What You Need to Know S3E83

What happens when years of dieting, sugar cravings, and an addictive relationship with food collide with the search for lasting health and food freedom? In this episode of Carnivore Evolution, Mark and Victoria welcome Jessica Oar, a food addiction specialist, health coach, and strength trainer, to discuss her personal journey from binge-restrict dieting to Carnivore, and recovery from food addiction. Jess shares how understanding the relationship between food, behavior, and metabolism transformed her coaching approach. The conversation explores food addiction versus food noise, emotional and ritualistic cravings, the challenges of carbohydrate reintroduction, and why addressing underlying behaviors matters beyond simply changing what you eat. The discussion also examines women’s health, stress, sleep, circadian rhythms, hormonal balance, strength training, reverse dieting, and the importance of adequate nutrition. Jess explains how she approaches clients individually, using elimination diets, gradual transitions, and personalized coaching to help them understand their bodies and develop a healthier relationship with food. They also discuss GLP-1 medications, food cravings, and the value of learning about your own nutritional needs rather than relying exclusively on appetite suppression. Jess shares her current Carnivore lifestyle, including her two-meal-a-day routine, approach to eating enough, and experience with improved energy, mental clarity, and joint comfort. Whether you’re struggling with food addiction, persistent cravings, weight-loss frustration, or navigating your own Carnivore journey, this episode offers a thoughtful conversation about food, behavior, and finding a sustainable path toward better health. Coach Jiani Challenges the Fitness Industry with Carnivore S3E82

Jiani Mazza, a lifelong fitness professional challenges everything he was taught about nutrition, training, and body composition. He walks us through his personal experience with the Carnivore diet, fat adaptation, bodybuilding, recovery, and long-term health. In this episode of Carnivore Evolution, Mark talks with Sydney-based coach Jiani, a personal trainer with more than 15 years of experience and a background in boxing, soccer, powerlifting, and bodybuilding. Jiani shares his journey from years of high-carbohydrate eating, supplements, and conventional fitness nutrition to a Carnivore lifestyle that transformed how he approaches food, training, recovery, and body composition. The conversation explores the difference between nutritional ketosis and true fat adaptation, the realities of bodybuilding without carbohydrates, the so-called anabolic window, training volume, recovery, cardio, and why Jiani believes coaches need to focus on long-term health rather than simply getting clients results. He also discusses his experience preparing a bodybuilder for competition using a Carnivore approach and why he believes learning to understand your own body is essential. For Jiani, the goal isn’t simply to look good. It’s about developing sustainable habits, preserving health, and giving people the “light bulb moments” that can change how they think about nutrition and training. In this deeply personal episode of the Carnivore Evolution Podcast, Paul shares his journey through the devastating loss of his life partner, Brian. He describes the grief, survivor’s guilt, and different approaches he explored, including therapy, grief support, exercise, sunlight, sleep, and ketogenic and Carnivore nutrition. Today, Paul connects with mental health professionals exploring ketogenic approaches, sharing what he has learned about the relationship between nutrition, metabolic health, and mental health. He also discusses dietary fat, nutritional ketosis, and why he believes physical and psychological health are deeply interconnected. Serena Tells Her Truth S3E80

Serena Musick shares an incredibly honest story of how the Carnivore diet transformed her relationship with food after decades of eating disorders, restriction, and food obsession. At 53, Serena had spent much of her life battling disordered eating and what she describes as relentless “food noise.” Her journey to Carnivore began unexpectedly, after a severe, lingering taste and smell disorder made most foods unbearable. Steak and burgers were among the few foods she could tolerate - and that simple starting point eventually led her to discover the Carnivore community. Five and a half years later, Serena says Carnivore has given her something she had rarely experienced before: peace and freedom around food. But her story also challenges some of the common advice in the Carnivore community. She openly discusses under-eating, fasting, weight regain, calorie tracking, protein versus fat, dairy, body composition, ketosis, glucose and ketone monitoring, and why women may need a different approach as they move closer to their goals. Serena also shares the mistakes she has made along the way - including experimenting with sugar - and what she learned about addiction, moderation, maintenance, and finding an approach that actually works for her. This is a candid conversation about healing your relationship with food, taking responsibility for your choices, experimenting intelligently, and discovering what YOUR Carnivore lifestyle needs to look like. Overall Theme: From eating disorders and food obsession to freedom, self-experimentation, and a peaceful relationship with food through Carnivore. The Royal 👑 Transformation S3E79

