Why I Couldn't Sleep: The Truth About My Dry Mouth Struggle | Episode 571

Why I Couldn't Sleep: The Truth About My Dry Mouth Struggle | Episode 571 Dry mouth is not just annoying. When it messes with your sleep, your voice, and your daily routine, it can quietly take a real toll on mental health. I’m Justin Alan Hayes, and I’m sharing a very personal chain reaction that started with a dentist appointment and turned into a bigger conversation about medication side effects, self-care, and staying steady when your body throws you a curveball. We talk through what happened after my dental hygienist pointed out chronic dry mouth and recommended a few common solutions: a mouth rinse, chewable lozenges, and dissolving discs meant to work overnight. Since I’m also wearing Invisalign retainers, I didn’t realize how much that could add to mouth dryness. The goal was simple: protect oral health and feel better. But after a few nights, I started waking up coughing with a rough, hoarse voice, like I had a cold. That sleep disruption raised a bigger question: how do you balance symptom relief with real rest, especially when you need your voice for filming and vocal work? From there, we zoom out to the mental side. When I miss the gym or can’t work at my normal pace, my mind starts counting the days and piling on pressure. We unpack how to stay grounded, how to reset a routine without shame, and why being “ready to restart” matters more than being perfect. If you’ve ever felt thrown off by a small health problem that turned into a motivation problem, you’ll recognize yourself here. If this resonates, subscribe, share the show with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find Voices for Voices. Don't Let Analytics Define Your Worth | Episode 570

Don't Let Analytics Define Your Worth | Episode 570 Your downloads spike, the compliments roll in, and suddenly it’s tempting to believe the hype. We’re celebrating a record-setting August for Voices for Voices, but we also slow down and talk honestly about what analytics can and cannot tell you. Numbers can be encouraging, but they’re still just a snapshot in time, and treating them like a scoreboard can quietly wreck your perspective. We walk through a simple way to think about podcast growth: like grades in school. One assignment does not define a student, and one “great month” does not define a show. What matters is the pattern over time and what you learn from it. We also dig into the challenge of ego and comparison, and why staying present in the moment helps you hold success with gratitude instead of arrogance. Along the way, we share a real-life lesson from the weight room with a guy named Taco, who put humility into one unforgettable line: the second you get a big head, someone comes along and lifts one more pound. That idea applies to creators, parents, leaders, and anyone trying to do meaningful work without losing themselves in metrics. If you’re building something and trying to stay grounded, this conversation is for you. If this resonates, subscribe, share the show with someone you care about, and leave a review so more people can find it. *Merch Shop: voices-for-voices.org/4h2xvA0 **Please Donate Today: LoveVoices.org, CashApp and Venmo ***Find our book here: Amazon: voices-for-voices.org/3ZhJ6AW Publisher: voices-for-voices.org/3LKL1uN Instagram: @voicesforvoices TikTok: @voices_for_voices_22 Facebook: Voices for Voices *Voices for Voices is a 501c3 nonprofit charity. What If “Always Being On” Is The New Public Health Crisis | Episode 569

What If “Always Being On” Is The New Public Health Crisis | Episode 569 A selfie is never just a selfie anymore, and that’s the problem. We live in a world where kids and adults feel pressured to stay “on” at all times and to look camera ready on demand, even when it quietly wrecks self-esteem, sleep, and mental health. In this Voices for Voices solo talk, I connect that everyday pressure to a bigger headline: the Meta lawsuit, the multi-billion-dollar settlement, and the uncomfortable question behind it all. If screens are addictive by design, what does accountability actually look like for social media platforms that profit from attention and comparison? I also get personal about the hidden costs of constant posting and constant watching. We talk about bullying, extortion, stranger danger, and how a single bad photo or video can ripple through friendships at school and beyond. Money can’t undo tragedy, so we dig into what families can do right now: being more present, having real conversations that go deeper than “ignore them,” and building simple safety plans like code words and exit strategies when a situation turns ugly. Then we zoom out to the body image machine that social media amplifies. Filters, “perfect life” feeds, influencer culture, weight loss shots, Botox, fillers, and the endless push to fix something can all tie back to one belief: if I look right, I’ll finally feel okay. We challenge that story and land on a healthier one, choosing authenticity, boundaries, and humanity over analytics and approval. If this resonates, subscribe, share the show with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find the conversation. *Merch Shop: voices-for-voices.org/4h2xvA0 **Please Donate Today: LoveVoices.org, CashApp and Venmo ***Find our book here: Amazon: voices-for-voices.org/3ZhJ6AW Publisher: voices-for-voices.org/3LKL1uN Instagram: @voicesforvoices TikTok: @voices_for_voices_22 Facebook: Voices for Voices *Voices for Voices is a 501c3 nonprofit charity. When Life Doesn't Go To Plan: Finding Resilience After The Breaking Point | Episode 568

