Dr Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Michael Ots In his work in universities around Europe, Michael regularly interacts with some of the biggest objections to the Christian faith. We will look at what the biggest objections are and consider a number of principles that will help us go about responding to them in a way that clearly and warmly points people to Jesus as the 'reason for the hope that we have.' Michael Ots grew up in the UK and started following Jesus at a young age. Living in one of the most multicultural cities in the country he was challenged to consider whether his childhood faith was worth continuing in and whether it stood up to serious questioning. His school years were a significant time when he grew in the conviction that Christianity is objectively true and worth sharing with others. After studying theology in Scotland, Michael went on to become the Minister of Evangelism at Lansdowne Baptist Church in Bournemouth, where he lived and worked for five years before becoming a travelling speaker. Michael’s passion comes from his own understanding of Christianity and how it informs every area of life, from questions of morality and ethics, to reasons for hope and justice. Michael is regularly invited to speak on the Christian Faith at University Events and Christian Unions both in the UK and across Europe. He is the Field Director of FEUER (The Fellowship of Evangelistis in the Universities of Europe) - a continent wide network of evangelists seeking to promote the public proclamation of the Gospel in the universities of Europe. He is on the extended regional team of IFES. He is also a member of the Association of Evangelists - a UK charity that supports freelance evangelists. Michael is the author of numerous books including What Kind of God? which was nominated for a major UK book award and has been translated into seven languages, as well as But is it true?, What Kind of Hope? and his latest release, Making Sense of Life. Many believers seem unaware of the spiritual battle that is present in their workplaces. The enemy’s job description is to rob, kill and destroy and that includes sabotaging our work. Though there is no blueprint for how to pray strategically for our areas of responsibility, we need to recognise and use the weapons in our armoury. This is a battle that God equips us to both fight and win! Bev is a management trainer and developmental coach, specialising in the areas of leadership, team dynamics, conflict resolution and stress resilience. Her clients include manufacturing organisations, the NHS, local government, charities, and church leaders. She has worked alongside LICC for over 25 years as an associate speaker. In 2011 she initiated their prayer journeys, designed to motivate, encourage and equip Christians to pray in and for their workplaces. Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Dr Bob Meyer In this presentation, Dr Bob explores: The need and the opportunities available for short-term dental missions to serve the under-resourced dentally, using it as a door opener for spreading the gospel. Shows how to do quality dental care comfortably and safely in austere environments, transportable in three 50-pound airline checked bags, which can be set up in a few minutes. Acknowledge that dental extractions and fillings generally require no follow-up, minimal medication, and solve acute pain and infection problems immediately. Shares opportunities to train indigenous people to extract teeth in one week, where there is little access to care. Shows how team members benefit from service. Colonel (Retired) Robert Meyer, the Executive Director of the Christian Dental Society, received his B.S. from the U.S. Military Academy, and his DMD from the University of Oregon. He commanded the only airborne dental unit, deployed dental teams globally, and finished a 32-year Army career directing an AEGD residency program, before entering private practice. Dr. Bob, a humble servant, has led 90 dental teams to under-resourced people in 45 countries for 30 years, and volunteers in local and state dental clinics. Professor Rylance will be sharing thoughts about the nature of Whole Person Care, evidence for the benefits, and how it can be taught. Professor Rylance has been a Consultant in General and Renal Medicine in Wolverhampton, UK. Throughout his career he has led medical education, as Postgraduate Clinical Tutor and then Head of the Undergraduate Academy and is Honorary Professor in the University of Birmingham. As a dentist, you may encounter these patients in your practice presenting with dental pain, oral trauma, sexually transmitted infections, or other oral health concerns. This webinar will equip you to identify and respond to potential trafficking victims, recognise trauma triggers in the dental setting, and implement a trauma-informed approach to dental care. Hedwin is an Indonesian dentist with postgraduate study in Oral Medicine. He was born again in 2007, and since then has been involved in local and national student ministry through IFES and CMDF Indonesia. He is married to Ruth, a cardiologist, and they have two sons. In October 2016, he was appointed as an AEO for ICMDA's South East Asia student and junior graduate ministry; this was expanded to cover the Oceania region in 2020 and the East Asia region in 2022. #303 Dr Chris Willmott - Genomics: The promise & peril of reading our DNA

Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Dr Chris Willmott The ability to read the DNA of humans, and other species, is radically altering healthcare offering, for example, more accurate diagnosis and prognosis, with the potential for more targeted “personalised” treatment. Elsewhere, the availability of “at home” DNA tests, such as those marketed by 23andMe and Ancestry, are revealing previously unknown details of family history and heritage. Having reviewed some of these uses, this talk will reflect on many of the ethical implications that emerge from these developments. Having completed a PhD on the molecular basis of resistance to antibacterials, Chris spent four years as a Staffworker with UCCF (the IFES movement in the UK). In 2000, he returned to the University of Leicester where he taught biochemistry and, increasingly, about the ethical implications of developments in biomedicine. Pete Halestrap is a Family Medicine doctor (GP) from the UK. He works in a local clinic providing primary care alongside training medical students and GP registrars. He previously spent 11 years working in AIC Kijabe Hospital, Kenya, where he served in several roles including as Director of Education and Research. He supervised the College of Health Sciences as well as numerous residency programmes and was involved in the initiation of several new medical training programmes. Webinar #301 Dr Dick Kruijthoff - Healing after prayer

Recorded on 11 June 2026 for ICMDA Webinars. Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Dr Dick Kruijthoff In his family practice Dick Kruijthoff was confronted with a remarkable healing during prayer, that gained nationwide interest in the Netherlands. He wondered what had happened. It took him to a 12 year study at the Free University in Amsterdam investigating 83 reports of a healing experience during or after prayer. Eleven of them were labelled as ‘medically remarkable’ by a medical assessment team. The team was surprised by the impressive holistic dimensions of the experiences. The study led to a dissertation in scientific English in 2023 and a book explaining the findings in understandable Dutch in 2025. Dick Kruijthoff graduated in medicine and family medicine at the Erasmus university in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Subsequently he gained a degree in tropical medicine in Antwerp, Belgium, after which he worked in rural hospitals in Botswana, South Africa and Kenya for over five years. Upon his return to the Netherlands he had his own family practice from 1992 until 2021. Kruijthoff acquired a degree in elderly medicine in 2010. For several years now, Tim has aimed to read over 100 books per year. He has achieved this six times and is currently on target to get there again this year! Tim also runs an online book club with some friends to discuss a book they read and agree what to read next. In this talk Tim will discuss: Why you should read? How you should read? What you should read? When you should read? The aim is to get you motivated to read more intentionally, to read more skilfully, and to make the most of your reading. Tim Dieppe is the Head of Public Policy at Christian Concern where he has worked for ten years. Tim regularly appears in the media and writes articles on current moral and political issues of interest to Christians. He also often teaches in churches and at various conferences and events. Tim is the author of The Challenge of Islam. This book discusses the increasing influence of Islam in the UK and how we can respond. Tim also co-authored the book Questions to Ask Your Muslim Friends with his friend and expert on Islamics Beth Peltola.
