S05E09 | Lee Ford | The Cornwall Family Annihilation
In the ninth episode of British Murders Season 5, I tell the story of Lee Ford. In August/September 2000, Lee Ford murdered his 36-year-old wife Lesley Ford in Carnkie, Cornwall, along with four of her children from her first marriage. Lee initially buried all five bodies in a woodshed at the bottom of their garden before re-burying two of the bodies in a field in Treluswell, Cornwall. On May 24, 2001, Lee was handed five separate life sentences at Bristol Crown Court with a minimum term of 27 years. He will be eligible to apply for parole in October 2027. S05E08 | Nathan Maynard-Ellis and David Leesley | The Murder of Julia Rawson
In the eighth episode of British Murders Season 5, I tell the story of Nathan Maynard-Ellis and David Leesley. On May 11, 2019, Nathan Maynard-Ellis entered the Bottle & Cork pub in Dudley, West Midlands, where he met 42-year-old Julia Rawson. The pair left the pub at 2:00 am on May 12, 2019, and nobody saw Julia alive again. Nathan and his partner David murdered Julia before dismembering her into 11 pieces and scattering her body parts all over their home town of Tipton, West Midlands. S05E07 | John Taylor | The Murder of Leanne Tiernan
In the seventh episode of British Murders Season 5, I tell the story of John Taylor.⁣⁣⁣ On November 26, 2000, John Taylor abducted 16-year-old Leanne Tiernan from Houghley Gill in Bramley, Leeds, before strangling her to death at his home. John was initially handed two life sentences in July 2002 with a minimum term to serve of 20 years, but that was increased when several cold case reviews revealed that Leanne was not his first victim. In February 2003, John was handed two further life sentences and a 30-year minimum after pleading guilty to the rape of two women between 1988 and 1989. I welcome Dr Amanda Brown to the show in this interview episode. Dr Brown used to be a general practitioner with a comfortable, suburban practice before changing direction and working with prisoners. She has worked as a doctor in a teenage detention centre as well as Wormwood Scrubs and currently works at Bronzefield, the largest women-only prison in Europe. S05E06 | Jake Notman | The Manslaughter of Lauren Bloomer
In the sixth episode of British Murders Season 5, I tell the story of Jake Notman.⁣⁣⁣ On November 19, 2020, partners Jake Notman and Lauren Bloomer celebrated the release of the ninth generation video game console, the PlayStation 5. In preparation, Jake had purchased an edible brownie which they both ate shortly before bed. Jake, however, had a terrible trip, and in the early hours of November 20, 2020, he violently attacked and killed Lauren. Lauren recorded the entire attack on her phone. Jake Notman was found guilty of unlawful manslaughter and sentenced to 8 years and eight months imprisonment. Interview #4 | Shay Doyle (Former Soldier and Undercover Police Officer)
I welcome former British soldier and undercover police officer Shay Doyle to the show in this interview episode. Shay's police career spanned 17 years, and he was one of the UK's chosen few Level 1 undercover operatives. Posing as a professional criminal, he came face to face with some of Britain's most dangerous gangsters and was part of a hand-picked team chosen to hunt down the now-convicted murderer Dale Cregan. After being medically discharged from the police in 2020, Shay is now a mental health advocate working alongside professionals and organisations to tackle the stigma attached to mental health in high-risk and high-pressure roles. He is also a passionate activist against gun, gang and knife crime. S05E05 | Christopher Farrow | The Murder of Wendy Speakes
In the fifth episode of British Murders Season 5, I tell the story of Christopher Farrow.⁣⁣⁣ On March 15, 1994, 33-year-old Christopher tricked his way into the home of 51-year-old divorcee Wendy Speakes in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Christopher sexually assaulted Wendy before stabbing her a total of 9 times, killing her. A shoe fetishist, Christopher forced Wendy to wear a pair of blue mule shoes that he'd purchased from a local charity shop a few days earlier and placed a pair of Wendy's black stiletto's on her bedside table whilst he carried out the attack. The case remained unsolved for six years until advances in computer technology linked Christopher's fingerprint to one found at the crime scene. Christopher Farrow was handed a life sentence on November 14, 2000, with a minimum term to serve of 18 years. S05E04 | Harold Jones | The Murders of Freda Burnell and Florence Little

S05E03 | Colin Hatch | The Murder of Sean Williams
In the third episode of British Murders Season 5, I tell the story of Colin Hatch.⁣ On July 19, 1993, 21-year-old paedophile Colin Hatch snatched 7/8-year-old Sean Williams outside Norfolk Close tower block.⁣ Colin sexually assaulted Sean in the bedroom of his flat before suffocating him to death with a plastic bag, placing his body inside two bin bags and leaving it in the tower block's elevator. He was handed a life sentence on January 28, 1994, by Judge Nina Lowry, but no minimum term to serve was set. Colin Hatch was murdered on February 22, 2011, by fellow inmate Damien Fowkes at HMP Full Sutton. S05E02 | Brian Blackwell | The Murders of Sydney and Jackie Blackwell
In the second episode of British Murders Season 5, I tell the story of Brian Blackwell.⁣ On July 25, 2004, 18-year-old Brian Blackwell brutally murdered his parents, Sydney and Jackie Blackwell, with a claw hammer and a knife. ⁣He stabbed his parents a total of 50 times between them. After being diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) by three psychiatrists and two psychologists⁣, Brian was found guilty of two counts of manslaughter due to diminished responsibility. He was handed a life sentence on June 29, 2005, by Mr Justice Royce with a minimum term to serve of 12 years. As the result of a parole board hearing in 2016, Brian was released from Swinfen Hall Young Offender's Institution and is now a free man. I welcome criminologist and author Christopher Berry-Dee to the show in this interview episode. Christopher has written over 30 true crime books and frequently appears on TV documentaries as a leading authority on serial homicide. His 2003 book 'Talking with Serial Killers' has been translated into 8 languages and has sold over 1.5 million copies. Christopher was a researcher/interviewer for the acclaimed 12-part documentary series 'The Serial Killers', which aired in 1995, and has consulted on the cases of Fred & Rose West, Ian Brady & Myra Hindley and Dr Harold Shipman. Over the years Christopher has spoken to multiple serial killers including "Genesee River Killer" Arthur Shawcross, Aileen Wuornos, "The Yorkshire Ripper" Peter Sutcliffe, Harvey "The Hammer" Carignan and "The Roadside Strangler" Michael Ross. S05E01 | Russell Bishop | The ‘Babes in the Wood’ Murders of Nicola Fellows and Karen Hadaway

In the fourth volume of Killer British Murder Stories, I am told the story of Mark Twitchell by Bobbie Holmes of Killer Stories Podcast. Twitchell was convicted of first-degree murder on April 12, 2011, for the murder of Johnny Altinger. He was handed a life sentence with a minimum term to serve of 25 years. This case is notorious because Twitchell claims to have been inspired by fictional serial killer Dexter Morgan, the protagonist of the 'Dexter' book series and TV show. "The Bus Stop Killer" Levi Bellfield Pt. 2: The Murders
