormone imbalances and where your body decides to pack on pounds. On Fuel Different, we break down how cortisol from chronic stress creates that stubborn upper belly fat, why love handles actually signal insulin resistance developing, and how your adrenals mess with calcium distribution throughout your body. You'll discover why exercise creates a delayed fat-burning response that happens 6-8 hours later during deep sleep, and learn to read your body's fat storage patterns like a roadmap to what's really going wrong hormonally. This isn't about quick fixes - it's about understanding the root causes so you can actually address them. 📍 Chapters: [00:00] Introduction with Sarah Williams [01:30] How hormones control fat storage patterns [04:00] Cortisol and upper belly fat connection [07:00] Love handles as insulin resistance warning signs [10:00] The exercise and sleep fat-burning cycle [12:00] Reading your body's hormone signals 🔍 Topics: wellness, fitness, nutrition, mental health, medicine, doctors ⭐ Ready to understand your body better? Today, I want to give you a really good and inexpensive tip for hair growth or thicker hair. While I do sell different hair growth products, today, I just want to give you a simple tip to help promote hair growth. My #1 tip for hair growth and thicker hair is to consume gelatin. You could use either gelatin, unflavored and unsweetened Jell-O, or hydrolyzed collagen. How gelatin can potentially help increase hair growth: • It’s 99% protein • It has amino acids and peptides • It increases blood flow and blood volume In a few interesting studies, they saw a 50% increase in hair growth, a substantial increase in the diameter of the hair, and an increase in the number of hairs. Gelatin may help provide the raw material needed and boost blood flow to add some additional help when it comes to hair growth—even if there is an autoimmune component or genetic weakness. You may want to try 10 to 14 grams (1 Tbsp) of gelatin powder per day with L-cysteine or NAC and saw palmetto. Let’s talk about tooth decay and how to prevent cavities naturally. Sugary food left on your teeth is food for bacteria that thrive on the sugar and make acids, leading to tooth decay. According to the American Dental Association, to prevent tooth decay in children and adults, you need to: • Brush twice a day • Floss your teeth once a day • See the dentist on a regular basis • Limit snacking • Consume a well-balanced diet • Use fluoride and dental sealants (plastic coating) • Keep added sugar to a minimum What is a “balanced diet?” In many cases, this means including grains or starches in your diet. Diets that include sugar, grains, and starch can lead to cavities. There is an enzyme in your mouth that helps break down starch and inhibits damaging acids from being produced. This enzyme is dependent on B vitamins, especially B1. Sugar, carbs, and starches deplete vitamin B1. The more deficient you are in B1, the more you’re going to deplete the important enzyme that protects your teeth. Other things, like bicarbonates, also help neutralize harmful acids in your mouth naturally. In my opinion, to get rid of cavities, you need to address the underlying cause. You have to stop consuming sugar and starches. The ketogenic diet has many benefits beyond weight loss, including promoting good oral health—and it’s great for adults and children!
