A Word of Encouragement

Following Jesus was never promised to be easy—but it was promised to be worth it. This Is Temporary

What do you do when following Jesus gets costly? As we continue walking through 1 Peter, we’re reminded that persecution, pressure, rejection, and suffering have always been part of the story of God’s people—but they never get the final word. Peter writes to believers who are scattered, misunderstood, and facing real opposition, yet he keeps pointing them beyond what they’re experiencing to what God has promised. The pressure may be real, but it’s temporary. The opposition may be loud, but it’s temporary. The suffering may hurt, but this is temporary. In Episode 8, we talk about how to remain faithful when culture pushes back, why suffering doesn’t mean God has abandoned you, and how an eternal perspective changes the way you endure temporary pain. Don’t let a temporary season make you question an eternal promise.

Hostile Territory

To the Street Team, scattered across cities and nations, grace and peace be multiplied to you in Christ Jesus. As we continue our journey through the letter of Peter, we are reminded that following Christ has never promised the applause of men. The people of God have always been strangers in the world, citizens of another Kingdom, and witnesses in places that do not always welcome the truth. In this episode, we consider what it means to live faithfully in hostile territory. How should believers respond when they are misunderstood, opposed, or treated as outsiders? How do we stand firm without becoming bitter? And what does it look like to represent Jesus in a culture that grows increasingly resistant to Him? Peter reminds us that suffering for Christ is not evidence of God’s absence, but often confirmation that we belong to Him. Though the world may reject us, we have been chosen by God. Stand firm. Do not grow weary.
