They Are Deceiving You About Acid Reflux

I know firsthand how troublesome heartburn and acid reflux can be. Antacids such as TUMS can provide temporary relief but are not long-term solutions. In this video, I'll show you how to stop heartburn naturally with the best acid reflux remedies. Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) 0:00 Introduction: Apple cider vinegar vs. TUMS 1:53 What is heartburn? 4:27 Beetroot juice powder ad 4:54 Symptoms of low stomach acid 10:03 Apple cider vinegar for heartburn and acid reflux 10:49 How to stop acid reflux and heartburn 14:39 Root cause of low stomach acid 16:11 Gastritis and ulcers GERD, acid reflux, and heartburn aren’t caused by too much acid. These related conditions are actually caused by a lack of acid, or stomach acid that's not very acidic. You can not fix these problems by further depleting your stomach acid! Antacids only address the symptoms and not the root cause. Symptoms of low stomach acid include: •GERD •Heartburn •SIBO •Increased susceptibility to gastric cancer •Anemia •Abdominal pressure •Reflux •Less tone in the stomach valve Problems with the autonomic nervous system can also affect the valve at the top of the stomach, leading to heartburn. In this case, vitamin B1 can be a helpful solution. Low stomach acid can also cause problems with H. pylori. Diluted apple cider vinegar helps address acid reflux symptoms for many people. Dilute 1 to 2 tablespoons in 8 to 12 ounces of water and drink with a straw. Betaine hydrochloride is one of the best home remedies for acid reflux. Research has shown that it can restore normal gastric acidity levels within 30 minutes! Take 2 to 7 before a meal. Vitamin D and magnesium are also vital for adequate stomach acid levels. The following factors are often at the root of low stomach acid, contributing to GERD, heartburn, and acid reflux: •Junk food •Frequent eating •Low salt •Low zinc, iodine, B1, and magnesium •Low protein intake •Type 2 diabetes If ACV or betaine hydrochloride makes your problem worse, you may have gastritis or an ulcer. Zinc carnosine is one of the best remedies! Your Waist Size Is IMPORTANT!

Did you know that your waist circumference can predict your risk of severe health conditions more than your actual weight? Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) Just so you know, my full line of high-quality supplements is available on Amazon — search Dr. Berg Supplements. 0:00 Introduction: Waist circumference and health 0:24 Visceral fat 1:13 Visceral fat vs. subcutaneous fat 2:44 Belly fat 3:06 Check out my video on how to get rid of visceral fat! In this video, I’m going to tell you why your waist circumference is more important than your weight. A woman’s waist should be less than 35 inches, and a man’s should be less than 40 inches. Every inch increases the risk of premature death. Visceral fat is fat that surrounds the organs and has several negative health consequences, including the following: •Sends signals to increase inflammation in the body •Contributes to insulin resistance •Hard to detect •2x-3x greater risk for heart disease •Increases risk of cancer, especially of the breast and colon Visceral fat is not the same as subcutaneous fat. Visceral fat is hormonal fat caused by cortisol or insulin. Consuming carbohydrates and frequent eating can spike insulin, leading to visceral fat. After menopause, women often lose their waistline due to a shift in hormones. Estrogen and progesterone decrease while cortisol increases. This also contributes to a loss of muscle mass. Body mass index (BMI) is not the best indicator of your overall health because it doesn’t reflect whether a person has significant muscle mass or fat. Some belly fat looks like visceral fat but is actually related to cirrhosis of the liver. Adjust Your Breathing and Lower Your Cortisol