When Life Doesn't Go To Plan: Finding Resilience After The Breaking Point | Episode 568 Life can change in a snap, and not always in the ways we would choose. We sit with the uncomfortable truth that things do not go as planned, then ask the bigger question hiding underneath it: if the hard parts never happened, would we still be who we are today? Justin shares a raw, personal reflection on resilience, grief, and the moments that force us to look at our lives with fresh eyes. We talk candidly about mental health, including what it feels like to hit a wall and wonder how you will get through today, not just the next month. Justin connects his 2017 mental health crash to the deeper purpose behind Voices for Voices, and why asking for help through therapy, group support, and honest conversations can be the turning point. We also dig into workplace burnout, toxic bosses, and the “engine out of gas” reality of pushing yourself past your limits until something breaks. The takeaway is not perfection or positivity, but perspective and practical care: take inventory of where you are, stop carrying everything in your head, and be kinder to yourself while you rebuild. If you need a grounded mental health reminder that you are not alone, this is for you. Subscribe to the podcast, share it with someone who could use support, and leave a review with your biggest small win this week. *Merch Shop: voices-for-voices.org/4h2xvA0 **Please Donate Today: LoveVoices.org, CashApp and Venmo ***Find our book here: Amazon: voices-for-voices.org/3ZhJ6AW Publisher: voices-for-voices.org/3LKL1uN Instagram: @voicesforvoices TikTok: @voices_for_voices_22 Facebook: Voices for Voices *Voices for Voices is a 501c3 nonprofit charity. Is Your Teen Hiding Something? Why They Need a Shame-Free Exit Plan | Episode 567

Is Your Teen Hiding Something? Why They Need a Shame-Free Exit Plan | Episode 567 Your kid texts one strange word and you’re on your way to pick them up. That part feels straightforward. The part most parents don’t plan for is what comes next: the fear of being judged at school, the whispering in the hallway, the worry about getting cut out of the next invite. We dig into how a “code word” pickup plan protects physical safety and why it also needs to protect a child’s mental health. We talk through the social reality kids live in, from sleepovers and pizza nights to group projects and team locker room gossip. If a child leaves early, they can feel like they “let people down,” even when they did the right thing. We share ways to prep for that moment ahead of time with a simple, calm family communication plan and a short “after” conversation that keeps trust intact. We also touch the risks that can show up at teen parties alcohol, drugs, noise, police involvement and why trusting your intuition matters. For student athletes and high performers, one bad decision can ripple into lost opportunities, so we discuss how to empower kids to step away without shame. Along the way, we laugh about pagers, busy signals, and dial up internet, and use that nostalgia to underline a serious point: anxiety thrives in silence and uncertainty, so clear communication helps. Subscribe wherever you get podcasts, share this with a parent or guardian who needs it, and leave a review so more families can build safer nights and stronger trust. The Secret Code: How to Get Your Kid Out of a Dangerous Situation | Episode 566

