#171 We Agree to Disagree: Questioning Everything We’ve Been Told About Health

Send us Fan Mail In this episode, Heather and Vanessa put their opinions on the table and ask: Do we actually agree? Breakfast. Vitamin D. Detoxes. Coffee. Sunscreen. Raw milk. Parasite cleanses. Homeopathy. And even the idea that healing is supposed to be hard. We don’t see everything the same way which is exactly what makes this conversation so interesting. We talk about why our beliefs around health need to be allowed to evolve, why what works for one person may not work for another, and why supplements, research, and outside advice can never completely replace learning to understand your own body. We also dive into the deeper side of healing: stress; emotions; spirituality; gratitude; trusting yourself; and recognizing that true health is about so much more than what you take. Because healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. And you don’t have to blindly follow someone else’s rules to get healthier. 🎙 Listen to the episode and let us know what do YOU agree or disagree with! ✨ Want support on your own health journey? Heather and Vanessa both work one-on-one with clients to help you look at the physical, emotional, mental, and deeper energetic pieces of your health in a personalized way. 👉 Work with us: Reach out to either of us through our websites to learn more about sessions and how we can support you. 🎧 And don’t forget to follow/subscribe to the podcast so you don’t miss Part 2, upcoming guests, and our continued conversations about health, healing, and everything in between. #170 Inside the Homeopathic Pharmacy: Miro Posavec on Remedies, Cell Salts, Food & 20 Years of Homeopathy

Send us Fan Mail This week on the podcast, Heather and Vanessa are joined by Miro Posavec, founder of Bestmade Natural Products, for a fascinating conversation about homeopathy, cell salts, remedy manufacturing, food, and what it really means to look at the whole person. Miro’s journey into homeopathy began with his own son’s health, and eventually led him from practicing classical homeopathy to building a homeopathic pharmacy that has grown from shipping a single box of remedies in 2004 to working with suppliers and customers around the world. We talk about: ✨ Miro’s journey into classical homeopathy and why he eventually left practice ✨ How Bestmade Natural Products grew over the last 20+ years ✨ Cell salts—what they are, how they’re made, and how Miro uses them ✨ Why he believes diet and obstacles to cure need to be addressed alongside remedies ✨ Classical remedies vs. newer, less-proven remedies ✨ Combination remedies and when Miro finds them useful ✨ His experience with remedy provings, and one particularly wild proving experience that changed his understanding of empathy and intuition ✨ Favorite remedies, flower essences, and some fascinating cases from his years of practice ✨ The importance of traditional food practices and what we’ve lost in modern life ✨ Regulatory challenges facing homeopathy ✨ His new 120-remedy kit and the Fast Remedy Picker software ✨ And so much more! I especially loved hearing Miro’s perspective as someone who has spent decades not only studying and practicing homeopathy, but actually manufacturing remedies and seeing how they perform in the real world with thousands of customers. #169 Beyond the Remedy: Wren Lloyd on The Three Principles, Practice Building, and a New Model for Homeopathy

Send us Fan Mail Wren Lloyd joins the Quantum Health Connection podcast for a wide-ranging conversation about the path from being called to homeopathy to becoming a confident, supported practitioner. She traces the experiences that led her from Montessori education and self-study into clinical practice, practice-building mentorship, international service, and the creation of the Inspired School of Homeopathic Practice. The discussion moves beyond remedies into the inner life of the practitioner. Wren explains how The Three Principles inform her approach to self-responsibility, perception, client care, trauma narratives, and professional resilience. Wren also shares about her model of apprenticeship-based education, about building community, ethical niche marketing, homeopathic detox, and the importance of helping graduates build viable practices. In this episode: The early experience that first placed homeopathy on Wren’s radar How education, motherhood, self-study, and formal training shaped her professional path Why many graduates know how to do homeopathy but do not yet know how to be practicing homeopaths The Inspired School’s apprenticeship model, live cases, small cohorts, and practice-building emphasis Using a defined niche to communicate clearly without limiting who a practitioner can serve The role of practitioner self-awareness and The Three Principles in client care Creating supportive professional communities and reducing post-graduation isolation Wren’s evolution from strictly classical training toward a broader clinical toolkit, including detox approaches A nuanced discussion of thought, trauma, resilience, insight, and the meanings attached to experience Connect with Wren: https://wrenlloyd.com https://internationalhomeopathsforautism.com https://inspireschoolofhomeopathicpractice.com https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wren-sofra https://wrenlloyd.com/super-users-guide-homeopathic-detox ➡️ Coupon code "QUANTUM" https://www.similia.io/?via=wren [Wren's affiliate code for Similia] Clinical Confidence Program: https://link.feacreate.com/widget/bookings/ishp-ccp Support the show Find Heather: Book with Heather Heather's Free Product Guide with Discount Codes Heather's Instagram Find Vanessa: Vanessa's Instagram Vanessa's Website Free Product Guide with Discount Codes Free Homeopathy at Home Guide Disclaimer: All interviews shared on The Quantum Health Connection Podcast are strictly for educational and entertainment purposes. #168 Beyond Vitamin D: How Sunlight Powers Your Mitochondria with Jonathan Jarecki—Part 2

