JP Morgan Employee Speaks: Layoffs 2026

JPMorgan layoffs 2026: JPMorgan Chase is eliminating jobs through WARN notices in Jersey City, New Jersey; Plano, Texas; and San Francisco while headcount grows and the bank keeps hiring. It is hiring for AI, cloud, data and cybersecurity while compressing older banking, operations and technology work. Is your job part of the future JPMorgan is building? Recent JPMorgan WARN notices show 244 jobs eliminated in Plano, 53 San Francisco jobs affecting loan services, analysts and software and infrastructure engineers, and five Jersey City notices listing 541 positions in 2026. Yet headcount rose from 318,512 at the end of 2025 to 320,560 in June. Jamie Dimon says JPMorgan added more than 60,000 employees in five years. JPMorgan’s future workforce is being hired while parts of its old workforce are still inside the building. JPMorgan has about 1,000 AI use cases across risk, marketing, hedging, note-taking and idea generation. Dimon said AI reduced jobs by 30% to 40% in certain areas. That does not apply across the bank, and most affected employees reportedly found other JPMorgan roles. Selected workflows already need fewer people. JPMorgan is using AI in investment banking to find information, prepare content and help bankers serve more clients. Dimon expects more AI specialists and fewer traditional bankers in some categories. Hiring continues in AI, data, cloud, cybersecurity and platform engineering, along with advisers, private bankers and people who own client relationships. Pressure is closest to repeatable work: call centres, routine servicing, fraud reviews, document processing, summaries, meeting notes, first drafts, routine coding and management jobs built around routing work. Fewer employees may be needed, and everyone left may be expected to produce more. Stronger positions combine AI with banking knowledge, risk ownership, critical systems, unusual problems, or clients and revenue. A prompt course alone is not protection. The employee confession is a dramatized composite of a San Francisco engineer cut while JPMorgan keeps hundreds of local openings. It is based on public records and employee accounts, not one verified quotation. This investigation connects JPMorgan Chase layoffs with banking layoffs 2026 across Citigroup and Citi, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Capital One, UBS, HSBC, Standard Chartered, TD Bank, RBC, BMO and CIBC. Shared signals include AI automation, restructuring, attrition, severance, role consolidation and changing hiring across Wall Street, Canadian banks and global banking. Canadian Bank Layoffs 2026: AI Warning for CIBC, TD, BMO & RBC Workers

Canadian bank layoffs 2026 matter to employees at CIBC, TD Bank, Bank of Montreal (BMO) and Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). This episode examines the AI automation and cost reductions behind CIBC layoffs 2026, TD Bank layoffs 2026, BMO layoffs 2026 and RBC layoffs 2026, including the jobs under pressure. The real question is not whether AI eliminates every bank job tomorrow. It is whether your work remains part of the bank's future. TD reduced mortgage pre-adjudication from about 15 hours to under three minutes. Its system checks documents, calculates income and prepares an underwriting summary. TD also automated roughly one-third of the manual funding process inside Auto Finance Canada. More than 20,000 client-facing employees use AI knowledge support. CIBC says AdvisorAssist can reduce adviser administration by up to 50%. DocuMind handles about 63,000 documents monthly and saves roughly 16,000 working hours every quarter. More than 4,000 CIBC developers reportedly receive 20% productivity benefits from AI. BMO says Lumi searches more than 8,000 policy documents and helped reduce internal policy help-desk calls by 60%. Another system identifies eligible transactions and issues credits without manual review. RBC is targeting $700 million to $1 billion in annualized AI benefits by fiscal 2027. Priorities include credit, mortgages, digital identity and employee technical support. More than 6,000 developers use a platform with automated building, testing, deployment and AI-generated code. Banking jobs facing AI pressure include mortgage processing, loan administration, underwriting preparation, KYC collection, AML alert triage, account opening, call-centre service, transaction processing, adviser administration, policy support, IT help desks, junior development, manual testing, reporting and documentation. Canadian banks will keep hiring, but not necessarily the same number of people to perform work their systems complete faster and cheaper. Saved hours can become higher targets, fewer contractors, smaller hiring classes and empty vacancies. Citi, Wells Fargo and Bank of America show how restructuring, attrition and no backfill can shrink a workforce without one massive layoff announcement. The Grind Hotline is a two-time 2026 award-winning worker-first global workplace intelligence platform and business podcast. The show covers banking and technology layoffs, AI job cuts, corporate restructuring, hiring freezes, no backfill, workplace pressure, toxic leadership, career risk and the future of work. Oracle Is Spending Another $700 Million on More Job Cuts