A hangout can go sideways in minutes: your kid is at a friend’s house, the hours stretch late, and then a couple people show up visibly drunk with alcohol in hand. Suddenly it’s not about video games or a movie night anymore. It’s about child safety, underage drinking risk, and whether your child has a clear way to get out without becoming the “dramatic one” in front of peers. We walk through a simple, realistic parenting strategy that fits real life: setting expectations before drop-off, naming the uncomfortable truths about sleepovers and group get-togethers, and creating a code word or code phrase your child can use by text or phone. “Can you bring some water?” becomes a quiet signal that means “I’m not okay, come get me now.” We also talk about why the right response matters just as much as the code word: no interrogation, no lectures in the moment, just a calm pickup that reinforces trust and keeps the door open for future honesty. Along the way, we address the social pressure piece head-on, including how teen brain development affects judgment and why “just say no” isn’t a complete plan when stress, embarrassment, and group dynamics hit all at once. If you care about teen safety, safe spaces at home, and practical communication tools for parents, this conversation is built to be used, not just heard. If this helps you, subscribe, share it with another parent, and leave a review so more families build an easy escape plan before they need one. Are You Hiding Your Hardest Thoughts? Why It’s Time To Talk | Episode 565

Silence can feel like protection, until it starts feeling like pressure. We talk about what happens when you keep your hardest thoughts locked away, and why speaking up in therapy, psychiatry, or even a regular doctor visit can be the difference between staying stuck and finally moving forward. I share what I’ve learned the hard way: you often get out what you put in, and when you don’t share, your mental health team can’t help loosen what you’ve been carrying. We use two simple metaphors to make it real. First, the “gold” we hoard: memories, shame, trauma, and the things people said that still echo years later. Then, the tightly wound spring: every new stressor cranks it back again until it either breaks, spins out, or finally gets some relief when you talk to someone safe. That relief doesn’t mean life becomes perfect, but it can make anxiety, stress, and guilt more manageable, one honest conversation at a time. We also name the stigma that keeps people from getting treatment for mental health, trauma recovery, and addiction recovery, and we talk about something practical: finding the right fit. You’re allowed to look for a therapist, counselor, or psychiatrist who listens, and you’re allowed to switch if the connection isn’t there. We close with a reminder that even a “tiny megaphone” can help someone else feel less alone, whether that’s sharing a resource, being a better listener, or passing along the show. If this resonates, subscribe, share it with someone you care about, and leave a quick review so more people can find the support they’ve been putting off. *Merch Shop: voices-for-voices.org/4h2xvA0 **Please Donate Today: LoveVoices.org, CashApp and Venmo ***Find our book here: Amazon: voices-for-voices.org/3ZhJ6AW Publisher: voices-for-voices.org/3LKL1uN Instagram: @voicesforvoices TikTok: @voices_for_voices_22 Facebook: Voices for Voices *Voices for Voices is a 501c3 nonprofit charity. You Are Not Alone In The Quiet Moments | Episode 564

Life gets real when the gold stars stop. Once school ends and adulthood kicks in, a lot of us go from constant feedback to near silence and sometimes nonstop criticism. We sit with that shift and the questions it triggers: Why am I here? What am I supposed to do with my life? What do I want people to remember about me when time runs out? I share my own truth about major depression, the terrifying closeness of dark thoughts, and why I keep choosing to come back and try again. We talk about how “simple” things like brushing your teeth or taking a shower can become huge victories, and why those small wins matter for mental health, self-care, and suicide prevention. If you’ve ever felt unseen, unpraised, or like you’re failing at life because nobody is handing you a sticker anymore, you’re not alone. We also get practical about rebuilding purpose and staying grounded: turning off the phone for five minutes, sitting in quiet, and making sure your decisions come from your own heart instead of social media noise or other people’s expectations. I explain why I built Voices for Voices as a nonprofit mission focused on positivity, community, prayer or good vibes, and making space for every voice. Silence vs. Action: Why You Can’t Afford To Stay Quiet | Episode 563

