Phill Cochran: Lessons Out of the Blue

Mary welcomes Retired Lt. Col Phill Cochran who flew the F-16 Fighting Falcon for more than 2 decades. For 23 years he also stood behind the pulpit, preaching and teaching God’s Word. In God’s classroom, he began to connect the dots among military service, high-performance flight, and deeper spiritual truths. Today we talk about his book, “Lessons Learned at the Speed of Sound”, a book of 40 devotionals to encourage and challenge us on such important subjects as grace, repentance, perseverance, correction, joy and sorrow, temptation and hope. Seeing how God weaves our life choices together with His care and sovereignty in our lives is a rich experience, and Phill’s story is no less a picture of how our times are truly in His hands, and our walks become fruit of the classrooms into which He puts us. As another school year begins, will we see our schedule of classes as from His loving hand? Sheri Few: School Bells, Warning Bells

Mary welcomes back Sheri Few, Founder and President of United States Parents Involved in Education (USPIE), whose mission is to end the U.S. Department of Education and all federal education mandates. USPIE has established 20 state chapters and is growing rapidly amid the national outcry from parents who want to regain control of their children’s education. Today we talk about how to not sleepwalk through the school year, put it in park and just go through the motions. Getting parents engaged and alert, putting their child’s education back into their own hands is a worthy goal. As the years blend together, the woke crowd never rests in their goal to indoctrinate children into a destructive and many times evil agenda. How can parents take back public education, on the local level? Is it redeemable at all? Who are the movers and shakers and those who decide what the kids will learn? An important conversation with a true expert on the public schools of today. Headlines: The Courage of Convictions in a Confusing World

Today’s news cycle deserves some social/philosophical/matters-of-the-heart type ponderings. The reason for that is, we have all collectively paused what we were occupied with to pay attention to Lindsey Clancy, the blank-eyed premeditated murderer of 3 innocent children. And the jury is locked in what is likely a moral conversation. How can it not be? And in a nation/world that has forgotten God and thereby loosed its moral moorings, things are likely to get even more convoluted because there are no standards. People want to come to the aid and compassion of the murderer in this upside down world, but how did we get here? Time to talk about these things. We also talk about Iran, calling out false teachers without compromise, and natural disasters that are on the uptick. A full hour of varied and sundry takes on this crazy, chaotic world.

    Marziyeh Amirizadeh: Captive in Iran

Mary welcomes new guest Marziyeh Amirizadeh to talk about the 8 months she spent in a brutal Iranian prison for her faith in Jesus. Born just before the overthrow of the Shah in 1979, the Iran of her parents and grandparents transformed virtually overnight with the rise of the clerics – and strict Sharia law. We learn her story of being arrested for sharing the love of Christ to her fellow Persians and what took place behind the walls of Evin prison, one of the most brutal in the world. Accounts of fellow inmates and the lack of basic amenities paints a picture of a sort of bleak hopelessness that many of us in the West would find intolerable and beyond. But God. And there lies the immensity of her story – the presence of the Lord, the opportunities to bind up the wounds of women living lives of degrading sin and fear. Being a bright light in the darkest of places. The worldwide outrage. The steadfast faith of Marzi and her friend Maryam will leave you breathless. We talk about the process of getting into such a place, enduring it, and getting out. Then we follow up with her current ministry, New Persia. Find her books here – you will be changed. Mike Gallo: Cancer, Crisis and the Truth That Holds

NEW PODCAST: Mike Gallo first joined Dave Wager back in the spring of 2025 to share how cancer had affected his life and faith. Now Mike returns with more of the story. More cancer, more physical challenges, and a growing conviction that God has used these difficult seasons to change his priorities, loosen his grip on control, and open unexpected opportunities to serve and encourage a younger generation. Dave and Mike explore what happens when the truth we say we believe is tested by cancer, loss, pain, and the reality of death. They discuss the danger of allowing feelings and circumstances to control our thinking, and why biblical truth needs to be firmly planted before the crisis comes. At the center is the promise of Romans 8:38-39: nothing can separate those who are in Christ from the love of God.