Send us Fan Mail In Part 2 of our conversation with Jonathan Jarecki, we move beyond the basic advice to “get more sunlight” and dive deeply into the emerging science of how light interacts with our mitochondria, cellular water, circulation, and circadian biology. Jonathan begins by challenging the familiar explanation that ATP is simply the “energy currency” of the cell. Drawing from the work of researchers such as Gilbert Ling and Gerald Pollack, he explores another possibility: ATP may play a crucial role in organizing water and building exclusion-zone—or EZ—water inside the body. We then examine how red and near-infrared light may support mitochondrial function. Jonathan explains proposed mechanisms involving cytochrome c oxidase, ATP synthase, electron flow through the mitochondrial electron transport chain, nitric oxide, and the production of subcellular melatonin. He also discusses why the absence of infrared light—and the abundance of isolated blue light—in modern indoor environments may place additional stress on our mitochondria. The conversation also takes an honest look at red-light therapy devices. Are high-intensity panels always better, or could the lower intensity and balanced spectrum of natural sunlight be more biologically appropriate? Jonathan shares his concerns about extremely powerful devices, explains how distance can reduce intensity, and discusses simple alternatives such as incandescent bulbs and reflected near-infrared light. We also explore the often-demonized ultraviolet portion of sunlight. Jonathan discusses vitamin D as a possible marker of sun exposure rather than the sole reason sunlight is associated with better health outcomes. He explains how UVA stimulates nitric oxide release, why that matters for blood pressure and circulation, and what research suggests about regular sun exposure, melanoma mortality, cardiovascular health, and other cancers. Finally, Jonathan offers realistic ways to create a more light-supportive lifestyle even if you work indoors or are not ready for direct midday sun. In this episode, we discuss: What mitochondria do and why they are essential to nearly every cell in the body Whether ATP is truly the body’s cellular energy currency Gilbert Ling’s ideas about ATP and cellular water Gerald Pollack’s research into exclusion-zone water How infrared light may affect electron flow and ATP production Cytochrome c oxidase, ATP synthase and the mitochondrial membrane potential How near-infrared light penetrates deeply into the body Why trees and green spaces create infrared-rich environments Whether infrared light can penetrate clothing Natural fibers versus synthetic fabrics The mitochondrial effects of isolated blue light Subcellular melatonin and the body’s antioxidant defenses Red-light therapy panels versus natural sunlight Why more intensity may not always produce better results Incandescent bulbs as a simple source of red and infrared light Why vitamin D supplements do not fully reproduce sunlight exposure UVA, nitric oxide, blood pressure and cardiovascular health The difference between chronic, regular sun exposure and intermittent burning Sun exposure, melanoma mortality and other cancer risks Why reductionist studies may fail to capture the full effects of sunlight Morning light and nighttime darkness as the foundations of circadian health Practical ways to improve your light environment at home and work The science may be complex, but the central message is beautifully simple: our bodies developed in relationship with the full spectrum of natural light. Improving that relationship does not have to involve an expensive device or a complete lifestyle overhaul. It can begin with stepping outside in the morning, welcoming more natural light into the day, and allowing true darkness to return at night. #166 Quantum Nutrition: Why Light Matters More Than Food with Ethan Okunas, MS, RD

