A New Dwarf Planet and a Glimpse of the Zeptoverse
The Vera Rubin Observatory's massive and rapid surveys of the sky have discovered a new dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt, previously hidden by the bright background of the Milky Way. Many more discoveries of this type are sure to follow, while on a much different scale, an extremely rare quark decay has been observed at the Large Hadron Collider that involves length scales that are unimaginably small. Try to imagine them. We dare you. Can't be done. Join us for all this and other things to fire up the imagination.
