This Week on Capitol Hill - Marking the 25th Anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks ... and Updates from Dallas on the GOP's Midterm Convention

We look back 25 years to the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001 with personal remembrances from Newsmax chief Washington correspondent JAMES ROSEN along with a look at lessons America learned on that tragic day. TONY PERKINS offers a commentary on how the 9/11 attacks “were acts of premeditated evil by followers of an ideology that hates what America was founded upon. Congresswoman ERIN HOUCHIN (R-IN) reports from Dallas—site of the RNC’s first Midterm Convention—on the enthusiasm powering attendees to win the November 3rd Midterms. Congressman SCOTT PERRY (R-PA) offers the latest on the Iran war…and bemoans how “biased media blame America, not Iran” for the conflict; he adds that “we could use some honest reporting on the threat of a “nuclear” Iran. And Louisiana Attorney General LIZ MURRILL gives details on how the abortion-pill industry is operating on a Biden-era “superhighway” sending abortion pills by mail into pro-life states like hers in violation of state laws. All this—and more—coming up on our latest edition of THIS WEEK ON CAPITOL HILL with Tony Perkins, sponsored by AARP. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

VOMRadio - From Parliament to Persecuted Christian: Standing Firm in Jesus, Encouraged By God's Word

Earlier this year, the Supreme Court of Finland found Päivi Räsänen guilty under a legal statute concerning "War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity." Räsänen has been a member of Finland's parliament since 1995 and is a former Minister of the Interior for the nation. Her "crime" was writing lessons for her church clearly communicating what the Bible says about human sexuality. The criminal case against Räsänen—a medical doctor, wife and grandmother—began in 2019 when she posted a picture to social media showing her Bible open to Romans 1:24-27, with a caption asking why her church's leaders had signed on to co-sponsor a "Pride" event. A police investigation recommended no charges be brought; the prosecutor brought charges anyway and then appealed not one but two lower-court findings of innocence. Listen as Räsänen shares her incredible story of Christian persecution in a Western democracy that claims to protect religious freedom and where a majority of the people identify as Christians. She will also share how God has encouraged her through the Scriptures and through fellowship with other members of the Body of Christ. She'll give an update on her legal case, which she has now appealed to the European Court of Human Rights. The VOM App for your smartphone or tablet will help you pray daily for persecuted Christians in nations like North Korea, Nigeria, China, and Iran, as well as provide free access to e-books, audiobooks, video content, and feature films. New Life LIVE - New Life LIVE: September 11, 2026

Caller Questions & Discussion: Dr. Jill explains why remembering 9/11 matters as we mark the 25th anniversary: we honor those who died and remember so we don’t repeat history. Throughout the Bible, God’s people created memorials to remember what God did during difficult times. Remembering a tragedy also honors that part of us that lived through it. My best friend of 40 years has stayed in a miserable marriage with an unfaithful husband for 10 years. They’re deeply in debt, and I’ve given them a large sum of money to help. Am I a terrible friend if I tell her I’m angry, or am I hiding if I don’t? How do I move forward as a Christian with my parents who get offended the minute anyone else does something wrong? My mom didn’t answer my calls after I moved. When she finally did, she just talked about the weather.
