    Sept 1 Why Dems won't win in November Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court moved to allow President Donald Trump to implement key portions of his executive order on mail-in voting ahead of the November midterm election. The decision, which was 6-3, with the Court's liberal justices descending, of course, will permit the Department of Homeland Security to compile a federal citizenship list and share it with the states. It will allow the Attorney General to prioritize prosecution of state officials who issue ballots to ineligible voters. And it will greenlight U.S. Postal Service rulemaking for state mail-in ballot designs. Will this mean less election ballot fraud this November?     "Decisions" by Steve Adams I was talking with a friend recently who is struggling financially. They are down to one income and are doing their best to balance the situation against their own needs and wants. Darrel was lamenting a tough decision he had to make last year and was questioning the logic of that move. In my 40 years of professional life, one of the most frequent problems I see is the inability of people to make decisions. They either try to please everyone or fail to take the best facts they have and, many times, they fail to do anything. I understand the fear of being wrong, but I also understand the challenges of being indecisive. I always told my interns, using the best information you have at the time, do not be afraid to make a decision. If you find out later that the decision needs modification, then change it.     August 24 Not so great society The Great Society was an ambitious series of policy initiatives, legislation, and programs spearheaded by President Lyndon B. Johnson. Democrats owned the House and the Senate and the White House. And in May 1964, Johnson laid out his agenda for the Great Society, ending poverty, ending crime, abolishing inequality. It turned out to be an abject failure, which transferred money from the earners who themselves needed it to take care of their families, and created a society of fatherless homes. And worse, crime increased. And as far as abolishing inequality, it eventually led to the disastrous DEI policies, which divided Americans into tribes based on skin color and taught them to hate each other. Who wouldn't want to be healed? But that question was designed to make that man reflect on his own desire and readiness for change. I've encountered the same homeless people where every agency involved can document that they did something.Someone made contact, did an assessment, handed out a brochure, entered the person's name into a database. But then weeks later, person's on the same sidewalk. It's one of the big failures of the homeless system.It rewards activity, not results. Government agencies and nonprofits regularly publish reports filled with impressive numbers. They count outreach visits, meals served, but they don't show that anybody escaped homelessness.     "Global Springhouse" by Steve Adams As I walked through our hallway this morning, I stopped to look at a picture of my Grandmother. Her smiling face looked back at me, just like I remember from my childhood. She was born in West Virginia in 1913. I still remember us having long talks about them getting indoor plumbing, moving food from the springhouse to their new refrigerator or the Model T fighting its way up the snow-covered mountain pass in Winter. As a boy in the 80s, I thought her stories were amazing since I had all the “modern” conveniences and could only muse over life in a “simpler day”. Here I am in 2026 writing this program on a laptop. It will be sent via Internet and radio around the world, evaluated by AI algorithms and offered to ESL classes on six continents… I lost my Grandmother in 2008, but aside from that smiling picture, this story about her amazing life and her living legacy in me will travel the globe.     "Over Africa" by Steve Adams After a day’s layover, we boarded the 747 in Frankfurt for the overnight trip to Johannesburg. By now, I was a seasoned traveler, so the trip was exciting, but I was also anxious about what to expect in South Africa. I knew so little about the continent, but I had high expectations of semi-arid savannah and exotic wildlife. The flight out of Germany was uneventful as I ate the evening meal. Soon after, I settled in and enjoyed the view of city lights inching past us some 35,000 feet below. I dozed off and awoke sometime later to resume my night time scenery watching. Instead of the lights of civilization, there were only moonlit, rolling clouds lit by occasional, distant flashes of lightning. There, suspended in the quiet dark high over Africa, an old song crept into my mind. I found myself smiling in the dark, quietly blessing the rains down in Africa—some of life's best adventures begin simply by looking out the window.     August 18 Men are not women In the 1970s and on into the 1980s, the world was astounded and disgusted to learn that East Germany was using men in the women's competitions at the Olympics. Those men were given female hormones so that they would grow breasts and take on features of women, but they were still men. And they were winning gold medals as women. It was decided that all athletes would be checked for their chromosomes. Were they XX or XY? We discovered that the women were actually men. Common sense took over back then. We knew that God didn't design women to compete against men. So why is it that we have to go back again for such a fundamental and easy choice?     August 19 Social Insecurity at 67 In 1983, Congress passed a law that official retirement age will be 67 and that will begin this November. A lot of people are upset with that because they want to retire sooner than that. As for me, I'm 82 and I still work full time. Why? Because I love my job and my clients, my clients love me, and this is fun. But the thing is, Social Security ran out of money long ago. Congress has been using the funds there as their slush fund. And we've been using our retirement money for every stupid thing we could think of because it was there. But I do feel bad for those who have to wait to age 67 because we didn't have to wait. Seems like a strange name for a sitcom, but I think we have another name for Just Shoot Me. "Queers for Palestine." That is, the homosexual community is supporting Palestine in Palestine's fight against Israel. Don't American queers know what happens to queers in Palestine? Maybe they haven't been watching the news. In Islamic countries, queers are killed. But that isn't just in Arab countries. Last week in Berlin, a car driven by an Islamist drove through a crowd of homosexuals, killed two, and injured several more. Christians are being pilloried for asking homosexuals to leave their destructive lifestyle and embrace Jesus. But in Islam, they simply kill them.     August 17 Apathetic Christians killing America 95% of voting-age Muslims in America vote. 25% of voting-age Christians in America vote. What does that say about Christians? What does that say about Muslims? Tragically, a whole lot. Muslims care about bringing about Sharia, which will essentially ban Christianity, and our Judeo-Christian culture altogether. It will ban our Constitution. And it shows that Muslims deeply care about their faith.
