Iran has fired missiles at Israel for the first time since a ceasefire was agreed in April, with Israel's air force retaliating in the past few hours. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targeted Northern Israel late on Sunday evening, and claimed in a statement "this operation is not a passing event, but rather the beginning of a full week of continuous strikes". Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said he would be willing to freeze the current battlefield lines in Ukraine as the "quickest way" to a peace agreement, in an exclusive interview with Yalda Hakim. Rise in NEETs | US and Iran exchange strikes | FIFA investigated over World Cup ticket prices
The number of young people not in education, employment or training - known as NEETs - is set to rise to 1.25 million unless urgent action is taken. An independent review has been carried out by former Labour health secretary Alan Milburn, who will present his findings today. He is set to warn that six in 10 NEETs between 16 and 24 have never had a job - this figure was four in 10 just 20 years ago. The US and Iran have exchanged fire as hopes for a ceasefire took a hit overnight. Iran's armed forces said an American airbase was targeted, adding: "The enemy knows that aggression will not go unanswered." Sir Tony Blair, Labour's most successful leader, has given a bleak assessment of the party's future. He has said the party must focus on policy not politics, and occupy the "radical centre". Thames Valley Police are investigating Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor over potential sex crimes, it's understood. Officers are assessing allegations that Jeffrey Epstein sent a non-British woman to the UK in 2010 for a sexual encounter with Andrew, but have yet to interview her.
