Fixed vs Growth Mindset | Why "Yet" Is the Most Powerful Word You Own

This one started with a walk and a question I asked my husband: what do you think your greatest quality is? His answer was his ability to work things out, and it sent me down a rabbit hole on fixed versus growth mindset and how much of what we call talent is really just exposure and repetition. I break down Carol Dweck's research and the 1998 praise experiment with fifth graders, where one group was praised for being smart and the other for working hard, and what happened to both groups when the puzzles got harder. It says a lot about why so many high achievers avoid anything they might be bad at, and why praising kids only for how they look sets them up to be fragile later. I also share my own fixed narrative around public speaking, where it came from at sixteen, and the presentation in 2023 where I forgot everything on stage and lived the exact fear I had been avoiding. Plus the story I recently caught myself in about having to post at 6am or there was no point, and how much freer things got when I dropped it. Then we get practical. Naming it, taming it, reframing it. Gamifying the things you resist, whether that is food Tetris or setting a minimum standard in the gym so anything above it is a bonus. Making learning the goal instead of the outcome. And the word yet, which turns a dead end sentence back into a practice. Your brain is plastic. It is trainable in exactly the same way a muscle is. If that is the only thing you take from this episode, that is enough.

You Might Be 20 No's Away From Your Yes | Bianca Black on Rejection, Confidence and Backing Yourself

Bianca Black is an actress, model, co host of the Live and Let Be podcast, Animal Welfare League Queensland ambassador, and second runner up at Miss Universe Australia 2025. In this episode she pulls back the curtain on what the highlight reel does not show. We get into what rejection actually looks like in the acting world, fifty self tapes for one yes, no feedback, no closure, and the detachment she had to learn to keep going. Bianca shares how she builds confidence from the ground up by backing her own decisions and following through on the small things, why she says yes to every job including the low paid ones, and the mindset that carried her from a chaotic teenage pageant in Guatemala to closing the circle on a dream she had since meeting Jennifer Hawkins at eight years old. We also talk about her nerves and where she holds them, learning lines, working on set with Russell Crowe and Chris Hemsworth, the weekly work she does getting shelter dogs adopted, what the last two years of rebuilding after a breakup taught her about control and reactivity, the daily mantra she says out loud, and why the healthiest thing you can do in dating is stop deciding whether someone is your husband before you have finished the first drink. If you are in the messy middle of something and wondering whether it is worth continuing, this one is for you.

From 12k Followers to 800k: Olivia May on Fuelling, Failing and Doing It Her Way

Olivia May is a professional beach and track sprinter from the Gold Coast with a community of over 2.3 million people across TikTok and Instagram. In this episode she opens up about the mindset behind the training: why she has run the same program for four to five years, why her hardest winter session is three reps and a walk to the car, and why rest is the part of performance almost everyone skips. We get into the illusion of pressure and the moment a friend told her nobody actually cares how she performs, the plateau she went through and why sharing it grew her audience more than winning ever did, unlearning the belief that smaller is faster, and what she wishes young girls heard about fuelling instead of restricting. She also shares the daily non negotiables that changed her relationship with herself: morning sunlight, stretching, and gratitude journaling every single day since January. If you have ever felt guilty for resting, compared your chapter one to someone else’s chapter twenty, or wondered what separates an athlete from someone who just trains hard, this one is for you.

Hattie recently got home from holidays feeling fragile like she was letting herself down and letting everyone around her down too. She also answers the community's biggest body-image questions, sharing why she traded chasing "skinny" for chasing strong, and how she strategically taught her body to handle 3,000 calories a day. If you've been feeling stuck, this is your reset button.

There's A Version Of You That's Dying To Meet You Are You Practicing Being Her?

In this solo episode, Hattie continues her self-mastery series with a powerful conversation on identity and the gap between who you're showing up as right now and the woman you keep imagining you could be. She walks you through a practice for getting brutally honest about where you are, what you're negotiating with, and what it actually takes to step into the next version of you. She also unpacks the uncomfortable truth that self-development sometimes means outgrowing people, the difference between flexibility as a tool and flexibility as an excuse, and why so many high achievers have become "slaves to worthiness" without realising it. Grounded, practical, and the kind of episode that earns a second listen.

Radical Self-Acceptance: The Pillar Of Self-Mastery No One Talks About

In this solo episode, Hattie sits down to unpack what she calls the hardest, and most important, pillar of self-mastery: radical self-acceptance. After ten years of teaching this framework and watching it transform the women inside Flex Method's 8-week reset, Hattie breaks down why every other pillar (responsibility, ownership, leadership, resourcefulness) collapses without this one in place first. She gets personal about the years she spent wanting to be anyone but herself, the difference between acceptance and a fixed mindset, and how the moment you stop fighting who you are is the moment everything starts to change.

Shifting Gears: What 'Being Your Best Self' Actually Means

We've all said it, "I want to be the best version of myself." But what does that actually look like in practice? In this episode, Harry breaks down one of the most common traps women fall into: holding themselves to a single, perfect standard and crashing out completely when life doesn't cooperate. Using her Shifting Gears framework, from Gear 1 (sick, survival mode, new mum) all the way to Gear 4 (peak season, full throttle) Hattie unpacks how the most consistent women in health and fitness aren't the ones who go hardest. They're the ones who know how to adapt without abandoning their standards. You'll walk away knowing: Why "best version of yourself" is just an umbrella term until you define it How to identify your non-negotiables at every gear The difference between a standard and an expectation (and why it matters) Why flexibility is a tool, not the goal How to stop the all-or-nothing cycle for good If you've ever felt like you're either nailing it or completely off the rails — this one's for you.
