Read the full show notes on Dr. Aimee's website. I'm excited to be joining Dr. Lorne Brown on the Conscious Fertility Podcast to dive into a fascinating topic: Rapamycin. While it's started to be used as an anti-aging drug, I've been exploring its potential for reproductive health, especially in improving fertility and delaying menopause. In this episode, I share my personal experience taking Rapamycin, including how it's affected my skin, menstrual cycles, and overall health. We'll also get into the science behind it and how it may be beneficial for women going through menopause or undergoing fertility treatments like IVF. While I'm passionate about this topic, I want to emphasize that this is not medical advice—always consult your doctor before considering any new treatments. I also share how my alcohol-free lifestyle supports my approach to healthy aging and fertility. Key points covered include: How Rapamycin may help delay menopause, reverse its effects, and support fertility treatments. Some of the potential side effects, like cystic acne and mouth sores. Why I started using and prescribing Rapamycin for longevity and helping women improve fertility later in life. My personal experience with Rapamycin, including smoother skin, regular cycles, and no gray hair at 48. Ten Steps to Adopt a "Float Through Life" Mindset for Fertility Patients

Read the full notes and transcript at Dr. Aimee's website. After 20 years of practicing medicine, I've learned that not everything is sunshine and rainbows. To help myself and my fertility patients, I've adopted a "float through life" mindset—emphasizing mindfulness, calmness, adaptability, and acceptance. Whether you're going through IVF or simply exploring your fertility options, cultivating a positive mindset can help you feel more grounded and supported in the process. In this episode, I share how mindfulness and a flexible mindset can be powerful tools for fertility patients. Instead of being consumed by stress or uncertainty, you'll learn how to approach IVF and your fertility journey with more ease, presence, and hope. This shift toward a positive mindset doesn't mean ignoring challenges—it means embracing tools that allow you to move through them with greater strength and grace. In this episode, we cover: How to embrace situations as they come without spiraling when plans change The power of mindfulness and accepting impermanence in difficult times Ways to stay flexible, cultivate gratitude, and detach from rigid outcomes Why humor, lightheartedness, and community support matter in tough moments Practical steps for prioritizing self-care, limiting overthinking, and trusting the journey Would you like to learn more about IVF? Exploring Donor Conception and Infertility Advocacy with Our Hearts Match Author Victoria Nino

I am talking to the incredible Victoria Nino, author of Our Hearts Match, donor conception advocate, and mom of two about one of the most vulnerable moments in a fertility journey: what happens after IVF fails. Victoria has lived through multiple failed IVF cycles, stage three endometriosis, years of heartbreak, and ultimately became a mother twice over through donor egg conception via two very different paths. Her story is raw, honest, and full of the kind of hard-won wisdom that only comes from truly living it. We dive deep into the emotional rollercoaster of failed IVF cycles, the grief that so often goes unacknowledged, and what it really takes to open the door to donor eggs, not out of defeat, but out of empowerment. Victoria shares how education, community, and even a spiritual trip to Thailand helped her find her footing, and why she believes you don't have to be 100% emotionally ready, you just have to be willing to take a peek. In this episode, we cover: The grief of failed IVF cycles and why it deserves to be treated like any other profound loss The emotional tipping point between exhaustion and openness when considering donor eggs The difference between fresh and frozen donor eggs including cost, timeline, and access What an open donor relationship looks like and why Victoria wishes she'd had it from the start How epigenetics and bonding science can help shift your perspective on the mother-child relationship Overcoming shame, fear of judgment, and the "am I the real mom?" question Why Victoria's one regret is that she didn't do it sooner and what she'd tell anyone in the "what now" moment right now Resources: Victoria Nino on Instagram: @expectinganything Victoria's website: expectinganything.com Victoria's support groups & classes: Infertility Unfiltered | @infertilityunfiltered Donor Nexus (frozen & fresh egg donation with open relationship options): https://www.instagram.com/donor.nexus/ Book: Our Hearts Match by Victoria Nino Book: What Makes a Baby by Cory Silverberg The Egg Whisperer Show on YouTube and Spotify My Book, The Egg Whisperer Way comes out in Spring of 2027. Why Didn't Your IUI Work?

One of the most common questions I get asked is "Why didn't my IUI work?" It's a great question because there are many factors that come into play with intrauterine insemination. If you're my patient, we'd start by checking the Fallopian tubes, uterus, and sperm quality first.⠀ But let's say you've done the #TUSHYcheck, the tubes are clear and everything else looks good. So why doesn't IUI work? The answer I share with my patients is: because you're human. Yes, it's really as simple as that. ⠀ To put IUI into perspective, 90% of the time it doesn't work. ⠀ So if your IUI didn't work, I want you to know that there's nothing wrong with you, and you're normal, and human. It's that simple.⠀ Do you have questions about IVF? Click here to join Dr. Aimee for The IVF Class. A New Blood Test for Endometriosis: What Fertility Patients Need to Know with Dr. Mary Peavey

Could a simple blood test help identify endometriosis before you spend years being told you have "unexplained infertility"? Endometriosis is one of the most underdiagnosed causes of fertility challenges, and many women spend a decade or more looking for answers with their doctors. Sadly, some patients are diagnosed with "unexplained infertility" when endometriosis may actually be part of the picture. This can lead to delays in treatment and pregnancy. As you know, I always say "diagnosis before treatment." The frustrating thing is that doctors often have a blind spot around endometriosis because the traditional way to confirm it has been through laparoscopic surgery, which is an outpatient procedure. Plus, some doctors are dismissive of endo, and don't insist on patients getting tested. The good news is that fertility specialists now have another tool in the toolbox: a non-invasive blood test called HerResolve. In this episode, I'm joined by reproductive endocrinologist Dr. Mary Peavey of Atlantic Fertility in Raleigh, North Carolina, to talk about how this new test works, who may benefit from it, and whether it could help patients get the right diagnosis, the right treatment, and potentially get to pregnancy faster. It's truly an exciting discussion and breakthrough, and I am delighted to share it with you. In this episode, we cover: - What endometriosis is and why it can be an important factor in infertility - How even mild or "silent" endometriosis can affect egg quality, embryo development, implantation, ovarian reserve, and inflammation - Why endometriosis is often underdiagnosed or mistaken for unexplained infertility, and why women can go years without answers - Why laparoscopic surgery has historically been central to endometriosis diagnosis and how that can contribute to diagnostic delays - How HerResolve works and how this non-invasive blood test may help clinicians identify patients who may have endometriosis - How identifying endometriosis may help guide fertility treatment decisions, including treatment after failed embryo transfers - When patients with unexplained infertility or suspected endometriosis may want to ask their fertility doctor about testing and evaluation Resources Read the show notes on Dr. Aimee's website Atlantic Fertility's website HerResolve endometriosis blood test by HerAnova The Egg Whisperer Show - Subscribe on YouTube The Egg Whisperer Show on Spotify Would you like to learn more about IVF?
