How We Get Kids Eating Better Food | School Lunch, Organic Farms & Real Nutrition with Andrew Scott Johnson

This week I’m joined by Andrew Scott Johnson, Nourishment Programme Director at a private school in Laguna Beach, California, and a chef instructor with School of Lunch. Andrew is doing some seriously exciting work connecting children with real food, organic farms and the soil. We chat about scratch-made school lunches, organic vegetables, fermented foods, sourdough, animal protein, bone broth, local farms, sustainability and how Andrew is using food production as part of the children's education. We also get into Farm Fridays, taking children onto the farm, growing food specifically for the school and why pulling a carrot directly from the soil can completely change a child's understanding of where food comes from. Andrew also shares his approach to making healthier changes without trying to do everything at once. Make one thing better the next day and keep moving forward. That's a message I absolutely love. Stay classy. Keep it organic. Get on that good stuff.

Make Sure You’re Enjoying Life | My Health, Fitness & Organic Living Journey with Karen O’Sullivan

I was delighted to join my good friend Karen O’Sullivan on her Ordinary Extraordinary podcast for a proper catch-up and a chat about health, fitness, organic food, mental health, adventures and enjoying life. We go back around ten years, so we get into plenty — from how I ended up studying horticulture and working with farmers, to becoming a personal trainer, developing Organic Fitness and creating the events and adventures I’m involved in today. I share some of the things I do for my own health and wellbeing, including journaling, walking, weight training, grounding and getting enough sleep, as well as why I believe physical, mental and gut health are all connected. We also chat about the Camino, Strawberries & Cream, sea swims, positive people, getting outside your comfort zone and why: You won't know unless you go. But the biggest message for me is simple: Make sure you're actually enjoying life instead of just going through the motions. Have a laugh. Get outside. Do something challenging. Surround yourself with good people. And enjoy the journey. Stay classy. Keep it organic. Get on that good stuff.

Organic Cotton, Sustainable Clothing & Rising With Expectation | Ryan Doolin

In this episode of the Colman Power Organic Fitness Podcast, I’m joined by Ryan Doolin from Dulainn Apparel to chat about something I’ve been putting a lot more thought into myself — the clothing we wear and what actually goes into making it. Ryan shares the story behind Dulainn Apparel, why he chose organic cotton, where the name came from, and how his own journey through travel, nature, personal development, family and fatherhood led him to create a purpose-driven clothing brand. We get into: 🌱 Why Ryan chose organic cotton 👕 The difference between organic cotton and synthetic/polyester materials 🌍 Fast fashion, farming and sustainability 💧 Water, soil and the importance of organic farming 🧴 What sits against our skin every day 👶 Why Ryan paid particular attention to comfort for his children 🏔️ Nature-inspired colours, designs and the outdoors 🔥 The meaning behind “Rise With Expectation” ☀️ The story behind the Dulainn Apparel logo 🗺️ The meaning behind designs like Pathfinder, Dawn Breaker and Summit Reflection 👕 Why some people want back designs and others prefer something more minimal 🤝 Building a community around the brand 💭 Why you can't please everybody in business 📈 Ryan's plans for new colours, designs and hoodies I’m actually wearing one of Ryan’s T-shirts during the podcast, and we get into why the feel of the organic cotton really stood out to me. For me, this conversation comes back to something simple: If we're thinking about what we eat, why wouldn't we also think about what we're wearing? Ryan is building something with meaning behind it, and I loved hearing the story behind the brand. You can find out more about Dulainn Apparel at www.dulainnapparel.com and on Instagram at @dulainnapparel Stay tuned. Stay classy. Keep it organic. Get on that good stuff.
