Welcome! I have a knack for explaining stuff and I want to share some knowledge with you.

I received a BA in chemistry from Carleton College, and performed graduate studies in both synthetic organic chemistry and science education at Cal State Northridge, receiving an MA in the latter. Prior to this I taught for about a decade in various high school and undergraduate settings, specializing in organic chemistry but also teaching general chemistry, physics, and biology.

This channel is for students at the high school and undergraduate level, but it is also for members of the general public who just want to know more about the world and how things work. My goal is to increase science literacy in our society, so please share these tutorials with anyone that you think might enjoy them. Happy learning!

    Three-Dimensional Shapes Part 2: Calculating Volume

    We introduced a number of three-dimensional shapes in the last clip, but we still just talked about two-dimensional surface area. What's up with that? Alright, alright, let's learn how to calculate the three-dimensional volume that a shape will occupy. This is like the amount of water that a shape could hold if it was perfectly hollow. This can be a little tricky for the more complicated shapes, but there are equations we can memorize if we so desire. Check it out!     EPA Head Lee Zeldin is a Freaking Nightmare

    Trump's second-term cabinet is the stuff of nightmares. I've talked about Bobby Kennedy's dismantling of HHS quite a bit, but it's not just public health that is in shambles under this administration. The environment is on the chopping block as well, especially under new EPA head Lee Zeldin. The person who is supposed to be in charge of protecting the citizenry by preventing the private sector from polluting our air and water is actively siding with the polluters and making sure they have all the freedom to pollute as much as they want.