Send us Fan Mail Ethan Okunas is a Registered Dietitian, founder of Quantum Dietitian, and author of Quantum Nutrition and Quantum Weight Loss. Ethan helps clients rebuild their health by aligning metabolism, rhythm, and environment at the level of energy. Rather than focusing only on food and symptoms, Ethan teaches people how to work with the upstream signals — light, timing, water, movement, and mitochondrial function — that truly shape how the body operates. Ethan shares how years of helping clients lose (and regain) weight led him to question conventional nutrition advice. That search ultimately brought him into the world of mitochondrial health, circadian biology, and quantum health, where he discovered that hormones are often driving metabolism rather than calories. Vanessa and Ethan unpack why thyroid dysfunction may actually be a protective response to mitochondrial stress, how our modern environment disrupts hormone signaling, and why optimizing light exposure often has a greater impact than changing what's on your plate. They also discuss restrictive diets, GLP-1 medications, sunlight, sleep, EMFs, grounding, structured water, meal timing, and practical ways anyone can begin reconnecting with nature to improve health. Whether you're struggling with fatigue, stubborn weight, thyroid issues, poor sleep, or simply want to understand the bigger picture of health, this episode offers a refreshing perspective that goes far beyond calories and macros. Here's what we cover in this episode: Ethan's journey from traditional dietetics to quantum health Why most weight loss advice fails long-term The relationship between mitochondria, thyroid function, and reverse T3 Why hormones (not calories) ultimately regulate body weight What GLP-1 medications reveal about metabolism The pillars of Quantum Nutrition beyond food Why sunlight is one of the most powerful health interventions available The importance of complete darkness for sleep and recovery How blue light and non-native EMFs affect metabolism Simple ways to reduce EMF exposure at home Why meal timing matters as much as food quality The role of grounding, structured water, and movement in energy production The truth about restrictive low-carb and carnivore diets Why adding seasonal carbohydrates can improve metabolism, sleep, and performance Practical daily habits that support circadian biology and mitochondrial health Enjoy the episode! #162 From Homeopathy to The Three Principles: Ian Watson on Mental Health, Miasms & Inner Wisdom

Send us Fan Mail In this fascinating episode, we sit down with renowned homeopath and author Ian Watson to explore his journey from practicing homeopathy to teaching The Three Principles, a transformative understanding of mental and emotional well-being. Ian Watson began studying homeopathy, herbs and flower essences as a teenager in the mid 1970’s. He subsequently trained and graduated from the College of Homeopathy in London in 1988. He ran a busy group practice in Cumbria for many years and became established as a lecturer at various homeopathic schools in the UK and overseas. He co-founded The Lakeland College of Homeopathy in 1993 and was the college director until 2003. He wrote and published four books including A Guide to the Methodologies of Homeopathy and The Tao of Homeopathy. Ian has had a lifelong interest in personal transformation, and he studied and practiced a wide variety of psychological and emotional healing disciplines from 2002 onwards. In 2011 he was introduced to the Three Principles paradigm discovered by Sydney Banks which is revolutionizing the field of mental health; this simple understanding has been a foundational aspect of his work ever since. In 2013, Ian founded The Insight Space as a vehicle for his educational and training programs. Whilst no longer offering individual homeopathic consultations, Ian continues to support and mentor homeopathic students and practitioners in being more effective and learning how to practice with ease, enjoyment and confidence. Ian was particularly inspired in his homeopathic approach by his friend and teacher Dr. Robin Murphy. In this fascinating episode, Ian shares how years in clinical practice eventually led him to seek a deeper understanding of human suffering and healing. Through the work of Sydney Banks and The Three Principles, he discovered a new perspective: that our experience of life is created through thought, and that beneath our thinking lies an innate wisdom available to all of us. We also dive into: ✨ Why the practitioner's presence may be just as important as the remedy ✨ Reimagining miasms as opportunities for growth rather than inherited burdens ✨ The cancer miasm and the journey toward authenticity and individuality ✨ How flower essences elevate consciousness and complement homeopathy ✨ Why healing often unfolds in spirals, revisiting familiar themes at deeper levels ✨ The role of intuition and learning to trust your own inner guidance ✨ Ian's transition away from professional homeopathy and what led him there ✨ His upcoming book on mental health and why true mental health is so much more than the absence of illness This conversation bridges homeopathy, consciousness, emotional healing, and the power of human connection, offering a fresh perspective on what it really means to heal. #159 The Power of Melanin: Nature's Built-In Sun Protection & Energy Converter

