There was always something about the upstairs room in his grandfather’s house.
As children, he and the other kids were terrified of the staircase leading to it, turning their fear into a game to see who could make it the farthest before running back downstairs. Years later, he watched his young nephews react to the same area without knowing anything about those childhood fears.
