Thursday · 25 minLeading The Way Radio Podcast - Clinging To The Promises Of God
God always keeps His promises—but are we willing to trust Him while we wait? In this powerful message from How God Works, Dr. Michael Youssef teaches from 1 Kings 18, where Elijah prayed for rain after years of drought. After confronting King Ahab, Elijah climbed Mount Carmel, bowed before the Lord, and kept praying until the rain came. He didn't give up when the answer wasn't immediate. He trusted God's promise and continued seeking Him. Through Elijah's example, Dr. Youssef reveals four keys to effective prayer: Pray specifically — Bring your needs before God with confidence. Pray obediently — Align your requests with God's Word. Pray persistently — Don't give up when answers seem delayed. Pray expectantly — Trust that God will fulfill His promises. Dr. Youssef reminds believers that prayer is not about demanding our own way. It's about surrendering to God's will, trusting His faithfulness, and obeying His commands. Are you still praying—or have you stopped believing? Discover how Elijah's example can help you build a stronger prayer life and hold firmly to God's promises. Scripture Focus: 1 Kings 18 If today’s teaching stirred a question, burden, or need for prayer, you don’t have to walk through it alone. Thursday · 24 minFaith & Finance - Faith-Based Investing: Separating Fact from Fiction with Mark Regier
You may know how your retirement investments are performing, but do you know what they're actually supporting? For many Christians, stewardship shapes how we earn, spend, save, and give. Yet when it comes to investing, we may not think much about the companies and industries represented in our portfolios. Faith-based investing offers an opportunity to align those decisions more closely with our Christian convictions. But what does that look like in practice? Does investing according to your values mean sacrificing financial returns? And can individual investors really make a difference? Mark Regier, Vice President of Stewardship Investing at Praxis Investment Management, joined the show today to explore these questions. With more than 25 years of experience in faith-based investing, Regier offers a thoughtful perspective on how Christians can approach their portfolios with greater intentionality. Recognizing God's Ownership of Our Investments Faithful investing begins with a foundational biblical truth: Everything belongs to God. Psalm 24:1 declares, "The earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein." This principle reminds us that we're not ultimately owners of our resources but stewards entrusted with managing what belongs to God. "When we think about it that way, our investments are just the same as every part of our life, where we ask the Lord to have ownership and control over what we do," Regier explains. One important consideration is that investing in a company often means becoming a partial owner of that business. Whether through individual stocks or investment funds, our financial resources are connected to businesses whose decisions affect employees, customers, communities, and the wider world. That ownership also brings an opportunity to stay informed and engaged. Just as Christians seek to honor God through their spending and generosity, they can also consider how their investments reflect their values. Faith-Based Investing Is About More Than Avoidance When people hear the term faith-based investing, they often think of avoiding companies or industries whose practices conflict with their Christian convictions. This approach, commonly called screening, is an important starting point. Investors may choose to exclude certain businesses based on their products, services, or practices. But Regier emphasizes that faith-based investing can go much further. At Praxis Investment Management, the goal isn't simply to avoid certain investments but also to identify opportunities to contribute positively to the world. These opportunities can include: Shareholder engagement: Using the responsibilities and opportunities of ownership to encourage companies toward more responsible business practices. Community investing: Directing capital toward initiatives that support underserved communities and expand economic opportunities. Impact bonds: Investing in bonds that help finance projects with positive social or environmental outcomes. Praxis incorporates these and other strategies into its ImpactX approach, which identifies seven ways investors can pursue positive impact through their portfolios. The broader principle is that stewardship involves more than asking what we should avoid. It also invites us to consider

Thursday · 30 minInsight for Living Daily Broadcast - Look Who Jesus Hung Out With!, Part 2
Mark 2:13–17 Religion draws lines around who’s in and who’s out, but Jesus consistently crossed those lines. He called a despised tax collector named Levi to follow Him, crossing every line religion had drawn. The religious leaders were scandalized. Pastor Chuck Swindoll unpacks Mark 2:13–17, showing that Jesus intentionally pursued the very people the religious establishment rejected. He declared, “I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.” Set God free from the box of legalism. Welcome the Jesus who embraces the broken, the outcast, and the undeserving, and step into a grace-filled life of freedom and joy!

Thursday · length unknownMax Lucado Daily Devotional - Simply Trust and Obey
Listen to Today's Devotion Jesus told the blind man, “Go and wash in the pool of Siloam,” which is translated, “sent.” Access to the pool of Siloam involved the descent of three sets of stone hewn steps, five steps each, no casual stroll for anyone, much less a blind man. But he did it, and he leaned over the edge of the pool and began to wash his eyes. And from one moment to the next, he could see. The question is often asked, what does a person need to know to become a follower of Christ? This story provides an answer. The man knew nothing of the virgin birth or the beatitudes. He received sight, not because he deserved it, earned it or found it. He received sight because he trusted and obeyed the one who was sent to open eyes that are blind. Remember friends, you are never alone. Read more You Are Never Alone: Trust in the Miracle of God's Presence & Power For more inspirational messages please visit Max Lucado.
