    House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 6 Spoiler Review | Orders to Kill

    Ser Criston Cole finally meets the end he always swore would come with glory — except there's no glory in it at all. And as Rhaenyra's grip on the Iron Throne starts to slip, the people closest to her start slipping away too. 🐉 House of the Dragon S3E6: "Faceless Men" The episode wastes no time cutting Criston Cole down — literally. His march through the Riverlands ends in an ambush, and after cutting through the trap laid for him, he's shot dead from a distance by Black Aly before he can even swing his sword, denying him the "songs" he always promised himself. Back in King's Landing, Alicent and Helaena's tunnel escape turns out to have gone nowhere, and their recapture sets off a chain reaction through the rest of the hour. Rhaenyra's Small Council votes against burning Tumbleton to the ground, so she sends assassins after Ormund Hightower instead and tasks Daemon with rooting out whoever's been slaughtering her Gold Cloaks — a hunt that ends with Daemon publicly beating Ulf in the street, a decision that will not age well with the smallfolk. Down south, Hugh sneaks into Tumbleton to find his wife, only for the reunion to curdle the moment his dragon comes up, and at Harrenhal, Aemond and Alys Rivers grow closer as she reveals a hidden clutch of ancient dragon eggs. In Tumbleton, disguised Baratheon "envoys" turn out to be assassins gunning for Ormund and Daeron, foiled at the last second by Gwayne Hightower. And King's Landing saves its cruelest twist for last: after the Iron Throne draws blood from Rhaenyra's hand — a bad omen if there ever was one — she gives Alicent an ultimatum that closes the episode on its most jaw-dropping note.

Criston Cole marches his starving men into a trap of his own making, delivering a death-seeking speech before Gwayne deserts him. Aemond wakes at Harrenhal, fully alive and unraveling, as Alys Rivers tightens her grip on his fractured mind. Alicent tries to force an abortion potion on a defiant Helaena, who refuses to give up her child. Alicent and Helaena's escape attempt through a hidden passage dead-ends in total darkness. Aegon murders Janos in cold blood just as a presumed-dead Tyland Lannister reappears out of nowhere.
