    "From Bogota Columbia" by Steve Adams Two years ago, I was troubleshooting a very technical problem for a customer. While my experience is substantial, I will use tech support when necessary. On this occasion, I had a very capable technician. We would have time to chat some as the process worked out and I enjoyed the side banter and shared stories. We exchanged email and continued the discussion for a few days. This week, I received a new email from Christian. I was stunned because it had been over a year since we last spoke, but his mail told me he was from Bogota, Columbia and that he just graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree. His first day at his new job was yesterday and he sent some pictures of the commencement and some of his family’s farm. I have spoken about the impact we have on others before, but this surprise email from a newly degreed engineer from South America reminded me yet again that we have the power to influence people either negatively or positively.     Nov 2 How Christian Americans Vote Tomorrow is election day. My guiding principles for voting? Pro-life Christian, Biblical values, constitutional freedoms, limited government, fiscal responsibility, personal accountability, and the protection of families. So for both the House and the Senate, I'm voting Republican all the way. I favor conservative approaches to protecting unborn human life, defending constitutional rights, limited government overreach. Here in Virginia, I'm voting no on all three questions. Question one, "Reproductive freedom." That means killing babies for any reason at any time. NO! Question two, "Marriage freedom?" That means enshrining sodomy as a holy sacrament. NO! Question three, "Restoration of rights for felons?" Much more than voting rights. The additional rights go way too far. NO!     Nov 3 Real Americans must vote today In the movie, "Apocalypse Now," one of the most famous lines was from Colonel Kurtz. He said, "When I saw that the enemy will do to us that which we simply will not do to them, I knew they would win." The 2026 midterms are showing that once again. Last Sunday night, 60 Minutes ran a segment on an illegal alien that was shipped back to Africa. We later found out that the whole story was fictitious. In Alaska, the Democrats are running Dan Sullivan as an independent, who happens to have the same name as the Republican Senator Dan Sullivan. And of course, the idea is to confuse enough voters that the Democrat Mary Peltola will win. No wonder the Democrats are fighting so hard for non-citizens to vote.     Nov 4 Cunning Somalis Yesterday a friend of mine asked, how can the Somalis, from the time they arrived in America, defraud American taxpayers of billions and billions of dollars? How can they be that intelligent? I answered, no, it's not intelligence, it's cunning. They've had to rely on cunning for millennia because there are no natural resources in Somaliland. If you've seen Black Hawk Down, you saw how the warlords were taking the food that was delivered for the Somali people and using it instead as a profit center.     Nov 5 Refugees we are forced to support When our ancestors arrived at Ellis Island, no one met the ship with a benefits package. Our ancestors came with a trade, a skill, maybe a little cash, whatever they could carry, and a relative who could answer for them. There was no Medicaid, there was no food stamp office, people didn't have to pay taxes to bring them in and to establish them, and if they were likely to be something negative, we'd ship them back. The ones who stayed built our country. They laid track, cut cloth, opened shops, and raised children who could speak English and pay taxes. That was the bargain. America offered the chance. The immigrant did the work. When did that bargain die? When Washington decided being a refugee was a humanitarian stamp. It was a claim on Americans' paychecks and the right to live off strangers.     Don’t Pass the Buck by Steve Adams I have some wooded area behind my house and I find it quite relaxing to work on projects there. It is nice to leave the clutter of work and phones behind for the sights and sounds of the natural world. Fall is here and I noticed yesterday that the leaves were softly falling as gentle breezes swept through the canopy high above. I sat on a log and just watched as the squirrels scurried around gathering nuts and an owl screeched and flew from one perch to another. Close to my seat was a smaller tree with fresh scrape marks indicating that the bucks are shedding their velvet. As I continued the experience, I noticed a silent stir of the bushes about 30 yards up the 4-wheeler trail. To my amazement, a young eight pointer stepped out, cocked his head and stood watching me as intently as I was watching him. He ambled off eventually toward his own destination. It was a moment I wouldn't trade for anything—and a buck I was certainly glad not to pass.     Oct 26 Not saving the baby Several years ago, Jamie Farr won an Academy Award for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the movie "Ray." The movie begins with him as a little boy watching his brother drown. Ray could have done something about it, but he simply watched his brother drown. And a lot of moviegoers wondered, "why did he save his brother? He just watched him drown." I've discovered that Christians are pretty much the same, and Christian pastors are pathetically the same. In almost every election, we have pro-life candidates versus candidates who support killing the pre-born babies. Christians could simply vote that we don't kill the pre-born babies, but instead they don't vote at all. And the babies are killed, just like Ray Charles' little brother drowned. 75% of Christians would not save the baby. 95% of their pastors would not tell them to save the baby. Pfizer executive Jordan Trish De Walker said there's something irregular about vaccinated women's menstrual cycles and people should investigate it. Conspiracy theorists like Naomi Wolf were called crazy for noticing what women were screaming from the rooftops! But the data proves the women were right all along. 42% of women with regular cycles reported heavier bleeding than usual after they were vaccinated. 71% of women on birth control experienced breakthrough bleeding. 66% of menopausal women who stopped bleeding started bleeding again.     Oct 21 Bringing old misery to new places Have you been watching the riots in France? Looks like America's future, if we import enough Islamists. The rioters in Paris are burning buildings, vandalizing property, they're looting and roaming and reckless mobs, and they're assaulting people. Just looking at them from the outside, none of them look French. In fact, they look more like the people who have been invading the Spanish port city of Cuerta. Every last one of them looks like they're from other countries, which makes sense as France has encouraged and enabled mass immigration to go untethered in their country for the past few decades. Retirees and those nearing retirement worry that they will outlive their savings. They are opting to sell the houses they had expected to live out their years in and putting most of the equity into retirement accounts. They free themselves of mortgage payments, property taxes, and other expenses associated with home ownership. Then they buy used manufacturer homes in mobile home parks which they can use at home basis to return to after they travel to visit relatives, visit America's national parks, take cruises, etc. They can enjoy the luxuries of life instead of pinching pennies.     "Tomato Soup and other cost savings" by Steve Adams George Caylor and I were talking one Sunday afternoon and he invited us over to enjoy some tomato soup and grilled cheese. I laughed and told him that was OUR longstanding Sunday lunch tradition too. After we hung up, I started to realize how things we do repeatedly, sometimes unknowingly, become traditions. That realization made me reflect on the difference between a meaningful tradition and a costly habit. Years ago, I watched coworkers walk in with a designer coffee and two bottles of soda. I looked at my own store-bought coffee and I realized that item which I traditionally bought every morning was costing a fortune over time. I switched to brewing coffee at home, stopped eating out daily and invested the savings. Tradition is beautiful because it grounds us in where we came from. But it is wise to review those things that are daily habits. Having said that, I would be hard pressed to forgo my weekly tomato soup and grilled cheese…I can cook mine to taste right here at home!
