    Don’t Pass the Buck by Steve Adams I have some wooded area behind my house and I find it quite relaxing to work on projects there. It is nice to leave the clutter of work and phones behind for the sights and sounds of the natural world. Fall is here and I noticed yesterday that the leaves were softly falling as gentle breezes swept through the canopy high above. I sat on a log and just watched as the squirrels scurried around gathering nuts and an owl screeched and flew from one perch to another. Close to my seat was a smaller tree with fresh scrape marks indicating that the bucks are shedding their velvet. As I continued the experience, I noticed a silent stir of the bushes about 30 yards up the 4-wheeler trail. To my amazement, a young eight pointer stepped out, cocked his head and stood watching me as intently as I was watching him. He ambled off eventually toward his own destination. It was a moment I wouldn't trade for anything—and a buck I was certainly glad not to pass.     Oct 26 Not saving the baby Several years ago, Jamie Farr won an Academy Award for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the movie "Ray." The movie begins with him as a little boy watching his brother drown. Ray could have done something about it, but he simply watched his brother drown. And a lot of moviegoers wondered, "why did he save his brother? He just watched him drown." I've discovered that Christians are pretty much the same, and Christian pastors are pathetically the same. In almost every election, we have pro-life candidates versus candidates who support killing the pre-born babies. Christians could simply vote that we don't kill the pre-born babies, but instead they don't vote at all. And the babies are killed, just like Ray Charles' little brother drowned. 75% of Christians would not save the baby. 95% of their pastors would not tell them to save the baby. Conspiracy theorists like Naomi Wolf were called crazy for noticing what women were screaming from the rooftops! But the data proves the women were right all along. 42% of women with regular cycles reported heavier bleeding than usual after they were vaccinated. 71% of women on birth control experienced breakthrough bleeding. 66% of menopausal women who stopped bleeding started bleeding again.     Oct 21 Bringing old misery to new places Have you been watching the riots in France? Looks like America's future, if we import enough Islamists. The rioters in Paris are burning buildings, vandalizing property, they're looting and roaming and reckless mobs, and they're assaulting people. Just looking at them from the outside, none of them look French. In fact, they look more like the people who have been invading the Spanish port city of Cuerta. Every last one of them looks like they're from other countries, which makes sense as France has encouraged and enabled mass immigration to go untethered in their country for the past few decades. Is the chaos in France a role model for what our government has in mind for us? I really don't mind Muslims looking for a better life in new countries. Retirees and those nearing retirement worry that they will outlive their savings. They are opting to sell the houses they had expected to live out their years in and putting most of the equity into retirement accounts. They free themselves of mortgage payments, property taxes, and other expenses associated with home ownership. Then they buy used manufacturer homes in mobile home parks which they can use at home basis to return to after they travel to visit relatives, visit America's national parks, take cruises, etc. They can enjoy the luxuries of life instead of pinching pennies.     "Tomato Soup and other cost savings" by Steve Adams George Caylor and I were talking one Sunday afternoon and he invited us over to enjoy some tomato soup and grilled cheese. I laughed and told him that was OUR longstanding Sunday lunch tradition too. After we hung up, I started to realize how things we do repeatedly, sometimes unknowingly, become traditions. That realization made me reflect on the difference between a meaningful tradition and a costly habit. Years ago, I watched coworkers walk in with a designer coffee and two bottles of soda. I looked at my own store-bought coffee and I realized that item which I traditionally bought every morning was costing a fortune over time. I switched to brewing coffee at home, stopped eating out daily and invested the savings. Tradition is beautiful because it grounds us in where we came from. But it is wise to review those things that are daily habits. Having said that, I would be hard pressed to forgo my weekly tomato soup and grilled cheese…I can cook mine to taste right here at home!     