Today we're going to talk about how you can change your breathing to help stop stress and anxiety. You can also use this simple trick to help with asthma and even to help you fall asleep easier. When someone is stressed, they often think they need more oxygen. But they really need the right balance of oxygen and CO2—CO2 actually helps increase oxygen absorption. The diaphragm is a fascinating and important muscle controlled by the phrenic nerves. It constantly works to deliver oxygen to the body and balance oxygen and CO2. The diaphragm works automatically, but it's possible to bypass the involuntary or automatic mechanism and control your breathing. When you change your breathing pattern, you're actively taking over the automatic system and putting it in your control. Any time you're in a fight or flight state, your breathing isn't balanced. So, we need to balance the breathing pattern. You can use this hack throughout the day for five minutes whenever you're feeling stressed or before bed to help you sleep better. To do this simple breathing trick, breathe in through your nose for four seconds and then breathe out for four seconds. It's best to do this while breathing through your diaphragm, not your chest. To take it to the next level, if you're in a major stress state, breathe in for four seconds and breathe out for seven to eight seconds. Let’s talk about how to get rid of facial hair if you’re a female. The top cause of facial hair in females is PCOS. But, there are other potential causes, including a tumor on the adrenal glands or pituitary gland or Cushing’s syndrome. Symptoms of PCOS: 1. Heavy cycles 2. No cycles 3. Acne 4. Infertility 5. Insulin resistance The top cause of PCOS is high androgens. There is a lot of conflicting information on the internet and various suggestions on how to help improve this condition—but these recommendations can be confusing. I believe that excess insulin increases androgens, so high insulin is the root cause of PCOS, which then leads to facial hair. In my opinion, a good solution would be to lower insulin. How to lower insulin: 1. Lower your carb intake 2. Cut out snacks and decrease the frequency of your meals Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 57, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. There is a certain disease that is so ignored yet incredibly common—understanding it will help explain a lot about your health. This disease is hyperinsulinemia, a condition where you have too much insulin in your blood. Issues associated with hyperinsulinemia: • Frequent urination at night • Fatigue • Carb cravings • Inability to go long periods without eating • Belly fat • Slow metabolism • Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease • Brain fog • Lack of concentration • Mood disorders • Dementia • Increased risk of cancer, heart attacks, clots, and strokes • Nerve problems • Lowered immune system • High LDL cholesterol (small dense particle size) • High triglycerides • High blood pressure • PCOS • Diabetes type 2 • Gallstones Doctors don't often test for hyperinsulinemia—just high blood sugar. But you can have high insulin levels for years and not have high blood sugar levels. High-carb diets, sugar, and frequent eating all contribute to high insulin. So, how do some people consume a lot of carbs and sugar and still have normal blood glucose levels? Well, insulin is working hard to quickly remove the sugar from the blood to give you normal blood sugar levels. But, insulin is just as toxic as sugar in high amounts and can lead to insulin resistance, diabetes, and other health conditions. Ask your doctor about a fasting insulin test to better understand your insulin levels. While you wait on the test, you can start promoting healthy insulin and blood sugar levels by getting on the Healthy Keto diet and doing intermittent fasting. The #1 Most Perilous Meal in the World

What is the #1 most dangerous meal in the world? Many people consume this meal without knowing it includes dangerous foods that can kill you! In this video, find out about the meal that contains the most dangerous ingredients for your health and why you’ll want to stop eating these foods immediately! Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) 0:00 Introduction: The most dangerous foods in the world 0:12 PAHs 0:34 AGEs 1:00 Sodium nitrate 1:18 Roundup ready 2:41 Byproduct of caramel coloring 3:00 Aluminum toxicity 3:40 Potassium bromate 3:54 The most dangerous meal These dangerous ingredients are found in the #1 most dangerous meal. Can you guess what it is? 1. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are byproducts created when you cook, char, or smoke something. Cooking at high temperatures creates these compounds, which have the potential to alter or mutate your DNA and can trigger cancer of the stomach or colon. 2. When you combine sugar with protein, you create AGEs (advanced glycation end products). These sticky proteins found in foods like barbequed meat can cause advanced aging, inflammation, diabetes, Alzheimer's, and other chronic diseases. 3. Sodium nitrate is found in processed meat like bacon and ham. When heated, it turns into a carcinogen, which can trigger cancer. 4. Residue from the weed killer Roundup Ready is often found in GMO foods such as soy, corn, canola, and cottonseed. Roundup Ready contains the ingredient glyphosate, which is considered a carcinogen by the World Health Organization. Glyphosate also disrupts the microbiome. 5. Caramel coloring, which is used in barbeque sauces and sodas, produces a carcinogenic byproduct called 4-MEI. 6. Aluminum can leach into the brain, increasing your risk for Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. 7. Potassium bromate is found in barbeque sauces and is often used to increase fluffiness in bread products. This ingredient has been banned in 60 countries, but it’s not banned in the U.S. The most dangerous meal includes barbequed meat that’s been grilled, covered in barbeque sauce, and typically cooked on or covered with aluminum foil. Many types of meat served at barbeques contain nitrates and are often wrapped in a bun or served with bread. This meal is usually served with a soda in an aluminum can or plastic bottle and served on a styrofoam plate. These Clues Reveal a Hidden Hormonal Imbalance