Shelli, The Queen of Carni In this episode of Carnivore Evolution, Victoria Olson and Mark Ennis welcome health coach Shelli Murray aka The Queen of Carni - for a potent conversation about transformation, healing, mindset, and finding freedom from decades of diet culture. Shelli shares her remarkable journey from lifelong struggles with obesity, binge eating, anxiety, depression, diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and repeated failed diets to discovering a Carnivore diet that changed her life. But Shelli’s message goes far beyond weight loss. She explains why she believes healing the body, restoring metabolic health, controlling food noise, embracing fat, and developing the right mindset are far more important than obsessing over calories and perfection. The conversation also explores making Carnivore affordable, overcoming food addiction and social pressure, fat adaptation, listening to your body’s signals, experimenting with foods, and why starting where you are - rather than trying to become “perfect” overnight - can make all the difference. Shelli also discusses her books, ‘This Is Not About Weight Loss’, and ‘Girl, Come Eat!’, her dynamic interactive approach to Carnivore cooking, and her mission to help people - especially women - build a sustainable relationship with food. Her message is simple and powerful: start where you are, show up for yourself, celebrate the wins, and take it one plate at a time. And Got His Life Back S3E78

Ron Karle has lost more than 260 pounds on a Carnivore diet - and his transformation goes far beyond the number on the scale. After reaching 472 pounds, Ron had become severely limited by his weight. Walking was difficult, arthritis and joint pain restricted his movement, he struggled with carpal tunnel syndrome, and everyday tasks such as putting on his socks, cutting his toenails, shopping for groceries, and climbing stairs had become major challenges. Then, in April 2024, Ron decided to try Carnivore. Within weeks, the scale began moving faster than it had during years of calorie restriction. As the weight came off, Ron experienced dramatic improvements in mobility and quality of life. He went from a 64-inch waist-size pant to a 40, from 6XL shirts to large, and from barely being able to walk to regularly taking mile-long walks, shopping for himself, shoveling snow, and playing guitar for hours again. In this episode, Ron shares what happened, what he eats, how he approaches Carnivore long-term, his experience with cravings and Carnivore-friendly treats, and why he believes people struggling with severe obesity need a different approach than simply being told to “eat less and move more.” We also discuss the controversial question of exercise and obesity, metabolic health, sugar and artificial sweeteners, sustainable Carnivore eating, and the importance of sharing real-world experiences. Most importantly, Ron’s story is a powerful reminder that sometimes the biggest transformation isn’t simply losing weight - it’s getting your life back. Clarifying Carnivore Confusion S3E78

In this episode of the Carnivore Evolution Podcast, Mark and Victoria welcome Sarah back for a deep dive into one of the most confusing issues in the carnivore space: why some people struggle on carnivore, and whether adding carbohydrates is really the answer. Sarah shares her perspective on dietary fat, dairy, insulin, appetite, protein requirements, muscle building, fasting, electrolytes, meal timing, and the importance of individualizing a carnivore approach. They also discuss why protein—not simply dietary fat—should remain a major focus, the difference between genuine hunger and cravings, and why “bulking” with carbohydrates can create the illusion of muscle gain through glycogen, water, and fat. The conversation also tackles the growing confusion around what “carnivore” actually means, the problem with one-size-fits-all advice from influencers and coaches, transitioning away from processed foods, fat adaptation, carbohydrate cravings, oxalate dumping, herbs and spices, and making carnivore sustainable for the long term. Sarah also explains her work with clients and her Neural Reset Technique practice in Costa Rica. Overall theme: Cutting through carnivore confusion and learning how to individualize the diet for metabolic health, appetite control, body composition, performance, and long-term sustainability. What We’re Not Being Told S3E77

