    Dr. Andreas Eenfeldt - 'A Global Food Revolution'

    Dr. Andreas Eenfeldt is a Swedish medical doctor based in Karlstad who specialises in family medicine He is primarily interested in how food and lifestyle can improve a patient's health and reduce their medication needs. In 2007, Dr. Eenfeldt started the blog “Kostdoktorn” – a Swedish word that means “Diet Doctor”. The goal was to make it simple for anyone to learn about low carb, high fat nutrition and discuss their results. It rapidly became the most popular health blog in Sweden and one of the most popular blogs in all categories. In the spring of 2011 the English version of the Diet Doctor blog was launched. It was not immediately popular and for several years it mostly contained translated articles from the Swedish site. Slowly, things started to gather momentum. Income from book sales and frequent lecturing allowed Dr. Eenfeldt to gather a small team of co-workers and the website began to grow in popularity worldwide.     Peter Brukner OAM, MBBS, FACSP, FACSM, FASMF, FFSEM is a specialist sports and exercise physician and the founding partner at the Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre in Melbourne.     Dr. Jay Wortman - 'Undoing Atkins: A Cautionary Tale'

    Dr. Jay Wortman studied Biology and Chemistry at the University of Alberta and Medicine at the University of Calgary. He completed the Family Medicine residency at UBC before starting a private practice in Vancouver. He began combining that with part-time clinics at the STI/HIV the BC Centre for Disease Control where he eventually became the full-time Associate Director. He moved on the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch of Health Canada where he held senior management positions in Ottawa and Vancouver. In 1992, Dr. Wortman developed type 2 diabetes and quickly discovered that it could be controlled by restricting dietary carbohydrates. He went on to do clinical research on low-carbohydrate diets and became a little bit famous for a study he did in the Namgis First Nation of Alert Bay which was the subject of the CBC documentary film, "My Big Fat Diet".     A/Prof. Sarah Zaman - 'Ketogenic Diet in the Management of People with Heart Failure'

    Associate Professor Sarah Zaman is an Academic Interventional Cardiologist at Westmead Hospital and the Westmead Applied Research Centre, University of Sydney, Australia. Sarah has been recognised as a national leader in academic cardiology as recipient of the prestigious National Heart Foundation Future Leader Fellowship and NSW Elite Post-doctoral Grant. She has also been recognised internationally within interventional cardiology; having been selected from a world-wide application process to the SCAI-ELM Fellowship. A/Prof Zaman has a PhD from the University of Sydney, targeting prevention of sudden cardiac death. She leads a Women’s Heart Disease Research Program at the University of Sydney focused on healthcare inequities in heart attack care for women and female-predominant cardiac conditions, such as spontaneous coronary artery dissection. She leads clinical studies and has more than $2 million in competitive grant funding.     Prof. Zoltán Sarnyai - 'Ketogenic Therapy in Psychiatry'

    Prof Zoltán Sarnyai is a medically-trained PhD neuroscientist with an active research program in the neurobiological mechanisms of stress and psychiatric disorders, including drug addiction, schizophrenia and depression. He is currently a Professor at James Cook University. Prof. Sarnyai was previously University Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacology, University of Cambridge and a Fellow of Pembroke College, where he was Director of Studies for Medicine. He trained at McLean Hospital at Harvard Medical School and at The Rockefeller University, supported by the DuPont-Warren Award and a NARSAD Young Investigator Award, respectively.     Dr. David Unwin - 'What predicts drug-free type 2 diabetes remission?'

    Dr. David Unwin is GP based in Southport in the United Kingdom.     Dr. Karen Dwyer - 'SGLT2 Inhibitors - Optimising Their Use'

    Dr. Karen Dwyer graduated from The University of Melbourne in 1994 and completed physician training in Nephrology in 2001. She completed her PhD in 2004 through the University of Melbourne and then spent two years in Boston, USA. As a nephrologist and transplant physician, Dr. Dwyer has a keen interest in metabolic health. In 2020 she became a fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine and is undertaking training through the Society of Metabolic Health Practitioners. Karen is passionate about improving the health and well-being of the community taking a holistic and integrated approach with an emphasis on lifestyle management. Until recently, Dr. Dwyer was Clinical Director at Kidney Health Australia and Professor of Medicine at Deakin University. Karen has published over 100 peer review articles with her research interest being adnosine signalling in kidney transplantation. In 2021 she was presented the inaugural Burnstock Lecture for her contribution to the field. The highlight of Karen's clinical career was as the lead physician for Australia's first hand transplant in 2011 which was recognised with Quality Award by St. Vincent's Health Australia. Karen has served on the council and executive of the Transplantation Society of Australia and New Zealand and is currently the Oceania representative on council for the International Transplant Society.