Did you know you can identify a hormonal imbalance just by looking in the mirror? In this video, I’ll share several visible signs of hormonal imbalance and the specific hormones they relate to. Whether you’re dealing with weight gain, acne, hair-thinning, or fatigue, know what to look for and what you can do about it. Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) 0:00 Introduction: 7 signs of hormonal imbalance you can see 0:20 The thyroid gland 1:37 Androgens and hormone imbalance signs 2:40 Cortisol 3:07 High estrogen symptoms 3:55 Growth hormone and visible signs of hormone imbalance 4:38 Progesterone 4:56 Insulin Hormone imbalance signs are often very easy to detect, just by looking in the mirror! The thyroid gland is small but controls your digestive system and metabolism. If your thyroid hormones are too high, you may notice bulging eyes, a fast metabolism, significant weight loss, and excessive sweating. A hypothyroid will cause weight gain and hair loss. Around 90% of hypothyroidism is an issue related to the immune system called Hashimoto’s. If you have Hashimoto’s, you’ll want to avoid gluten and increase selenium and vitamin D3. Androgens include testosterone and DHT. High levels of androgens can cause acne, specifically around the jawline and on the back. Women may experience a deepened voice, increased facial hair, and may also notice hair thinning. Men with high androgens may experience balding. To keep your androgen levels normal, avoid carbohydrates, sugar, and starches, and avoid frequent eating. Also, use a high-quality water filter to avoid plastics. High cortisol symptoms include a round face (cortisol face), buffalo hump, and weight gain in the midsection. High cortisol can exaggerate stretch marks in women and speed up aging. High estrogen symptoms include a puffy face, spider veins, skin tags, and melasma. Low estrogen can make you appear older and cause wrinkles. Cholesterol is vital for estrogen production, so certain drugs and low-fat diets could cause your estrogen levels to decrease. When growth hormone declines, you may look older and gain weight in the midsection. Intense exercise for short durations, a low-carb diet, and more sleep can increase growth hormone. High progesterone is rare but can cause fluid retention. Low progesterone is much more common and can cause a puffy face. You might also appear dull and tired, and may experience acne. High insulin symptoms include belly fat, skin tags, and swollen eyes. Low insulin can cause excessive weight loss, cravings for carbs, and constant hunger. Sugar, starch, and frequent eating trigger insulin. Disclaimer: Dr. Eric Berg received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1988. Widespread Ingredients That Will Kill You!

These 4 foods can shave years off of your lifespan! Find out about the dangerous ingredients found in 99% of the foods that kill. In this video, we’re going to talk about 4 common ingredients found in 99% of all junk foods that can shorten your life. You won’t understand which foods to avoid until you know the ingredients. Hydroxypropyl distarch phosphate, interesterified soybean oil, hydrolyzed corn oil, maltodextrin, dextrose, and dextrin are chemical names for common junk food ingredients. Companies use these names to cause confusion. It’s important to look beyond nutrition facts and read the ingredients because not all calories are the same. Calories from high fructose corn syrup are not the same as fructose from fruit. Synthetic starches differ from the starch found in vegetables, and there’s a big difference between cane sugar and synthetic sugars like glucose syrup. Check the ingredient list and avoid these foods! 1. Sugar 2. Starches 3. Seed oils 4. Refined proteins Soy protein isolates and A1 beta-casein create inflammation and should be avoided. You’ll also want to avoid wheat gluten. Print out my convenient cutout card to keep in your wallet so you’ll know which foods to avoid on the go! Are you salt-sensitive? Learn more about salt sensitivity and the dangers of too much sodium. DATA: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4530669 https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/full/10.1161/01.HYP.0000154194.49725.b7 0:00 Introduction: The dangers of too much sodium 0:18 Is sodium bad for you? 0:43 Understanding sodium and potassium 2:26 How to handle salt sensitivity 3:58 Learn more about potassium-rich foods! Let's talk about salt sensitivity and the dangers of consuming too much salt. Consuming too much sodium can lead to certain health problems, including: • Heart disease • High blood pressure • Stroke • Edema • Increased mortality The body tends to hold sodium when a person has a potassium deficiency. You can even have salt sensitivity, which causes you to retain sodium and water. But, again, this could be caused by a potassium deficiency. Sodium and potassium work together in the body. The daily requirements for sodium are 2300 mg, but the daily requirements for potassium are 4700 mg. You really need twice as much potassium as sodium. Many people aren't consuming enough potassium in their diet but consume a lot of sodium. A genetic problem can also cause some people to be salt sensitive. I believe one of the best things you can do for salt sensitivity is to increase your potassium. I don't think a low-salt diet is the answer. You don't want to end up having a potassium deficiency and a sodium deficiency. You need sodium and potassium to support the body in many different ways. If you're deficient in these key electrolytes, you could experience arrhythmias, fatigue, and weakness. Overall, you need sodium, but you need a lot more potassium. How to Lose Weight WITHOUT a Diet

