Nasa’s Artemis II mission took off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida last night, the first trip around the moon in over 50 years. The crew are in "safe, secure and in great spirits", a Nasa official confirmed in a post-launch press conference. President Donald Trump addressed the United States in a primetime televised speech from the White House, lasting roughly 20 minutes. He declared that the US’s "core objectives" in the war are "near completion" and said the military will hit Iran "extremely hard over the next two to three weeks". Radio DJ Scott Mills has released a statement following his sacking by the BBC after an allegation in relation to his “personal conduct”. Resident doctors, commonly referred to as junior doctors, are set to strike next week as no deal has been made with the government. President Donald Trump has said the US will leave Iran in "two or three weeks" regardless of whether a deal is done with Tehran. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, he suggested the US will take no responsibility for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, saying: "That's not for us – that'll be for France, for whoever's using the strait." An American journalist has been kidnapped in Baghdad, Iraq's interior ministry has said. A backbench Labour MP has had the whip removed, reportedly for recent comments about colleagues that have been described as "uncollegiate". More than a million people will be prescribed a weight loss jab to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes after the NHS’s spending watchdog approved the medication. Iran has confirmed two of its highest ranking security officials have been killed in Israeli strikes.
