    Trauma, Tall Tales & the Deep Diver Combo

    Welcome back to Cannabis School! This week’s Sesh begins with Brandon discovering that his mom shared the podcast with someone who recently started working in human resources for a cannabis retailer. Apparently, Cannabis School is becoming an unexpected educational resource—which is exciting and slightly terrifying when you remember how quickly these conversations can leave the classroom.     Novarine Strain Review

    Welcome back to Cannabis School! Today, Brandon and Jesse review Novarine by Find Cannabis, a sativa-dominant flower available in Utah’s medical cannabis market. Novarine crosses Caprichosa Thai with a THCV-rich Thai landrace, giving it old-school genetics and an experience far removed from the sweet dessert strains filling dispensary shelves. The aroma is one of the strangest we’ve encountered. Think funky feet, Indian spices, flowers, earth, and a little sweetness hiding underneath everything else. The vapor starts sharp and floral, while the buds have orange pistils, visible trichomes, and a clean—but fairly dry—appearance. The Find Cannabis batch reviewed in this episode was labeled at approximately 26.76% THC and included several minor cannabinoids. That higher potency is another reminder to read the package in front of you: cannabinoid levels can vary considerably between growers and batches, even when the strain name stays the same. Novarine comes on fast. At first, we experienced a bright headspace, increased alertness, restless energy, and pressure around the temples, jaw, and neck. It stopped just short of feeling anxious and never caused a noticeably racing heart. As the session continued, that physical tension faded and the experience became calmer, slower, and surprisingly relaxing. Is Novarine good for daytime use? It could be—especially for experienced consumers who want energetic effects for chores, movement, exercise, or another physical activity. We were less convinced about using it for complicated mental work because the early restlessness needed somewhere to go. At roughly $44 for an eighth, Novarine was not a bargain, but it was not outrageous for Utah either. The dry flower and uncomfortable opening kept it from becoming an everyday favorite, but its funky profile and dramatic shift from energy to relaxation made it memorable. Would we hunt it down every time? Probably not. Would we be mad if it randomly landed in the stash again? Not at all.     Candy Fumez | Sweet Candy, Bright Vibes & A Surprisingly Chill Hybrid

    Candy strains can be hit or miss. Some lean all-in on flavor but leave the effects feeling flat. Others bring the gas but lose the sweetness. Candy Fumez manages to walk the middle. This week we’re checking out Candy Fumez from Find by Tryke, a hybrid bred from Zkittlez × Sherbanger. It brings together candy-forward terpenes with a little fuel, citrus, and earthy funk to create a strain that feels more playful than overwhelming. (Breakwater Dispensary⁠) For us, this wasn’t a couch-lock strain or one that demanded productivity. It landed somewhere in the sweet spot between the two. Think video games, movies, hanging out with friends, or spending time outside without feeling glued to the couch. One thing we both noticed was how light the experience felt. It was mentally uplifting without becoming racy, while the body stayed relaxed without feeling heavy. Your experience may vary depending on your tolerance and the specific batch you have. Zkittlez × Sherbanger (Breakwater Dispensary⁠) Limonene β-Caryophyllene Linalool These terpenes are commonly associated with bright citrus aromas, peppery spice, floral notes, and relaxing tendencies, although individual effects vary from person to person. (Groove Solventless⁠) Sweet candy Citrus Tropical fruit Berry Light diesel Creamy sherbet finish The aroma promised a lot of sweetness, but once we started smoking, we noticed something neither of us expected. It reminded us more of a smooth, hoppy beer than an overly sugary candy strain. As the session went on, more citrus and sweet notes started coming through. For us, Candy Fumez felt: Uplifting without being overly stimulating Relaxed but still functional Great for gaming Easy to socialize on More head-focused than body-heavy Silly, lighthearted, and conversation-friendly One funny observation was what Brandon started calling a “squirrel strain.” Ideas would come quickly, but every once in a while we’d completely lose our train of thought before jumping into the next topic. If you’ve ever had one of those classic cannabis moments where you stop mid-sentence wondering what you were saying, you’ll probably understand exactly what we mean. It’s the kind of strain you reach for when you still want to enjoy whatever you’re doing. Whether that’s firing up your favorite game, getting outside, or spending the evening laughing with friends, this one stayed surprisingly balanced from start to finish.     Some strains disappear before you’re supposed to record the episode. Root Beer GMO was one of those strains. 😆 Jesse brought home a bag for the show, and somewhere between “I’ll save some for the episode” and “Where did it all go?” there was basically nothing left except the nug we managed to hang onto for recording.