Can you lose weight without dieting? In this video, I’ll share some weight loss tips that actually work and uncover the truth about weight loss without dietary changes. Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) ESSENTIAL DEFINITIONS FOR HEALTHY LIVING DOWNLOAD HERE: https://drbrg.co/4cHO7ZK 0:00 Introduction: How to lose weight without dieting 0:10 Exercise for weight loss 0:51 Ice baths for weight loss 2:55 Can you lose weight without diet changes? 3:45 Fat-burning tips 4:13 Reducing insulin to lose weight 4:48 Weight loss on the carnivore diet 5:09 Intermittent fasting and weight loss 6:00 Carbohydrates and fat-burning It's very difficult to lose even one pound of body fat without changing your diet. If you eat junk food, you’ll have to burn even more calories to burn extra fat. Weight loss is 15% exercise and 85% diet! You have to change your diet if you want to lose weight. There’s no way around it! Exercise improves fitness, muscle tone, and health, but it is not the key to weight loss and certainly won’t help you lose weight fast. If you want to lose fat and not just water weight, you have to keep insulin low. Decreasing insulin will also decrease your appetite and cravings. To reduce insulin, you must go on a low-carb diet! The carnivore diet involves eliminating all carbohydrates and eating meat, eggs, fish, and cheese. This simple diet can help you lose weight fast! Intermittent fasting is the key to fat loss. It can also help with other health problems, such as inflammation, high blood pressure, diabetes, and depression. Remember, carbs block fat burning. You can lose weight without changing your diet, but it won't be much! Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Do Chia Seeds Have ANY Benefits?

Chia seeds have been used for thousands of years. Watch this video to find out about their #1 benefit. Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) Just so you know, my full line of high-quality supplements is available on Amazon — search Dr. Berg Supplements. 0:00 Introduction: Chia seeds and omega-3s 1:30 Chia seeds nutrition facts 1:52 The real benefit of chia seeds 2:02 Chia seed pudding 3:32 Chia seeds and other foods for gut health In this video, we’re going to talk about some of the health benefits of chia seeds. Omega-3s have many benefits, including supporting heart health. Salmon and sardines are among the best omega-3 sources, but what about chia seeds? It’s been said that chia seeds are a better source of omega-3s if you compare them gram for gram, but they don’t contain DHA. Chia seeds contain ALA, and only 0.5% converts into DHA. Chia seeds have also been compared to eggs. An egg contains around 7 grams of protein, while chia seeds contain 4 grams. The protein found in eggs is the most bioavailable form of protein. Chia seeds contain vitamin E, vitamin C, B vitamins, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium. Research suggests that chia seeds are cardioprotective, help lower blood pressure, benefit your brain, and can even help thin your blood. Chia seeds contain soluble fiber, which is the most significant benefit of consuming them. To make a healthy chia pudding: 1. Mix 2 tablespoons of chia seeds with ½ cup of milk or unsweetened almond milk. 2. Stir the mixture until the seeds swell and form a gel. 3. Add kefir, berries, Greek yogurt, coconut cream, or nuts. The gel that forms when you mix chia seeds with liquid is an excellent food for your microbiome. Chia seeds can help with gut inflammation and constipation. They’re also very low in lectins. Chia seed gel contains polyphenols—plant chemicals that benefit your microbes. A healthy microbiome supports your mood, energy levels, and overall health. Consume chia seeds, fermented vegetables, sauerkraut, pickles, and kimchi regularly for a healthy microbiome.