Silence is easy. It is also how the worst things keep winning. We sit with that tension and ask a blunt question: what is the meaning of our lives if we watch harmful realities pass by and say nothing? We trace a surprising comment someone shared with us, that Voices for Voices is a “modern day Martin Luther King Jr.” moment. We do not take that lightly or treat it like a compliment. Instead, we pressure-test it by walking through several of Dr. King’s quotes and applying them to what we actually do: talk about the topics people avoid, create space for voices that have been ignored, and keep showing up even when we are criticized for it. Along the way, we connect purpose to faith, the idea of being used for something bigger than ourselves, and the discipline of learning as we go. From taking the first step without seeing the whole staircase to choosing light over darkness, we focus on practical courage. We talk human trafficking awareness in Ohio, why controversy is sometimes the price of telling the truth, and how you can love people while still demanding accountability for harmful acts. If you have been putting off a hard conversation, a new project, or a needed stand, this is your nudge to act. Subscribe to Voices for Voices, share the episode with someone who needs it, and leave a review. She Was Groomed by a 'Romeo Pimp': The Reality of Trafficking in America | Episode 562

A trafficker rarely looks like a stranger in a dark alley. Sometimes he looks like a charming boyfriend with money to burn, big promises, and a plan to isolate you. That’s why this conversation with Jeanette Bradley hit so hard for us. Jeanette is the founder of 2nd Chance Ministries in Ohio, a survivor of trafficking, and a relentless advocate for people who are treated as invisible. Her lived experience takes human trafficking out of the headlines and puts it where it belongs: in real life, in real neighborhoods, affecting real families. We talk through the full arc of her story, including childhood sexual abuse, the way trauma can fuel addiction and homelessness, and how grooming can turn into violent coercion. Jeanette breaks down what she calls the “Romeo pimp” approach, and why the myth of “she chose that life” keeps victims trapped and keeps communities passive. We also dig into what victims actually need to escape: safe housing, trauma-informed care, recovery support, and laws that punish traffickers instead of shaming survivors. Jeanette also shares what her street outreach looks like in Columbus, why Ohio remains a hotspot for trafficking, and what she learned doing anti-trafficking work beyond the US. We spotlight her book I’m Still Standing and the message behind it: freedom is possible, but nobody gets free alone. If this moved you, subscribe, share this episode with one person, and leave a review so more listeners can find stories that save lives. *Merch Shop: voices-for-voices.org/4h2xvA0 **Please Donate Today: LoveVoices.org, CashApp and Venmo ***Find our book here: Amazon: voices-for-voices.org/3ZhJ6AW Publisher: voices-for-voices.org/3LKL1uN Instagram: @voicesforvoices TikTok: @voices_for_voices_22 Facebook: Voices for Voices *Voices for Voices is a 501c3 nonprofit charity. If It Is Not Yours And You Did Not Ask It Is Stealing | Episode 561

Someone steals a pair of shoes from a school locker and for a few hours it feels like they are just gone. That small moment turns into a bigger truth we do not say out loud enough: if you did not ask and you did not get permission, it is stealing. We walk through what happened, how it was done, and why clear language matters when you are trying to protect yourself and the people around you. From there, we widen the lens from physical property theft to the kind of modern theft that hits phones, content, software, and social media accounts. We talk about how people justify it with jealousy or entitlement, why “I want it” never equals ownership, and why consent is the only clean line that keeps “give and take” from turning into harm. If you care about theft prevention, personal boundaries, and public safety, this is the plain English version you can share with anyone. We also connect the dots to mental health. Finding out you were victimized can trigger self blame, stress, anxiety, and that constant feeling that you have to watch your back. We remind you that being targeted does not mean you deserved it, and we push for a culture where people speak up, support victims, and choose right even when nobody is watching. Build Your Mental Health Team | Episode 560

