LoveTalk Network - Episode 614: AI Companions: Friend or Foe? - Audio

72% of US teens have tried AI Companions yet parents largely are in the dark to this technology. A nationally representative survey found AI Companions engaged in manipulation, dishonesty, pressure to reveal secrets, inappropriate conversations, and encouragement of harmful behavior. When does AI cross over from being a homework assistant to beginning to form psychological dependence? Dr. Jason Thacker joins Cathy and Coach Kerri to discuss how we can keep this technology in it proper place and enjoy its usefulness without getting caught up in unhealthy engagement. We asked Dr. Thacker, "Is an AI Companion a Friend or a Foe?" His response - "It is neither, it is a machine and we must stop using human terminology as we engage with the technology." Join us for this needed conversation and wisdom as we dig into this new application of AI during a loneliness epidemic and become equipped to step in and be the light we are called to be.

This Week on Capitol Hill - Speaker Johnson Laments: "It Isn't Unlawful for Crazy People to be Elected"

Live from the campaign trail in Austin, Texas…U.S. House Speaker MIKE JOHNSON updates the latest Midterms news including new developments in the battle over mail-in ballots and more radicals winning primary elections even in red states like Oklahoma; he deems the trend dangerous and calls on conservatives to turn out and stand up for America on November 3rd. ELIZABETH MITCHELL, White House correspondent for The Daily Signal, says President DONALD J. TRUMP really flexed his political muscle on behalf of his endorsed candidates in South Carolina and Oklahoma…and zeroes-in on U.S./Canada trade tensions. Joining us from Kyiv, PAVLO UNGURYAN—former Ukraine parliament member—recaps this week’s national prayer breakfast there and the latest military strikes on the capital by Russia. Congressman RICK CRAWFORD (R-AR), chairman of the House Select Committee on Intelligence, looks at the June 2028 trial date set for 9/11 terrorist Khalid Sheik Mohammad; “It has taken 25 years, but at long last he will face his day in court”; Chairman Crawford also warns of the need to shore up “weaknesses, gaps and vulnerabilities” in our intelligence community to ensure that another 9/11 cannot happen. And TONY PERKINS (just back from a trip to Ukraine) declares in his commentary that as Christians we must pray for Ukraine, where our brothers and sisters in Christ are targeted by Russia for torture and death. All this—and more—coming up on our latest edition of THIS WEEK ON CAPITOL HILL with Tony Perkins, sponsored by AARP. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

VOMRadio - The Living Word for Every Tribe, Tongue, and Nation

The gospel worker from China was stunned by how many biblical resources were available to Christians in America. He created a plan to scan one Bible commentary onto CDs that could be carried back into China and copied for underground Christians there. But he needed help. He reached out to find a more technically-capable person to help with the process—and an international ministry was birthed! Ken Bitgood was the young man recruited to help with that scanning project. Today he and Digital Bible Society are distributing Scripture resources in more than 4,500 languages! When Ken first became a follower of Jesus, he was encouraged to live in God's Word. He'll tell how he did that (with the help of a car stereo) and how it birthed in him a passion to see people of all nations, tribes, and tongues access the riches of the Bible and Christian resources to encourage and edify the Body of Christ around the world. In their 25th year of ministry, the Digital Bible Society is working alongside more than 400 organizations to distribute resources, free and free to copy, in over 6,000 languages. Ken will share a story of a man from Beijing he met at a conference, who pointed to the DBS resources and said, "This is what put me in jail!" You'll hear more of Ken's heart to see laborers in the harvest fields as he shares his belief that every language should have God's Word translated for them in his lifetime. Visit the Bible Access List to learn more about where there is a shortage of Bibles and places that are restricted from having God's Word. The VOM App for your smartphone or tablet will help you pray daily for persecuted Christians in nations like North Korea, Nigeria, China, and Iran, as well as provide free access to e-books, audiobooks, video content, and feature films.