Oracle layoffs 2026 update: Oracle has added another $700 million to its restructuring plan, increasing expected restructuring costs to roughly $2.8 billion. The programme includes employee severance, contract terminations and other exit costs as Oracle expands aggressively into AI while continuing to reshape parts of its workforce. This episode of The Grind Hotline explains the latest Oracle restructuring news, what the new $700 million increase means for employees, why additional job cuts may still be ahead and why Oracle’s AI boom does not automatically mean greater job security. Oracle is growing fast. Revenue increased about 30%. AI cloud demand is surging. Oracle is committing enormous amounts of capital to data centres, servers, chips and the infrastructure required to support its AI expansion. At the same time, Oracle’s restructuring programme is getting larger. Oracle says the programme is partly connected to the adoption of artificial intelligence across certain functions. Employee severance remains one of the major restructuring costs. The latest disclosure follows months of workforce pressure at Oracle, including reported Oracle India job cuts and a major decline in global employee headcount over the previous fiscal year. That creates a clear worker signal: AI growth can increase revenue while simultaneously increasing automation, cost pressure, restructuring and workforce changes. A company does not have to be losing money to reduce jobs. Oracle employees should be watching which roles are being replaced, which positions are no longer being backfilled, where teams are being consolidated, which functions are being automated and where investment is moving. The Grind Hotline will continue tracking Oracle restructuring costs, Oracle layoffs, headcount changes, severance expenses, AI workforce pressure and other public signals that could affect employees. The Grind Hotline created the Layoff Tracker + Corporate Stress Index to track workforce pressure across 50 major technology and banking employers. It monitors public signals including layoffs, restructuring, severance, hiring changes, AI workforce pressure, cost cutting and other developments that can indicate weakening job security. https://www.grindhotline.com/layofftracker The free Weekly Layoff Intelligence Report identifies the most important corporate workforce signals each week and explains what they could mean for employees. Instead of waiting for a layoff announcement, readers can follow restructuring activity, workforce reductions, AI pressure and other developments while they are still building. https://www.grindhotline.com/layoffintelligence The free Job Threat Check takes approximately two minutes and helps workers assess warning signs around their employer, department, manager and role. It is designed to help employees identify personal job-risk signals before a restructuring or layoff becomes obvious. https://www.grindhotline.com/jobthreat The Grind Hotline is a worker-first global workplace intelligence platform covering layoffs, restructuring, artificial intelligence, corporate pressure and job security. Its reporting reaches audiences in 100+ countries and includes hundreds of source-linked workplace intelligence articles and podcast episodes examining major employers across technology, banking and corporate America. The Grind Hotline is a two-time 2026 award-winning platform, recognized by the MUSE Creative Awards and dotCOMM Awards for its workplace content and strategy. The Host brings experience from banking, financial services, technology, global sales and Fortune 100/500 environments. He also experienced the other side of corporate life personally. He lost his job twice in five years, including being fired on his daughter’s birthday after years with the same employer. That experience became the foundation for The Grind Hotline and its worker-warning tools.

Dell Layoffs Aren’t Over — Cuts Continue (2026 Update)

Dell layoffs 2026 update: Dell Technologies’ latest SEC filing shows the workforce-reduction story is not over. Dell booked $261 million in Q2 severance tied to “workforce reduction activities,” first-half severance charges are 46% higher than the same period last year, R&D severance surged to $149 million, and Dell ended the quarter with $339 million in termination-benefit obligations still on its books. At the same time, Dell is posting record growth. Quarterly revenue reached nearly $47 billion, Dell’s AI-server backlog climbed to $95 billion, and overall R&D spending increased. That is the contradiction at the centre of this episode: AI demand is booming, Dell is investing more in R&D, yet major severance charges are still hitting R&D. If you are searching for the latest Dell layoffs, Dell job cuts, Dell workforce reductions, Dell severance, Dell restructuring, Dell R&D cuts, Dell engineering layoffs, Michael Dell workforce strategy, Dell headcount reductions, Dell hiring restrictions, Dell AI jobs or Dell layoffs 2026, this episode breaks down what the new filing actually says and what it does not prove. The $339 million liability does not mean Dell secretly set aside $339 million for layoffs it has not decided yet. It means Dell still carried hundreds of millions in termination-benefit obligations tied to workforce reductions already recognised and not yet fully paid or settled. The danger is the pattern: severance charges remain elevated, the liability remains large, and Dell says cost-management measures continue. Dell specifically points to employee reorganisations, limits on external hiring and other actions to align spending with strategic priorities. Dell’s previous annual filing showed headcount had already fallen to about 97,000 employees, roughly 10% lower in one year. Dell does not publish quarterly headcount, so The Grind Hotline does not invent a new job-cut number. What does this mean for Dell employees? Record revenue does not equal job security. AI growth does not automatically protect every engineering role. A company can be winning financially while reorganising teams, restricting hiring, eliminating backfills and paying workers to leave. This episode also gives Dell workers three immediate power moves: test whether your seat can be absorbed, automated, moved or eliminated; interview while you are still employed and have leverage; and know your RSU dates, bonus terms, severance policy and personal employment records before access disappears. The Grind Hotline tracks the wider tech layoffs 2026 cycle across Amazon layoffs, Microsoft layoffs, Oracle layoffs, PayPal layoffs, LinkedIn layoffs, Google layoffs, Meta layoffs, Uber layoffs and other Big Tech job cuts. We follow SEC filings, earnings calls, WARN notices, severance, headcount changes, AI workforce pressure, restructuring, hiring freezes, no-backfill decisions, outsourcing, offshoring, RTO pressure and performance exits. The Grind Hotline is a worker-first global workplace intelligence platform reaching workers in 100+ countries. The show has generated 125,000+ YouTube views and is a two-time 2026 award-winning platform, including a MUSE Creative Awards Silver win and a dotCOMM Award. The Host is an ex-banker, former global sales leader and corporate-survival strategist who lost his job twice in five years.
