Transforming the Church with Dr. Derwin L Gray - It's Time To Heal with Ann Voskamp

In this heartfelt episode of the Transforming the Church podcast, Pastor Derwin Gray sits down with bestselling author Ann Voskamp to discuss deep, gospel-centered healing. Drawing from Derwin’s new book, “It’s Time to Heal,” the conversation explores how God meets us in our deepest wounds and invites us into true restoration—not just coping or striving. Using Jesus’ question at the Pool of Bethesda (John 5:6) and His invitation to the weary (Matthew 11:28), Pastor Derwin unpacks a practical, biblical framework for healing. Together, he and Ann discuss the HEAL acronym—Honesty, Expecting hard work, Accepting without approving, and Living from God’s love. They share personal stories of pain, trauma, and transformation, emphasizing that healing is a slow, holistic process involving mind, body, and spirit. Listeners are encouraged to move beyond shame and self-protection by embracing their identity in Christ, renewing their minds with truth (Romans 12:2), and supporting each other in community. With wisdom from mental health professionals and practical steps like “Christ Behavioral Therapy,” this episode invites everyone—whether at rock bottom or longing for deeper healing—to discover hope, rest, and God’s faithful love. The Reconnect with Carmen LaBerge - When our brokenness is met by Jesus' kindness - Rick Lawrence | False cultural myths v. the True Story that never fails us - Michael Keller

Vibrant Faith's Rick Lawrence, author of several books including "Editing Jesus," helps us look at the account in Luke's Gospel of the "immoral woman" who washes and perfumes Jesus feet at a religious leader's dinner party. While the world around her has cast her out, Jesus shows life-transforming kindness and grace. Pastor Michael Keller, co-author with his dad, the late Tim Keller, of "The Stories We Live By," addresses some of the common culture myths ("be true to yourself," "live free, but do no harm," etc). These myths have and will fail us, but there is a story that never will. The Reconnect with Carmen and all Faith Radio are made possible by your support. Give now: Click here!

How to Study the Bible - Bible Study Made Simple - How Knowing Your Season Will Help Your Decision Making

We're in week two of our Wayfinding series on discerning God's will, and this week we're talking about something I've been thinking about a lot lately, partly because I spent three days hiking alone in the Santa Cruz Mountains before stepping into this new season of ministry. We're talking about terrain, and what the mountains and valleys of your life are actually trying to teach you. Here's the first thing I want us to hold onto: we should expect both. Psalm 126 gives us this soaring, almost disbelieving joy: "When the Lord restored our fortunes, we were like those who dreamed." And Psalm 13 gives us the raw lament, "How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?" Those two psalms sit just pages apart, and that's not an accident. That's the reality of life. Mountains and valleys, abundance and loss, seasons that surprise us with joy and seasons that bring us to our knees. Download the free four-week Decisions study guide at https://www.NicoleUnice.com/decisions The question for those of us in a season of discernment is: what is the terrain trying to clarify? And here's what I've found to be true: when we're wandering, when a decision hasn't come, when the direction still isn't clear, it often means God is still purifying our destination. He's showing us all the other things we're quietly serving alongside Him. Because here's the thing about discernment that I really need us to understand. Discernment isn't about choosing between right and wrong. That's just obedience. Discernment is about choosing between good things, and knowing which good thing points you most directly toward your highest calling, which is serving God wholeheartedly. When serving God becomes the actual destination, everything else, your career, your relationships, your money, your time, becomes a means to that end. Not the end itself. And the moment any of those things becomes an end in itself, it becomes an idol. I know that's rigorous. I know it's uncomfortable. It's uncomfortable for me too. But this is where the terrain does its work, because it's only possible to hear from God clearly when we're willing to live in the reality of our actual condition. Jesus opens the Sermon on the Mount with Blessed are the poor in spirit, blessed are those who mourn, blessed are the meek. He's not describing a special category of people. He's describing all of us, and saying that the ones who experience my blessing are the ones willing to live in the truth of that. So this week, the invitation is simple but not easy: listen. Listen to God through His Word, through wise counsel, through what He's already done in your life. And stay in the uncomfortable zone of waiting, knowing that God is good and His hands are full of abundance. Reflection Questions What season are you in right now, a mountain, a valley, or somewhere in between? Are there any good things in your life that have quietly become conditions you've placed on following God? What would it look like this week to listen to God more intentionally, through His Word, through counsel, through silence? Want More? Download the free four-week Decisions study guide at https://www.NicoleUnice.com/decisions - includes weekly reflection prompts to keep discernment moving between episodes Scriptures from today: Psalm 126 · Psalm 13 · Matthew 5:3–5 (Sermon on the Mount) · Psalm 66:16–20 · Genesis 32 (Jacob wrestling for the blessing) Want to see photos from Nicole's three-day solo pilgrima

Equip & Empower Podcast with Christine Caine - Episode 413 | No Expiration Date: How to Keep Believing God's Promises When the Wait Feels Impossible

You haven't given up on it officially. But somewhere along the way, you quietly stopped expecting it to happen. Maybe it's been too long. Maybe you've been disappointed too many times. Maybe your biology or your bank account or your circumstances have told you that the window has closed, and it was just easier to make peace with that than to keep hoping. But Christine Caine has a word for you from one of the most staggering stories in all of Scripture: you have put an expiration date on something God never did. In episode seven of our series A Life Unleashed, Christine Caine opens Genesis 21:1–7 and takes us on the 25-year journey between God's promise and its fulfillment — between the moment Abraham heard it and the morning Sarah held it in her arms. ✨ If you've ever asked questions like… ✅ I've been waiting on God for something for years. How do I keep believing when nothing has changed? ✅ How do I know the difference between giving up prematurely and accepting that God's answer is no? ✅ Why does it feel like God came through for others but not for me? ✅ What do I do when I've tried to make something happen in my own strength and it made things worse? ✅ Is it okay to doubt — and what does faith actually look like when you're exhausted and discouraged? ✅ How do I stop placing expiration dates on what God has promised? ✅ Can God still fulfill something He promised even when it seems biologically, financially, or circumstantially impossible? …then this is your episode. What you'll learn: → Why God's promises have no expiration dates — and how the story of Abraham and Sarah in Genesis 12–21 shows that the gap between promise and fulfillment is never wasted time, even when it spans a quarter of a century. → The difference between your due date and God's appointed time — and why trying to make happen in your own strength what only God can do always adds unnecessary chaos rather than accelerating the promise. → How faith at its core is a trust journey, not an understanding journey — and how Sarah moved from the laugh of cynicism to the laugh of joy by coming to believe not that she could do it, but that God who had promised was faithful.