Trying to “push through” alone can look strong from the outside, but it often feels brutal on the inside. I’m Justin Alan Hayes, and this Voices for Voices solo conversation is a real-time check-in on what happens when we stop pretending we can carry our mental health, our stress, and our anxiety without help. I share why this show has become my version of journaling without a pen and how speaking it out loud can create space for someone else to breathe, too. We dig into a team approach to mental health using an American football analogy: teammates matter, but coaches matter too. Whether the title is therapist, psychiatrist, mentor, or trusted friend, the point is the same. Support works best when it’s coordinated, consistent, and built around your real life, not an ideal life where nothing hurts. I also talk about emotional waves and how feelings can shift faster than we expect, plus why it’s OK to admit “I was wrong” when the old approach is not working. Along the way, I reflect on gratitude, basic human needs like shelter and food, and the heartbreak of seeing people who do not have them. And yes, we talk about my dog Lucy and the surprising mental health benefits of pets and support animals, including the comfort of simple routines and physical connection on hard days. The Timeline He Says They Got Wrong | Episode 559

Somebody’s lying, and a whole community is paying for it. We turn the floor over to our guest, David Solomon, who comes to Voices for Voices with a direct challenge to Lore Haven Episode 365 and a plea for what he says has been missing from the public conversation: receipts, context, and a fair hearing without threats. We walk through David’s timeline and the claims he says are being repeated about him, including a disputed origin story from 2015, references to email exchanges, and what he describes as years of reputational damage inside the Christian writing community and Realm Makers circles. He also speaks about the personal cost at home, including the impact on his wife and child, allegations of blacklisting, and fears of escalation when harassment moves from comments to real-world intimidation like doxxing and swatting. A major theme is digital harm and misinformation: what happens when private people become targets, when an AI image can be treated as “proof,” and when a community decides someone is guilty before any real process plays out. David ends by praying for endurance, protection, and healing, even for people he says have hurt him, while we close with a clear public safety stance: no threats, no violence, no harm. If you believe truth matters more than clicks, listen, share this with someone who needs the full context, and subscribe so you don’t miss what comes next. The $1 Billion Question: Can Court Orders Keep Teens Safe Online? | Episode 558

Nearly one billion dollars in penalties. Court ordered teen protections. And one blunt question that every parent, coach, and guardian has to face: why are social platforms still making it so easy for adults to reach children directly? We dig into reporting on a New Mexico court ruling targeting Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, and we treat it like what it is to us: a public safety announcement about online child safety and youth mental health. We walk through the key claims and the specific changes described, including deleting unverified under 13 accounts, blocking overnight and school day notifications, automatically blurring nude images, limiting unknown adults from messaging minors, adding safeguards around AI chatbots, and even capping use at 90 hours per month. We also talk about why these guardrails should not require a lawsuit to exist, and how “just put the phone down” is not a real solution when apps are designed to hook attention. Then we get personal and direct about boundaries: adults should never privately message minors without a parent or guardian involved. If a child reaches out, the right move is to bring in the caregiver, the school, or a trained professional not to step into a role you are not qualified for. We connect these choices to real world risks like grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and the heartbreaking outcomes families have already lived through. If you care about social media safety for kids, parental controls, screen time limits, and holding platforms accountable, this conversation is for you. Subscribe, share this with one parent in your life, and leave a review that helps more families find Voices for Voices. *Merch Shop: voices-for-voices.org/4h2xvA0 **Please Donate Today: LoveVoices.org, CashApp and Venmo ***Find our book here: Amazon: voices-for-voices.org/3ZhJ6AW Publisher: voices-for-voices.org/3LKL1uN Instagram: @voicesforvoices TikTok: @voices_for_voices_22 Facebook: Voices for Voices *Voices for Voices is a 501c3 nonprofit charity. Returning to the Gym? Here's What Nobody Tells You About Your Clothes | Episode 557