Oct 19 Importing our destruction I was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia a few years ago, visiting with a Chinese Christian friend. And he said the Chinese, even though they're the businessmen of Malaysia, have fewer rights now. I asked why. He said, "well, mainly because we Chinese have one or perhaps two children. The Muslims have 10, and they've outnumbered us so much that we now have no rights." We see that happening wherever Muslims are imported. And in America, we're about to see what's happening in Europe. When I lived in Germany, a Muslim neighbor stabbed his wife to death because she was interested in Christianity. The people of Spain, France, England, and Germany are wondering why they imported Muslims. And I think America is going to begin to wonder that really soon. But will it be too late?     Oct 12 SPLC bigotry Do you remember Joe Biden's incoherent speeches when he would always add, "America's worst enemy is white supremacy!!" I really got tired of that. I don't know any white supremacists, and I don't think he did either. But I wonder how many people of all races had their lives and careers turned upside down. after the race-grifting Southern Poverty Law Center. The leader of my mission group that works with the poorest of the poor in Africa was labeled by the SPLC as a hater. Why? Because in an interview he said "a marriage should be between one man and one woman." It didn't matter that he was serving people from all races and religions, and providing free medical care.     Oct 13 10 year-old Immaturity of DSA voters A friend and I had a good laugh when his ten-year-old son asked his dad for a new car. I don't think the kid knew that that was impractical and, since he was only ten, he was too immature to even have a car. Last week I saw where the White House Council of Economic Advisers counted up the cost of the programs that the Democrat Socialists of America wanted. What will those programs cost us? $52.8 trillion over the next eight years! Not only that, the DSA wants to abolish the police and the prison system. The DSA is like that ten-year-old kid. Every free promise they have comes back as a higher mortgage rate, a bigger tax bill, a smaller paycheck, and a deadlier street. I'm still trying to figure out why America allowed hundreds of thousands of immigrants to enter our country, knowing that the culture they were from was poison to our culture. But we brought them in and now they're here. I recently saw Somali influencers say, "Why would you mention the word Somali in connection with someone who committed a crime? A crime is a crime. You don't have to say the word Somali." I took exception to that. Last week a Somali bought a gun, lots of ammunition, and planned to kill dozens of people. Happily, he was caught, and the news people did say he was Somali. But doesn't it seem to you that 99% of Somalians are giving the other 1% a bad reputation?     Oct 15 Losing the War on Poverty Here's attorney Diane Gruber. There was no homelessness when I was growing up in East Wenatchee, Washington. As I was coming of age, the tax code changed, sucking twice the amount from working class Americans. Democrat President Johnson and his Democrat House and Senate promised Americans that their war on poverty tax increases would end poverty. Ha! It was a war on earners. In 1970, the poverty rate was 12.6. It never got below 11 until Trump 45 lowered it to 10.5. Then Trump 47 lowered it to 10.2 percent. Before Democrats raised taxes, most families could and did live comfortably on one income, as did my family of five.     "Hot Job" by Steve Adams I received a priority call about 10:00 PM Saturday night. It seems that with the recent storms and power outages, the main HVAC unit at a local church was not working. My friend was understandably concerned and he knew I was familiar with their system. We started looking at possible causes. It was rather toasty with the inside temp being close to 80 F and no air movement. We checked various parts of the system and, in the process, cycled power to the air handler. We realized that the reset was effective in bringing the system back up and we started testing it. The event was wholly enjoyable but time consuming. As we waited for different parts of the system to activate, we told stories and compared life experiences. Casey and I were both hot with sweat dripping into our eyes as we felt the cool air start to circulate.     Oct 7 Who are the mass shooters? When you hear about a mass shooting, the media generally blames the gun. Next, they blame conservatives. But have you really looked at who's doing the mass shootings? You know, the left-wing media, social media sensors call the shooters domestic terrorists or white conservative extremists, maybe white supremacists. But if you look at the actual shooters, most of them aren't white. None of them carried a concealed permit and none that we're aware of belong to the NRA. No, almost all were affiliated or registered with the Democrat Party. And if you look at the statistics from the World Health Organization, you'll learn that America ranks 110th in murder rates.
