Nadal calls time on epic career, Sabalenka + Sinner shine again, Wimbledon's tech overhaul
Get the tissues ready! Joel, Kim and Chris are back together to catch up on all things tennis, leading with the hot story that legend of the game Rafa Nadal will be hanging up his rackets in retirement at the end of this season. Alcaraz snatches Sinner win, WADA seeks Italian ban + Wimbledon plans get greenlight
The Asian swing is in full flow and what a treat we had in Beijing as Carlos Alcaraz battled back from the brink to defeat World Number 1 Jannik Sinner in a final set tiebreak. And that wasn't even the biggest news of the week for the Italian who expressed his 'surprise' at the World Anti-Doping Agency looking for a lengthy ban over his positive drug tests. Elsewhere in Beijing, the WTA has reached the quarter-finals stage as Sabalenka continues to run riot whilst Paula Badosa is also making a charge up the ranking towards the Top 10. But there was despair for Naomi Osaka who retired against Coco Gauff with a back injury. And finally, there was more positive news for Wimbledon as they got the green light for a 39 court expansion with their ambition to create a three week festival of tennis in SW19. As always, Joel and Chris delve into the mailbag to talk Saudi exhibitions and one of our trickiest Mysterious Players yet. Team Europe's Laver Cup comeback, Gauff + Osaka coach shakeup, Raducanu injury woes
We've returned! Joel, Kim and Chris are back with a bang to round up the past week on tour, with Team Europe clinching the Laver Cup in last-ditch fashion from Team World, Rafa Nadal confirmed for the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga this November, and a host of Asian Swing tournaments to wrap up, including a win for retro Marin Cilic and a trophy on home turf for Shang Juncheng in Chengdu. Coaching changes abound too with Coco Gauff splitting from Brad Gilbert, and Naomi Osaka and Wim Fissette parting ways with Osaka moving to Team Mouratoglou. US Open Finals - Sinner supreme with second slam win, Sabalenka gains sweet NYC revenge
The US Open 2024 Finals are upon us! After a fortnight of thrills, spills and few a shock along the way, Joel, Kim and Chris are back to look back at the men’s and women’s singles finals. Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka have made it two hard court slams from two this year, with straight sets victories over first time American finalists Taylor Fritz and Jessica Pegula respectively. The trio delve into the key talking points from both finals, as well as celebrating some success for Great Britain with Mika Stojsavljevic becoming the first British girls' Grand Slam champion in 15 years. US Open SFs - Draper voms as Sinner triumphs, Pegula set for Sabalenka Showdown
Semis, semis, semis and there was a bit of everything on show at the US Open - including a bit of Jack Draper vom on the tennis court. That aside, it was Jannik Sinner who reached his first Grand Slam final in Flushing Meadows with a straight sets victory over the Brit in conditions that pushed both competitors to the limit. And the Italian will go on to face Taylor Fritz who became the first American since 2009 to reach a Major final (Andy Roddick at Wimbledon!) with a five set win over Frances Tiafoe who was running on empty by the end. And in the women’s draw, we may not have got the Battle of the Billionaire daughters but Jessica Pegula powered into her debut Slam final with a three set win over Karolina Muchova to set up an intriguing duel with Aryna Sabalenka who is chasing her second Major title of the season. US Open QFs - Pegula + Fritz lead US charge on titles, magic Draper strolls into Sinner semi
The Americans are coming for a US Open title with 4 American players into the last 4 across the men’s and women’s events. Could it be an all American double and one of Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe taking home the title along with Jessica Pegula or Emma Navarro? Trying to stop the American party in New York is World Number 1 Jannik Sinner who got his revenge over Daniil Medvedev for his Wimbledon loss and set up a semi-final against Britain’s Jack Draper. US Open R3 - Djokovic fall adds to Alcaraz shock, Gauff fights through + Week 2 preview