Send us Fan Mail In this episode of the Quantum Health Connection Podcast, Heather and Vanessa explore the fascinating science and emerging quantum biology of melanin, and why it’s so much more than skin pigment. Melanin is often thought of only in terms of tanning or skin color, but it is actually a deeply intelligent biological system that helps regulate light, protect against oxidative stress, support the nervous system, and potentially even influence cellular energy production. Vanessa shares her recent experience in St. Lucia, where she successfully built solar adaptation and spent time in intense tropical sun without burning, highlighting the power of gradually building melanin through intentional UVA and UVB exposure rather than relying solely on sunscreen and sun avoidance. In this conversation, we discuss: ☀️ Why melanin is much more than skin pigment: it acts as a light regulator; antioxidant; and biological semiconductor ☀️ The difference between UVA and UVB light, and why UVA is essential for melanin production and solar adaptation ☀️ How gradual, strategic sun exposure helps your body build its own natural protection ☀️ Why modern indoor living, excessive sunscreen use, and artificial light disrupt healthy melanin production ☀️ The difference between eumelanin and pheomelanin, and how your melanin type influences sun tolerance ☀️ Melanin’s role in the brain, eyes, gut, and immune system ☀️ Emerging research on melanin’s potential role in energy production and quantum biology ☀️ How melanin may help bind heavy metals and protect against neurodegeneration, including conditions like Parkinson’s disease ☀️ The connection between sunlight, melanin, improved food tolerance, vision, and nervous system resilience ☀️ Why balance vs fear is the key to developing a healthy relationship with the sun We also discuss cultural attitudes around tanning and sun avoidance, the importance of respecting your individual solar capacity, and how reconnecting with natural light may be one of the most overlooked foundations of health. Melanin is not just pigment. It is part of your body’s built-in solar intelligence that helps you interact with light, energy, and the environment in ways we are only beginning to understand. Learn how to partner with the sun, so your body can remember how to thrive! #156 From Fertility to Family Healing: Making Homeopathy Practical, Simple & Powerful with Jill Geisinger

Send us Fan Mail In this conversation, Jill, a homeopathic practitioner specializing in women’s health and fertility, shares her unexpected path into homeopathy, and how it became a lifelong practice focused on supporting mothers, conception, pregnancy, and postpartum care. We explore her clinical approach using fertility protocols, sarcodes, and targeted remedies, alongside the evolving challenges seen post-COVID, including shifts in fertility patterns and miscarriage rates. Jill also speaks to the importance of addressing the mother as the “hub” of the family system—where healing one woman can create ripple effects across the entire household. The discussion moves into making homeopathy more accessible and practical: from simple acute protocols for birth workers and families, to tissue salts as foundational tools, to the importance of having remedies ready before crisis moments arise. Jill also shares her work with trauma-informed homeopathy, highlighting its ability to support healing without requiring clients to relive traumatic experiences. At the heart of this episode is a shared theme: homeopathy doesn’t need to be complicated to be effective. When simplified and applied practically, it becomes a powerful tool for families, practitioners, and birth professionals alike. Jill's practice focuses on women’s health and helping families use homeopathy confidently at home. As a mom of four, she is passionate about simple, practical tools that support everyday health. In her 1:1 work, she focuses on women’s health, with a special interest in fertility, hormonal and thyroid imbalances, autoimmune conditions, and mental health, taking a root-cause approach that also addresses the impact of past experiences and emotional health. #155 Curtis Gillespie Sayers on Peptides, Biohacking Trends & the Truth About Healing