In this enlightening episode of Carnivore Evolution, Kristina Cook returns to share the extraordinary story of how changing her family’s diet transformed the health of her children, most dramatically her daughter Genevieve, who’d been diagnosed with treatment-resistant bipolar disorder, and spent 16 weeks in a children’s hospital. Kristina describes discovering the work of Dr. Christopher M. Palmer and the connection between metabolic health, nutrition, and mental health. She explains why she believes parents need to look beyond diagnoses and medications, and start asking a more fundamental question: What are we feeding the brain? Kristina discusses food addiction, ultra-processed foods, the gut-brain connection, metabolic health, parenting, and the importance of taking personal responsibility for health. She also shares why her family ultimately left their home and moved to a farm to become more connected to their food and local farmers. Victoria and Mark explore the resistance surrounding nutritional approaches to mental health, the challenges parents face, and Kristina’s mission through her Better Humans Project to educate families and make health information more accessible. This is ultimately a conversation about hope, parental empowerment, real food, and taking back control of our and our children’s health. She Knew She Had to Change | Carnivore Was the Answer S3E76

What happens when you know your health is heading in the wrong direction, and decide it’s time to change? Victoria talks with Barb Taylor about her remarkable four-year Carnivore journey. When Barb started Carnivore, she was overweight, taking three blood-pressure medications, dealing with hypothyroidism and rising blood sugar, with a family history of Type 2 diabetes. The changes came quickly. Her digestion and breathing improved, her blood pressure dropped enough to discontinue all three medications, and her A1C fell from 6.5 to 5.6. Her blood glucose dropped from 158 to 111. And then came the weight loss: 93 pounds, and counting. Barb discovered that dairy was holding back her progress. After removing it, she began losing weight again following a nearly two-year plateau. Victoria and Barb discuss: * 93-pound weight loss and no blood-pressure medications * Improved blood sugar, A1C, digestion, breathing and energy * Hypothyroidism and thyroid treatment * Dairy, weight-loss plateaus and breaking a two-year stall * Intermittent fasting and naturally losing the need for breakfast * Simple, affordable Carnivore eating * Managing blood pressure and salt sensitivity * Eating Carnivore at restaurants and on the go * Finding support and making Carnivore sustainable * And more Most importantly, Barb shares what changed beyond the numbers: more energy, fewer aches and pains, better sleep, easier mornings - and feeling and looking much younger. This is Barb’s personal experience, not medical advice, but her four years on Carnivore offer plenty of food for thought. Sometimes the simplest approach is the one that finally works. She Took Control of Her Health S3E74

Kat joins the Carnivore Evolution podcast to share the remarkable health journey that eventually led her to a carnivore lifestyle. After years of being active and athletic without worrying about her weight, Kat’s health began changing in her 40s. She struggled with weight gain, fibroids, severe kidney stones, and other health issues while following what she believed was a healthy lifestyle. She was eventually diagnosed with fatty liver disease despite not drinking alcohol. Her search for answers began with keto and eventually led her to carnivore. In this wide-ranging lively conversation, Kat shares, among other topics: • Her journey from athletic childhood and vegetarianism, to keto and carnivore • 20 years of kidney stones, and what she learned about oxalates • Her struggles with weight, fatty liver, fibroids, and other health issues • Feeling dismissed by doctors, and why she ultimately took greater control of her health • Why she refused a statin, and began questioning conventional health advice • How she lost 28 pounds in two months without traditional exercise • Why reducing inflammation and simply walking is a better starting point than intense exercise Kat also discusses the influence of the food, pharmaceutical, and health industries, her concerns about conventional nutritional advice, and her experience challenging the information provided by AI. Most importantly, this conversation comes back to one central idea: Start where you are, keep it simple, and find an approach you can actually sustain. You don’t have to be perfect or wealthy to start changing your health. What Carnivore Changed | Better Health. Better Life S3E75