The second week is set at the US Open in Flushing Meadows, without Novak Djokovic or Carlos Alcaraz. Words we never thought we would be saying! Alexei Popyrin got his revenge after losing to Novak Djokovic twice at slams already this year. This means Novak Djokovic is without a slam for the first time since 2017 and the first time since 2002 that one of the Big 3 have not won a slam. Now that the draw has opened it up it presents a big opportunity for slam winner Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev as well as home hopes Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul and Frances Tiafoe to be the first US male winner since Andy Roddick in 2004! On the women’s side the top seeds had no trouble racing through to Week 2, with Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Sabalenka and Paolini all breezing through to Round 4. Muchova and Wozniacki are on the comeback trail and have made it to the fourth round for the second year in a row despite not having the most time on court in preparation. Joel and Kim are here to catch up on the second round action from Flushing Meadows in New York City, with the US Open now well underway in the hot, hot heat. Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton have made their way through to setting up a highly anticipated US Open rematch in the 3rd round after their comfortable wins in the round of 64. Joel, Kim and Chris are back to preview the US Open, which very excitingly gets underway this coming Monday, on the courts of Flushing Meadows. Sinner SHOCK as failed drug tests cloud crack at US Open - our reaction
The tennis world is in a state of SHOCK... as it's announced World Number 1 Jannik Sinner has escaped a drugs ban after two failed tests earlier in the year. Canada - Popyrin surprise as Pegula defends, Tsitsipas family split + Nadal to miss US Open

Olympics special! Djokovic completes tennis, Zheng makes history + Murray's final goodbye
Joel, Kim and Chris are back together to catch up on all the tennis action from the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Novak Djokovic finally completed a career Golden Slam by winning a much coveted Gold Medal in a rematch of last month's Wimbledon Final against Carlos Alcaraz. Meanwhile, Britain’s Andy Murray finally drew the curtains on his tennis career after bowing out alongside Dan Evans in the doubles event. China’s Qinwen Zheng made history by winning the gold for her country, defeating Roland Garros Queen Iga Swiatek en route to the Final, and dispatching an in form Donna Vekic in the Gold Medal match. Jasmine Paolini also put behind her recent run of Final defeats to clinch the Olympic women’s doubles title with compatriot Sara Errani With mixed doubles joy for Czech pair Machac and Siniakova as well as Angie Kerber also having played her last competitive match, there are plenty of talking points from the Paris Olympics. Wimbledon Men's Final - Awesome Alcaraz defends title, Djokovic denied grand slam #25
It’s the final episode from Tennis Weekly as the Wimbledon fortnight draws to a close, and Joel, Kim and Chris are back together to dissect the Men’s Singles Final which saw Carlos Alcaraz dominate Novak Djokovic to successfully defend his Wimbledon title. In a comprehensive straight sets victory, Alcaraz delighted fans on Centre Court, outclassing Djokovic to do the rare Roland Garros and Wimbledon double (also known as 'The Channel Slam'). Elsewhere, Alfie Hewett won his first Wimbledon wheelchair singles title to complete a career Grand Slam as well as winning another wheelchair doubles title with compatriot Gordon Reid. Hsieh Si-Wei and Jan Zielinski also won the mixed doubles title comfortably, capturing their second Slam together. Wimbledon Ladies' Final - Barbora Krejcikova wins 2nd singles slam, Henry Patten does it for the brits in doubles
Wimbledon Ladies Singles Final Day at Wimbledon 2024 which saw Barbora Krejcikova pick up her second Grand Slam singles title, conquering the grass of SW19. With a gritty three set win over rising Italian star Jasmine Paolini, Krejcikova became the 5th Czech women’s Wimbledon Champion in history and the seventh first time winner of the Venus Rosewater dish in a row. Britain’s Henry Patten also clinched the Men’s doubles title with his Finnish partner Harri Heliovaara in dramatic fashion, saving Championships points to win in a Championship tiebreak. Whilst Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova took home the Ladies doubles title with a closely fought victory on a late night on Centre Court. Kim and Chris also look ahead to tomorrow’s Men’s Singles final action - a repeat of the 2023 Final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic.
