We've taken our drunken ramblings from the pub to the studio to teach each other about all kinds of films, TV shows, video games and more. From '80s cartoons to '90s kids shows, action film franchises to cult games, we'll chat about anything remotely geek-related, often with plenty of confusion, bickering and fond nostalgia.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Tom takes Morgan through the ENTIRE history of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise – the comics, the TV series, the movies, the merch and more. (In hindsight, maybe we should have just done the 1987 series!). We discuss which Turtle is best, why Elias Koteas is so cool, whether Tom’s Winter Olympics Turtle was real or not, and just how weird the latest Splinter looks. So grab a slice of pizza and settle down, it’s going to be an epic ride… Developments since broadcast: As referenced in the podcast, Nickelodeon released their new 2D animated series based on the franchise, first appearing in September 2018. A crossover film, called Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, was recently released in 2019.

Bruce Lee
“Be water, my friend” Time for a history lesson on another movie icon, and this time it’s martial arts legend Bruce Lee, who died 45 years ago this July. Morgan takes noob Tom for a travel back through Bruce’s life, movie career, and even death… We tackle everything from mistitled US versions of his films, the dodgy Bruceploitation movies, and bizarre video games based around his image. Developments since broadcast: In 2019, Cinemax debuted the TV series Warrior, which is based on an original concept and treatment by Bruce Lee. 2019 also saw the release of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which featured a brilliant portrayal of Bruce Lee by Mike Moh.

Back to the Future
Great Scott and all that. In this episode, Tom explains to Morgan just why BTTF is his favourite movie series of all time. Ranking the Scrooges
Merry Christmas! For this year’s festive special, we’re looking back at some of the most memorable adaptations of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Tom and Morgan pick three Scrooges each, to decide which one is the very best (not including Scrooge McDuck or efforts by Henry Winkler or Kelsey Grammer, sorry boys). The episode also features an exclusive interview with Muppet Christmas Carol star Meredith Braun, where Tom chatted with her about the film’s fan favourite song ‘When Love is Gone’ and how great Michael Caine was as Scrooge. Developments since broadcast: Christopher Plummer starred as Scrooge in a semi-biographical film about Charles Dickens, The Man Who Invented Christmas, in 2017. Guy Pearce played Scrooed in a gritty new version of A Christmas Carol by the BBC and FX in 2019. Disney announced plans to re-release The Muppet Christmas Carol in HD, including the discovery of the original tapes of ‘When Love is Gone’! We like to pretend we had something to do with it.

Flash Gordon
OK, we may have had an issue with our latest episode (ie, Tom forgot to record it properly), so that lost episode will be re-recorded in a few months time… BUT, instead, here’s a brand new episode entirely, all about the history of one of America’s most beloved comic book characters, and its 1980 movie, Flash Gordon! Tom and Morgan chat about the underrated hero that is Buster Crabbe, the best bits of Queen’s Flash soundtrack and why Ming the Merciless’ name is so perfect. Beer choice: Smog Rocket (Flash has a rocket, innit) Developments since broadcast: In 2019, an animated Flash Gordon film from Taika Waititi was cancelled. A film about the making of the film and what happened to the cast next – Life After Flash – was released in 2018. In 2020, the film became the subject of controversy over claims of racism, with the film now carrying a warning about ‘potentially offensive’ material, by the BBFC.

