Today · 2 minBe Still and Know Daily Bible Devotion - September 18th - Psalm 133:1-2
Psalm 133:1-2 How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. It’s always inspiring to see unity at work. Whatever the organisation, it is encouraging to see a group of people working effectively and happily together. Whether it’s a football team, a school, business, family or church, it is a blessing to see everyone working together in harmony. The thought of anointing oil being poured over a person sounds quite sticky and messy to me, but it’s clearly intended as a picture of generous blessing. As the oil falls down, everyone can smell the beautiful fragrance and share in the joy of unity. Whatever way you look at it, unity is something to be celebrated. The beauty of unity should inspire us all and encourage us to do two things. Firstly, we need to receive the unity that God longs to give us and which we discover as we live our lives more closely to Him. Then, secondly, we need to put in the hard work of looking after that precious gift. The apostle Paul wrote: “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3). Day by day, we need to look for ways of promoting unity, through our prayers, love, encouragement and kindness. It’s hard work, but the results are beautiful and inspiring for all to see. Question What can you do to promote unity in your church and family? Prayer Loving God, thank you for the gift of unity. Help me to go out of my way to maintain and strengthen unity today. Amen

They also talk about the growing power of AI, the tech world's obsession with overcoming human limits, and why some limitations may actually be good for us. Yesterday · 24 minBack to the Bible Canada with Dr. John Neufeld - The End of the Beginning: The Post Resurrection Ministry of Jesus
During his final 40 days, Jesus reviews Scripture with the apostles, teaching that his suffering, death, and resurrection stand at the center of everything Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms foretold (Luke 24:44-49). Dr. John pushes back on modern attempts to recast Jesus as a political revolutionary or social reformer, insisting his real message — repentance and forgiveness through the cross — is what he entrusted to the apostles to build the church upon. The End of the Beginning: Everyone knows how this story ends — Jesus is crucified, buried, and rises again. But in this 15-part series through Luke 23-24, Dr. John Neufeld shows why these familiar chapters still reward careful study, tracing the trials before Pilate and Herod and the road to the cross. Along the way, he uncovers details unique to Luke's account that reveal what kind of King Jesus truly is.

All at once an angel touched him and said, ‘Get up and eat.’…He ate and drank and then lay down again” (1 Kings 19:5-6 NIV). What does God say to the sad and weary? Be refreshed. God told Elijah to eat and sleep. The drama on Mt. Carmel. The execution of the false priests. The twenty-seven-mile run in front of Ahab’s chariot. He had reason to be depleted. God rested on the seventh day. The world didn’t collapse when he took a Sabbath. It won’t fall apart if you do the same. Yesterday · 36 minTake 2 Theology - Galatians | From Slaves to Sons
Season 3, Episode 6 In this episode, Michael and Zach continue their series through Galatians by examining Paul’s movement from slavery to sonship in Galatians 4:1–11. Paul describes God’s people under the Law as heirs who, while still under guardianship, function much like servants awaiting the time appointed by the Father. But when the fullness of time came, God sent His Son to redeem those under the Law and bring them into His family through adoption. The discussion explores what Paul means by the “elemental things of the world,” the significance of Christ being born under the Law, and the remarkable privilege of believers receiving the Spirit and crying, “Abba, Father.” Michael and Zach then examine Paul’s warning that the Galatians’ return to religious observance as a basis for righteousness is not spiritual progress but a return to slavery. The episode ultimately asks why Christians would try to gain through religious performance what God has already freely given them in Christ: sonship, belonging, and an inheritance.
