    Wolves

Welcome, you’re listening to wi-fi, where we don’t just connect what we know, but marvel at Who made it all! I’m Dr. Keith Whitley, and today we are going to talk about how wolves move through the wilderness with a strength that is easy to misunderstand. Their howls can sound lonely across a dark valley, but wolves are not creatures of loneliness. They are deeply social animals, living in family groups called packs. A pack is usually made up of parents, their pups, and sometimes older offspring that remain with the family for a time. What may seem like a fierce hunting group from a distance is, up close, a household: parents guiding the young, siblings learning together, and each member depending on the others. Truthwins.com

    Chapter Nineteen Ashes & Paradox

Something has broken that has not broken before. Jobe has been wounded and exhausted and desperate and furious and reaching for mediators and witnesses in heaven, and through all of it there has been a kind of structural integrity to the speeches — an architecture of argument, a forward momentum, a man who is suffering but still building something with the suffering. Chapter seventeen is what happens when the building stops. Not because Jobe has given up exactly, but because the materials have run out. My spirit is broken, he says. My days are extinguished. The grave is ready for me. These are not arguments. They are reports from the interior of a man who has arrived at a place past which arguments do not reach. Truthwins.com

    Harvest Moon

Welcome, you’re listening to wi-fi, where we don’t just connect what we know, but marvel at Who made it all! I’m Dr. Keith Whitley, and today we are going to talk about ihe Harvest Moon. It is the full moon nearest the beginning of autumn. It rises during a season of gathering—when fields are full, daylight is shortening, and people have long felt the quiet urgency to bring in what has grown. Truthwins.com

    Chapter Eighteen Ashes & Paradox

Eliphaz has just finished his second speech. The courtesy of the first round is entirely gone now — he came back with contempt dressed in tradition, with the portrait of the wicked man drawn so carefully that every brushstroke landed on Job's address. And Job has listened to all of it. He has listened to all three of them across all the rounds, the night visions and the library and the cold contempt, the conditional promises and the proverbs of ashes and the east wind accusations. And what comes out of him in chapter sixteen is not another legal brief. It is not another theological argument. It is something rawer than either of those, something that arrives before the arguments form, the sound a man makes when the last resource he thought he had turns out to be another wound. Fog

Welcome, you’re listening to wi-fi, where we don’t just connect what we know, but marvel at Who made it all! I’m Dr. Keith Whitley, and today we are going to talk about how fog does not arrive with thunder or announce itself with a flash of light. It comes quietly. A road that was clear at sunset becomes uncertain by dawn. A field disappears from the edges inward. Trees that stood sharp against the horizon become gray shapes, then pale shadows, then nothing at all. The world has not changed, but the ability to see it has. Fog teaches us how quickly familiar things can become hidden. Truthwins.com

    Chapter Seventeen Ashes & Paradox

Eliphaz has been here before. He was the first to speak after the seven days of silence, the first to reach into his night vision and pull out the theology that has been driving all three friends since chapter four. He spoke with the authority of family and the weight of a genuine spiritual encounter, however misidentified its source. He stepped back while Bildad and Zophar took their turns. And now he is back. But the man who returns in chapter fifteen is not the careful, diplomatic, grief-softened Eliphaz who opened with a tribute to Job's past ministry before delivering his diagnosis. That Eliphaz extended the courtesy of remembering who Job was before the ash heap. This Eliphaz has run out of courtesy. Truthwins.com

    Skeleton

Welcome, you’re listening to wi-fi, where we don’t just connect what we know, but marvel at Who made it all! I’m Dr. Keith Whitley, and today we are going to talk about the The skeleton is easy to overlook because it is hidden beneath skin, muscle, clothing, and motion. We see a person smile, walk, wave, bend, reach, and run, but beneath every ordinary movement is a framework of remarkable precision. The human skeleton is not a pile of dry bones. It is living architecture, more like a construction site that never closes than a set of wooden beams holding up a house. An adult body carries 206 bones, each shaped, placed, connected, and strengthened for a purpose. Truthwins.com

    Chapter Sixteen Ashes & Paradox

Job has just told the friends they are worthless physicians and forgers of lies. He has declared that though God slay him he will still trust Him and still defend his own ways before Him. He has filed his brief and announced his intention to take the case directly to the only courtroom that matters. And now, before God answers — and God will not answer for many more chapters — Job does something that none of the friends have done in any of their speeches. He stops arguing and starts grieving. Not for his losses. Not for the children or the cattle or the health. He grieves for the human condition itself. He steps back from his own ash heap far enough to see that the ash heap is not his alone. Every person born of a woman is standing in some version of it. And what comes out of him in chapter fourteen is one of the most quietly devastating and quietly hopeful meditations on mortality in all of ancient literature. Truthwins.com

    Saiga Antelope

Welcome, you’re listening to wi-fi, where we don’t just connect what we know, but marvel at Who made it all! I’m Dr. Keith Whitley, and today we are going to talk about the saiga antelope which looks as though God designed it in the middle of a hard wind. Its body is shaped like a small, lean antelope, made to run across the open grasslands of Central Asia. Its eyes sit wide and watchful. Its legs are built for distance. But then there is the nose—large, swollen, soft-looking, and hanging over its mouth like a small trunk. To human eyes, it can look almost comical, as if someone placed the wrong feature on the wrong animal. Truthwins.com