Batman – The Animated Series
To mark the 25th anniversary of DC cartoon Batman: The Animated Series, Morgan explains to Tom just why it is one of the greatest cartoon series ever made. We delve into its influences and history, how it ended up influencing the DC universe forever, and why it was so badass, even today. It also features exclusive interviews with Batman actor Kevin Conroy and Robin himself, Burt Ward. Beer choice: Guinness XX (dark, innit?) Developments since broadcast: In January 2021, Kevin Smith revealed that Warner Bros was looking into a reboot of the series on HBO Max. Red Dwarf
Smegging hell, it’s Red Dwarf! In this episode, Tom delves through the history of his favourite TV show ever: Red Dwarf. Tom and Morgan discuss all 11 series (aired at the time), the dodgy American remake, how it came to be, almost-castings, favourite scenes and more. It also includes exclusive interview clips with the cast and co-creator Doug Naylor! The Incredible Hulk (1978)
The episode delves into the history of the TV show and its movie follow-ups, its catchy music and how it influenced subsequent films. We also rank the live action Bruce Banners, boogie on down the disco version of the ‘Lonely Man Theme’ and get baffled by the awful theme to the 1966 cartoon series. There’s also a clip of when Morgan chatted Hulk with Doctor Who and Jessica Jones star David Tennant about his love of Bill Bixby. Beer choice: Gamma Ray (for obvious reasons). Dark Crystal and Labyrinth
Tom takes Morgan back to the 1980s – when fantasy movies were everywhere and full of animatronics and puppets instead of CGI and green screens. This episode delves into the brilliant mind of the late, great Jim Henson, and two of his non-Muppet movies: The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. Movies that were not huge successes at the time, but have grown to become cult favourites. We discuss everything from David Bowie’s bulge, scary bird things and whether pretending you were the baby in Labyrinth wins you any friends at uni. Beer choice: Little Creatures Developments since broadcast: The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance was released on Netflix to great acclaim in 2019. It was a prequel to the original film, and it was one of Tom’s favourite TV shows of the 2010s. We even went to the show’s launch in London! As of 2021, the Labyrinth sequel is still in the works. Doctor Strange’s Scott Derrickson will direct, with Maggie Levin co-writing with him, and The Jim Henson Company’s Brian Henson as executive producer. The Mandela Effect
For this podcast episode, Morgan takes Tom through the bizarre phenomenon of The Mandela Effect, where many people have shared memories of something that never happened. We cover various mindmelts from C3PO’s leg to ‘Stop the Pigeon’ to ‘Kazaam’ to ‘The Berenstain Bears’, all of which confused the hell out of us. Duke Nukem
Hail to the king, baby! Our latest episode chronicles the history of steroid-loving Duke Nukem, and the ups and downs of his video game life – from 1991’s MS DOS platformer Duke Nukem to the looooonnngg-awaited disappointment that was Duke Nukem Forever in 2011. Includes a tribute to Bill Paxton, featuring a clip of him from video game film The Gamechangers. Check out our other video game episodes, including Point and Click Adventure Games and the Sega Megadrive. Beer choice: Old Thumper – because Duke’s old, and he thumps things. Developments since broadcast: In March 2018, it was announced that John Cena will star in a Duke Nukem movie. However, in January 2019, Duke Nukem voice actor Jon St John stated that no movie was in development.

No way. No way! Something a little bit different this time as Tom and Morgan look back at the career of an underrated geek hero of cinema: Mr Keanu Reeves. We delve into the man himself, his history, his music, his not-so well received performances and in particular, these six iconic movies in Keanu’s filmography: Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure / Bogus Journey Point Break Speed The Matrix Constantine John Wick Note: Tom wanted to discuss The Lake House (aka one of his top five favourite movies, honestly) at length, but Morgan wouldn’t let him. Beer choice: Hogstar (Hogs Back Brewery) Developments since broadcast: Keanu has continued to make great movies as ever – including a third John Wick film, Toy Story 4 as Duke Caboom, and Bill and Ted 3! We recorded a Bill and Ted special to celebrate Face the Music’s release in 2020, which featured an interview with co-writer Ed Solomon. Keanu will star in a long-awaited fourth Matrix film, expected to be released in 2022. Keanu also starred in the even more long-awaited video game Cyberpunk 2077 as Johnny Silverhand. Tom still hasn’t got it working yet.

There was only one episode we could for instalment number 24, and it’s our second espionage ep in a row: JACK BAUER’S 24. And as it’s been so long since our last episode (our bad), it’s a bumper edition as we trawl through all 9 seasons (plus a mini movie and the game) of Jack’s mental adventures, nukes, moles and haughty English politicians. NOTE: This episode was recorded before Donald Trump’s election victory. Beer choice: Jack of Clubs Developments since broadcast: A spin-off, 24 Legacy, was released in early 2017. As Tom predicted in the episode, it kinda sucked and was quickly cancelled after one season.

James Bond (A Geek’s Guide)
Morgan teaches Tom about just how the James Bond franchise is much geekier than you think, from lost movies, crap remakes and 007’s magic number. We go through all the Bond actors, Bond films, Bond girls, Bond villains, and yeah, just all things Bond really. Beer choice: Vodka Martini (a crap attempt) Developments since broadcast: We’ve since recorded episodes on the greatest James Bond video games, and also looked back on Timothy Dalton’s underrated Licence to Kill. Daniel Craig’s final outing has been announced, but as of early 2021, A Time To Die has been delayed more than three times due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Daniel Craig is now set to be the longest-serving James Bond in terms of years he has owned the role.

Sega Mega Drive/Genesis Games
Morgan takes Tom back to the early 1990s and through some of his favourite Sega Mega Drive games, including Streets of Rage 2, Golden Axe and Sonic the Hedgehog. Tom also educates Morgan about the horrific Shaq Fu and how it may have influenced 50 Cent.