In this compelling, evidence-rich story of transformation, Victoria talks with Fiona from Queensland, Australia, who shares her and her husband’s remarkably successful two-year experience with the Carnivore diet. Fiona tells how difficult childhood experiences influenced her relationship with food, how years of weight gain happened after marriage, despite her and her husband being convinced they were eating a “healthy” diet, and how they ultimately discovered the Carnivore diet. She describes losing 20 kilos/44 lbs herself, while her husband lost 35 kilos/77 lbs, and the many unexpected, great health improvements they experienced like relieved pain, increased mobility, improved sleep and mood, greater energy, and overall positive quality of life. Fiona has come off six medications, and her arthritis and plantar fasciitis pain is gone. She tells of her husband’s dramatic improvement from longtime chronic back pain and recurrent migraines. Fiona describes their transition to eating meat, eggs, seafood and other animal foods, and how their Carnivore lifestyle has surprisingly transformed what they are able to do physically. The conversation also explores cholesterol, high LDL, medical advice, CAC scoring, NMR lipoprotein testing, finding affordable sources of quality meat, intermittent fasting, feeding pets a raw diet, and why Fiona and her husband say they will never go back to eating their former way. Most importantly, Fiona shares a profound message: Carnivore has given them back the energy and physical ability to live their lives optimally. Why He Quit Counting Calories S3E71

From chronic pain, weight struggles, and constant hunger to better health, energy, and satiety through a gradual transition to carnivore. Eugene shares his three-year journey, why calorie restriction repeatedly failed him, how he transitioned from a conventional diet → keto → carnivore, and what changed physically and mentally along the way. ## Video Description # From Chronic Pain to Carnivore: Eugene’s 60+ Pound Transformation Eugene spent years struggling with weight gain, chronic pain, poor sleep, numb hands, chest pain, blurry vision, cravings, and low energy. Traditional calorie restriction stopped working—and the harder he tried to eat less, the harder it became to maintain. His journey eventually took him from a conventional diet to keto and finally to carnivore. Over time, he lost more than 60 pounds, his chronic symptoms dramatically improved, his cravings came under control, and he discovered a completely different relationship with food and hunger. In this episode, Eugene explains what he learned about calories, insulin, satiety, electrolytes, fat adaptation, the carnivore transition, cheat days, seed oils, and why a gradual approach worked for him. He also shares the practical side of living carnivore in Barcelona, eating at restaurants, adjusting meal frequency with the seasons, and why he believes carnivore can benefit both people dealing with health problems and those simply looking to improve physical and mental performance. A powerful personal story about changing the way you eat—and changing the way you feel. This conversation is personal experience and general discussion, not medical advice. Anyone with a medical condition or taking medication should work with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional. NRT Neuro Reset Technique | Jessica Hendrad & Anthony Savage S3E68

What happens when an injury changes the way your nervous system controls movement? Victoria talks with Jessica Henrard, a Neuro Reset Technique (NRT) specialist, and Anthony Savage, who suffered devastating injuries after a staircase collapsed beneath him. Both are members of the Carnivore community. Jessica explains how NRT works with the brain and nervous system to improve muscle recruitment, mobility, strength, and motor control, and why some lingering limitations may be neurological rather than physical. Anthony shares his recovery journey, and his hope that NRT can help restore the strength he hasn’t fully regained. Jessica also discusses Professor Bart Kay, whose 20 year shoulder injury she helped resolve using this technique. Jessica shares plans for a limited group program starting in October 2026, with online and in-person sessions teaching people to test and strengthen their own nervous system.
