Pride kills praise. In this powerful message from Empowered by Praise, Dr. Michael Youssef warns that pride is not a small weakness—it is a spiritual danger that robs believers of joy, blessing, and fruitfulness.
Drawing from the inerrant Word of God, Dr. Youssef contrasts King David and Michal. David praised the Lord with all his might, laying aside status and self-image to honor God alone. Michal looked on with contempt, and her pride left her spiritually barren.
This episode calls believers to:
Repent of pride and self-centered worship,
Praise God with humility and surrender,
Reject criticism that quenches spiritual joy,
Restore power in prayer and intercession,
Live as faithful witnesses to the Gospel.
True praise is not performance—it is sacrifice. When believers humble themselves before the Lord Jesus Christ, praise becomes the antidote to pride and the pathway to renewed spiritual power.