    Chapter Fifteen Ashes & Paradox

Job has heard enough. Three rounds of speeches — Eliphaz with his night vision, Bildad with his library, Zophar with his contempt — and something in Job has finished being patient with the architecture of their arguments. In chapter twelve he demonstrated that he knows everything they know. In chapter thirteen he tells them what he intends to do with that knowledge. And what he intends to do with it is walk past them entirely and take his case directly to the courtroom they have been describing to him as though he had never heard of it. Truthwins.com

    Okapi

Welcome, you’re listening to wi-fi, where we don’t just connect what we know, but marvel at Who made it all! I’m Dr. Keith Whitley, and today we are going to talk about the okapi which looks as though creation paused in its work and gathered the features of several animals into one quiet creature. From a distance, it seems to wear a zebra’s striped stockings. Its deep brown body suggests a deer moving through shadow. Its face is gentle and watchful, its ears rise large and listening, and its neck carries a hint of something taller. But the okapi is none of those things. Truthwins.com

    Chapter Fourteen Ashes & Paradox

Something has changed in Job's voice. The grief is still there — it never left — but something has hardened underneath it into something that sounds almost like clarity. For chapters he has been defending himself, explaining himself, asking to be understood, reaching for the friends and finding dry riverbeds. He has been a man trying to be heard. And now, in chapter twelve, he stops trying to be heard and starts being sharp. The sorrow has not diminished. But it has found an edge. Truthwins.com

    Snails

Welcome, you’re listening to wi-fi, where we don’t just connect what we know, but marvel at Who made it all! I’m Dr. Keith Whitley, and today we are going to talk about The snail, did you ever notice it does not hurry. While the world races above it—cars passing, people talking, rain falling and drying again—it carries its small house across a leaf, a stone, the edge of a garden path. It moves so slowly that many people hardly see it at all. Truthwins.com

    Chapter Thirteen Ashes & Paradox

Zophar is the third friend and he arrives like a man who has been waiting his turn with the patience of someone who is not particularly patient. Eliphaz brought a night vision and the authority of family. Bildad brought the library of the fathers. Zophar brings something neither of them had the confidence to use openly — contempt. He does not begin with sympathy, however misapplied. He does not ease into the diagnosis with diplomatic language. He walks straight to the ash heap, looks at the man who has been speaking the most theologically sophisticated speeches of the entire book, and calls him an empty talker. A mocker. A man full of words that should have been answered long ago by someone willing to say what everyone is thinking. Truthwins.com

Altar of Pergamon by Jonathan Cahn

Jonathan Cahn’s The Altar of Pergamon: The Mystery of the Dark Angel and the Future of the World moves with the energy of an Indiana Jones story, but it is not simply chasing an artifact for the thrill of adventure. It follows Ariel Herzog, a skeptic known for dismissing supernatural claims, after he receives a strange page from a hidden book. That single page becomes a doorway into a larger mystery—one involving ancient ruins, forgotten history, coded clues, dangerous people, and a secret that seems to reach from the ancient world into the uncertainty of the present age. Avocados

Welcome, you’re listening to wi-fi, where we don’t just connect what we know, but marvel at Who made it all! I’m Dr. Keith Whitley, and today we are going to talk about the avocado which does not look like a miracle at first. It sits in the grocery bin with a dark, pebbled skin, quiet and heavy in the hand, looking more like a stone than a fruit. But cut it open and there is a soft green world inside—creamy flesh circling one enormous seed, as though the tree has wrapped its future in a layer of rich provision. Most people call it a vegetable because it belongs beside salads, sandwiches, and toast, yet botanically the avocado is a berry. Truthwins.com

    Chapter Twelve Ashes & Paradox

Job is done talking to the friends. He has argued his innocence to Eliphaz and gotten a demon's theology in return. He has argued his integrity to Bildad and gotten the fathers' library aimed at him like a weapon. He has described the impossibility of the courtroom in chapter nine and found himself, at the end of it, still in the ash heap with no mediator and no answer and no relief from the static between him and the God he cannot stop addressing. And so in chapter ten he does the thing that is either the bravest or the most desperate act in the book, depending on which side of the hedge you are standing on. He stops explaining himself to men and starts cross-examining God. Truthwins.com

    Anteater

Welcome, you’re listening to wi-fi, where we don’t just connect what we know, but marvel at Who made it all! I’m Dr. Keith Whitley, and today we are going to talk about the anteater who is one of those animals that looks almost whimsical at first, but the more closely you consider it, the more you see how finely it has been shaped for a particular task. Its entire body is organized around a single, modest goal: finding and eating ants and termites. Truthwins.com

    Chapter Eleven Ashes & Paradox

Something has shifted in Job. The Bildad speech landed differently than Eliphaz's did. Eliphaz came with love and a night vision and the authority of family, and Job could push back against the intimacy of that — could say, you are a dried-up brook, you came to comfort and brought a verdict instead. But Bildad came with tradition and logic and the cold efficiency of a man who has organized the universe into a system, and something in that system got inside Job's thinking. Truthwins.com
