#266 | [WT Remix] - How To Crush Automatic Negative Thoughts (ANTS) Ft. NFL Mental Performance Coach Dr. Cindra Kamphoff

Send us Fan Mail “Confidence isn’t something you’re born with—it’s a skill you can train.” Do elite athletes ever doubt themselves? Absolutely—and what sets them apart isn’t the absence of negative thoughts, but how they respond. Dr. Cindra Kamphoff, founder of the Mentally Strong Institute and trusted coach for the Minnesota Vikings and USA Track and Field, shares powerful frameworks for building confidence, silencing the inner critic, and redefining what it means to win. This conversation blends science, personal stories—including her experience at the Boston Marathon bombing—and practical tools you can use to perform at your best. Key Takeaways: True mental toughness comes from responding differently to negative thoughts, not avoiding them. Confidence is a skill that can be trained through frameworks like “Learn, Burn, and Return.” Redefining “winning” and practicing authenticity unlocks peak performance in sports, business, and life. #264 | Why Gratitude Is A Competitive Advantage: How A 19 Year Old Is Changing The Game Ft. Jack Wagoner

Send us Fan Mail One idea from this conversation really stuck with me: fulfillment isn't about constantly raising the bar—it's about raising your awareness of what's already worth appreciating while continuing to pursue meaningful goals. My biggest takeaways: 1) purpose comes from taking action before you have certainty, 2) balance ambition with gratitude so success doesn't come at the expense of fulfillment, and 3) focus on owning your inputs instead of obsessing over outcomes. #260 | Be A Good Friend To Yourself

Send us Fan Mail You can spot the right move for your best friend in seconds, but when it’s your own life, the same problem suddenly turns into a spiral. That disconnect is exactly what we’re tackling here, with one core idea that’s simple to say and surprisingly hard to live: be a good friend to yourself. I share why this has become the biggest piece of advice I’ve leaned on lately, especially after walking through a rough first half of the year and the emotional aftershocks of a long-term relationship ending. When you’re hurt, it’s easy to slip into anxious cycles, replay every detail, and take on responsibility that was never yours to carry. We talk about the moment therapy called that out clearly and the shift that followed: stop expecting yourself to do the work of two people, then punishing yourself when you burn out. From there, we make it practical. I lay out the “zoom out” questions that help me reset in real time: Would I tell my friend this? If my friend said this thought out loud, what would I say back? Those prompts can interrupt negative self talk, reduce social media comparison, and create a more grounded, resilient state of mind. We also dig into the boundary behind it all: don’t set yourself on fire to keep others warm. If you want a cleaner mindset, stronger self-worth, and a healthier way to move through hard seasons, press play. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs it, and leave a rating and review so we can help more people win. Thank you for tuning in! Send us Fan Mail Tina Seelig, executive director of the Knight-Hennessy Scholars at Stanford, breaks down the difference between fortune and luck—and how to create more of it.