Your clothes don’t just reflect your body. They can shape your mood, your confidence, and the story you tell yourself when you look in the mirror. We get real about what happens when you return to the gym after years of being inactive and, only a few weeks in, shorts and shirts suddenly stop fitting. Is it muscle gain, leftover weight, or a mix of both? We walk through the uncertainty, the frustration, and the surprisingly heavy mental health impact of standing in front of a closet that no longer matches your life. We also dig into the drivers behind major weight fluctuation: long days sitting, inconsistent workouts, and a stressful work pace that leads to skipping meals, pushing through lunch, and living on whatever is fast. We talk about anxiety, screen time, and the way pressure can spike stress hormones like cortisol and throw off your appetite and energy. Along the way, we share practical ways to think about a sustainable gym routine, including why training legs matters, why progress can be uneven, and why patience beats crash changes every time. Then the conversation widens to body image, bullying, and the scars that can stick from school into adulthood. We reflect on acne, puberty, braces, feeling excluded, and how shame about appearance can push people into isolation and painful questions about identity and purpose. If you’ve ever felt judged for being “too big” or “too skinny,” you’ll hear why you’re not alone, and why kindness and consistency matter more than any clothing tag. Subscribe for more honest conversations, share this with someone who needs encouragement, and leave a review so more people can find the show. *Merch Shop: voices-for-voices.org/4h2xvA0 **Please Donate Today: LoveVoices.org, CashApp and Venmo ***Find our book here: Amazon: voices-for-voices.org/3ZhJ6AW Publisher: voices-for-voices.org/3LKL1uN Instagram: @voicesforvoices TikTok: @voices_for_voices_22 Facebook: Voices for Voices *Voices for Voices is a 501c3 nonprofit charity. Your Appointment Got Canceled. Now What? | Episode 556

Your plans are set, your mind is ready, and then you get the message: canceled. Power outage. No appointment today. We start from that exact frustration and talk honestly about the mental whiplash that comes with last-minute changes, especially when you were counting on that meeting to help you move forward. We walk through what “adaptability” really looks like when it’s not optional: separating what you can control from what you can’t, catching the self-blame loop, and using simple coping skills to get grounded again. That includes the real emotional toll of having to reschedule for a date that’s further out than you want, and how to stop letting disappointment turn into a story about you “failing.” Along the way, we touch on stress, anxiety, and cortisol, plus a funny social media claim we had to try: sticking your tongue out for 40 seconds as a way to calm the body. Scientific or not, it opens a bigger point about laughter, being less rigid, and giving ourselves permission to be human. We also talk about boundaries, not taking work home, and why authenticity matters more than looking perfect. Then we zoom out to time, aging, and the push to do the thing you keep delaying because time doesn’t stand still. If you want a grounded, encouraging listen about mental health, resilience, and staying true to yourself, press play and come hang with us. I Lost a Friendship Over Sports, and Here's What I Learned | Episode 555

Consistency doesn’t start with a huge burst of motivation. It starts with a simple promise to yourself: get there, then do something. We share what it looks like to rebuild a gym routine after time off, why exercise can be “some of the best medicine,” and how staying in motion supports your health, mindset, and the people who count on you. If you’ve ever worried you’ll “fall off the horse” once the newness fades, you’ll relate to this one. Then the conversation turns to choices, especially the kind kids and teens face as school activities get more competitive. We talk about trying things because you want to, not because a friend is doing it, not because a parent or coach is pushing it. Justin even names it “frienditis,” that pull to follow the crowd, and explains why learning what you actually enjoy is part of building character. We also get honest about the time and money families spend on activities and why it’s important for kids to speak up when they are not having fun. The most personal moment comes from a story about a childhood friendship that drifted after tryouts, teams, and growing up changed the dynamic. We sit with regret, redemption, and the hope of making an apology even years later, because being human means we don’t always get it right the first time. Behind The Scenes: The Struggle Before The Camera | Episode 554