Send us Fan Mail This week Heather & Vanessa sit down with Curtis Gillespie Sayers who's a functional medicine practitioner formally trained in functional medicine, with additional training spanning functional nutrition, clinical nutrigenomics, methylation, blood chemistry, biometric coaching, and much more. Curtis's practice is built on one principle: symptoms are signals, not diagnoses, and lasting results come from identifying and addressing what is actually driving them. Curtis specializes in complex and chronic cases: the ones that have gone unresolved through conventional approaches. By integrating advanced testing, genetic analysis, and a deep understanding of how the body's systems interact, he builds precise, individualized protocols to get to the root of what is going on rather than managing surface-level outcomes. In this conversation, Curtis shares his personal journey from severe illness to helping complex chronic cases, emphasizing a whole-person approach that integrates body, mind, and environment. A major focus of our conversation is the difference between peptides and bioregulators, with peptides acting as enhancers that can push the system, while bioregulators work more gently to restore balance at a deeper level. The discussion highlights a key truth: there is no magic fix. Real healing requires addressing foundational habits, supporting the body’s natural processes, and avoiding the trap of symptom suppression which can lead to deeper imbalances over time. We also explore the emotional and psychological side of healing, including how fear, over-testing, and hyper-focus on data can actually slow progress. Instead, Curtis encourages a mindset shift of seeing symptoms as signals and “everything as an opportunity” to understand and support the body more effectively. The episode closes with a grounded reminder: healing is nuanced, individualized, and requires guidance, especially when using powerful tools like peptides. #154 Heathar Shepard: PUFAs, Thyroid Dysfunction & the Low-Carb Trap

Send us Fan Mail If you’re doing everything right like eating clean, working out, cutting carbs, and you're still dealing with weight gain, fatigue, or stubborn thyroid symptoms, then this conversation might shift everything. In this episode, Heather Shepard of EatHealFarm returns to the pod to share her deep dive into polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), what they are, where they’re hiding (hint: almost everywhere), and how they can quietly disrupt thyroid function, slow metabolism, and drive weight gain. We explore: – Why seed oils + processed foods are one of the biggest metabolic disruptors – How PUFAs can block thyroid hormone signaling and contribute to estrogen imbalance – The connection between low-carb diets, fasting, and thyroid suppression – Why many people feel worse, not better, on extreme diets like keto or carnivore – The role of carbohydrates, dairy, and calcium in supporting metabolic health – What’s really going on with store-bought eggs, chicken, and pork (and why sourcing matters) – How to begin reducing PUFA load without becoming obsessive – Simple ways to assess thyroid function at home (without expensive labs) We also explore a perspective that often gets missed: This isn’t about eliminating foods out of fear; it’s about restoring balance. Your body isn’t broken. But it does respond to the inputs you give it: light, food, minerals, and stress. And for many people, healing starts with: → lowering the PUFA burden → supporting the thyroid with adequate fuel (yes, carbs matter) → and moving away from extremes toward a more ancestral, rhythmic way of eating If you’ve been stuck in cycles of restriction, burnout, or confusion around fats and carbs… this episode will give you a completely new lens. #153 Morley Robbins on Copper, Iron & the Truth About Energy

Send us Fan Mail We focus so much on hormones, gut health, detox… …but underneath all of it is something deeper: your mineral balance. In this episode with Morley Robbins, we unpack why so many people are still struggling with fatigue, hormone issues, and chronic symptoms—despite “doing everything right.” Here’s the shift: Most people are told to take more iron… ➡️ But iron overload is often the real problem Most people fear copper… ➡️ But copper is what regulates iron and drives energy production When this balance is off, your body can’t properly recycle iron → leading to oxidative stress, inflammation, and low energy. We dive into: • How mitochondria actually produce energy • Why stress depletes magnesium + disrupts your system • The hidden risks of excess vitamin D (hello potassium loss 👀) • Why your labs can look “normal” but you still feel off • The connection between emotional stress + mineral depletion This conversation really challenges the conventional narrative around: iron, anemia, cholesterol, and supplementation. Because it’s not just about what you take… it’s about how your body is functioning. If you’ve been stuck in cycles of: “Why don’t I feel better even though I’m doing all the things?” 👉 This episode will give you a completely new lens.