The camera makes it look simple, but the real work happens before the record button. I’m talking about the unglamorous, human side of podcasting and filming: picking a topic that matters, writing down ideas before they disappear, and finding the energy to execute when stress and anxiety are loud. If you’ve ever assumed creators “just talk,” this is a transparent look at everything you don’t see. I also share how my background teaching at a university and speaking to groups helped me get more comfortable on camera, while still not “mastering” anxiety. Practice helps, therapy and coping tools help, and sometimes medication helps, but none of it erases the pressure completely. I talk openly about stumbles, filler words, and the reality that being yourself is easy to say and harder to live when you’re trying to serve a mission and show up consistently. Then we get practical: branded shirts and hats, finding what’s clean, charging the camera, lights, and microphone, and choosing a filming location where the lighting doesn’t make the video look like nighttime. Add guest schedules and limited time windows, and suddenly a “simple” recording becomes a stack of small tasks that can drain your battery before you even start. If this resonated, subscribe, share the show with a few friends, and leave a review so more people can find Voices for Voices. *Merch Shop: voices-for-voices.org/4h2xvA0 **Please Donate Today: LoveVoices.org, CashApp and Venmo ***Find our book here: Amazon: voices-for-voices.org/3ZhJ6AW Publisher: voices-for-voices.org/3LKL1uN Instagram: @voicesforvoices TikTok: @voices_for_voices_22 Facebook: Voices for Voices *Voices for Voices is a 501c3 nonprofit charity. How to Build a Life That Doesn't Require You to Be Perfect | Episode 553

“Come as you are” is more than a lyric. It’s a blueprint for building a life and a community that doesn’t require you to clean yourself up before you’re allowed to belong. I’m Justin Alan Hayes, and I use this solo conversation to lay out what Voices for Voices stands for: real people, real struggles, and a place where you can show up in whatever season you’re in, including the messy one. We talk about why we keep judgment low and humanity high, from the way people look at the gym to the way we treat each other when we disagree. I also draw a bright line that matters: you will not hear us pushing harm toward anyone, physically or mentally. You might not love every topic, and that’s fine, but the core stays the same: respect, restraint, and a commitment to not turning pain into violence. From there, I get personal about seasonal affective disorder and living with major depression, including how hard the basics can feel on the worst mornings. We connect that reality to practical routines like getting back to the gym, working around plateaus, listening to your body, and remembering that rest is part of progress, not a detour. I also share why this show acts like journaling for me, a way to get thoughts out of my head and into the open so I can keep moving. If you want a mental health podcast that mixes self-acceptance, fitness mindset, and honest encouragement without pretending life is easy, hit play. Subscribe, share the show with someone who could use a little steadiness today, and leave a review so more people can find Voices for Voices. *Merch Shop: voices-for-voices.org/4h2xvA0 **Please Donate Today: LoveVoices.org, CashApp and Venmo ***Find our book here: Amazon: voices-for-voices.org/3ZhJ6AW Publisher: voices-for-voices.org/3LKL1uN Instagram: @voicesforvoices TikTok: @voices_for_voices_22 Facebook: Voices for Voices *Voices for Voices is a 501c3 nonprofit charity. Tired, Imperfect, Still Learning | Real Talk On Fatherhood | Episode 552

Parenthood doesn’t politely fit into your old life. It takes over your calendar, rewrites your priorities, and asks you to become more patient than you thought possible. We share a real, close-to-home reflection on fatherhood, what it means to watch your child find joy, and why being present is often the most powerful kind of support, even when you are tired, imperfect, and still learning. We also get practical about the day-to-day: kids’ activities, shifting schedules, and the constant decisions around what to try next. From sports to ballet to gymnastics and camps, we talk about choosing exploration over pressure and asking the simple question that keeps trust intact: do you actually like what you’re doing? Along the way, we connect family life to mental health, trauma recovery, and the kind of purpose that can emerge after hard seasons. The conversation turns serious where it needs to: child safety. Our stance is clear and non-negotiable, no human is for sale, especially no children. We talk about patience in a world built for instant gratification and why progress sometimes takes longer than we want, even when the work matters. We also share how you can support Voices for Voices, a 501c3 nonprofit, through sharing, merch, and donations at lovevoices.org. If this resonates, subscribe, share the show with a few people you care about, and leave a review so more families can find these conversations. *Merch Shop: voices-for-voices.org/4h2xvA0 **Please Donate Today: LoveVoices.org, CashApp and Venmo ***Find our book here: Amazon: voices-for-voices.org/3ZhJ6AW Publisher: voices-for-voices.org/3LKL1uN Instagram: @voicesforvoices TikTok: @voices_for_voices_22 Facebook: Voices for Voices *Voices for Voices is a 501c3 nonprofit charity.