Debbie Wuthnow: Midterm Mayhem and Election Anxiety

Mary chats with Debbie Wuthnow of iVoterGuide, a ministry of American Family Association, about the midterms, and the crossroads at which we Americans find ourselves. Thanks to iVoterGuide, we can have access to tremendous amounts of research on all the midterm elections – scorecards, polling places, dates and much more – because an educated electorate benefits our nation. Most people don’t realize that primary elections decide the vast majority of races; if people don’t vote on the ground level, say locally for school boards or in state and national primaries, they can’t truly complain about having lousy candidates. We are leaving our votes outsourced to our neighbor if we don’t turn out. Yet primary voting numbers are notoriously low. So here we are, November 3 fast approaching. Thirty-nine state governorships are up for grabs, and flipping the House and Senate are also possibilities. Add Ai into the mix, and Democratic Socialists, and it’s easy to see that the face of our nation is changing fast, and not for the best if you are concerned about voting Christian values. WE should be determining who best represents our values, not our neighbor who doesn’t often have a biblical worldview. What are some of the issues? What about Ai, foreign and domestic? Is it the economy? A lot to cover in our pre-midterm chat with Debbie Wuthnow. Brady Blevins: Transformation Agents – from Spirituality to Sharia

Mary welcomes back Dr. Brady Blevins of Watchman Fellowship to talk about the more diverse and interesting ways our culture and the church are being transformed. Burning Man, which starts this weekend, is the most visible example of what are called “Transformational Festivals”. What are they transforming? Themselves? The culture at large? Attendees seem to think they are practicing the future, a future of pagan, New Age, cosmic consciousness – a utopia of inclusiveness, earth worship, and paganism – in which adherents look within and find a god. Not THE God, of course, Who is outside of His creation. We talk about all those things they say and believe that we understand will of course lead to massive deception and delusion. Then we discuss another kind of transformation – in our cities and towns – the encroachment of radical Islam. What is Sharia Law? Is it codified or something much more insidious and dangerous? A full hour with the senior apologist at Watchman Fellowship. Headlines: Postcards from Babel

Tim and Mary take on the news cycle with a bit of a twist: living large in the last days, Babylon style. We talk about the change of seasons and how that brings a reality to the times. The nature of worship today is certainly one of the changes we have waded through, but not just to add to the conversation about it, rather perhaps put a finger on the problem: subjectivity. In the pursuit of making sure the Holy Spirit shows up to our gatherings, we have all but stopped worshiping in Spirit AND in truth: with our minds and our hearts. We talk about the hymn culture that produced doctrine and how that leads us in worship. Then we look at being ambassadors for Christ, doing the King’s bidding in our service, not our own or even for our own earthly home. Finally, how some are paying the price for serving the King wherever they might find themselves. Hello from Babylon, wish you were here…but there’s no place like home.

Jeff Kinley: Anchoring a Generation Through Prophecy

Mary welcomes back Jeff Kinley to talk about bringing hope to our kids – through bible prophecy. Back in the 70s and 80s, the youth were clamoring for more information about Jesus’ return. It anchored us, gave us hope and caused us to look beyond the troubles and fleeting sense that all humans experience. Then what happened? Churches stopped teaching prophecy. The rapture became a comedic, scoffing byline – and with all that the sense of hope that our youth could rise above the floodwaters of a chaotic and dying world. Today we talk to Jeff about his Future Hope Student/Youth conferences. What are the goals and hopes of reaching out to our kids once again with the blessed hope? Why is it that so many told churches to stop talking about prophecy, and scaring the kids? We make the case that while sobering, “scary” should never be any reason to cut a big chunk of Scripture out of our kids’ lives – and our own. We also catch up with the Prophecy Pro’s Conferences. A thoughtful hour of hope and help. Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A

J Warner Wallace: Identity Crisis – Christ or Culture?

Mary welcomes back premier apologist J. Warner Wallace to talk about our identity in Christ, and our identity in Christ in – America. He enjoys asking his audiences questions like ” Why Are You a Christian?” and “Why Aren’t You a Christian?”. The answers to those simple questions tell him and us a lot about the state of the church today. Our identity is everything. In Christ it’s “received, not achieved”. But in the culture it might be based on your identity politics, your social, economic and educational status, or your appearance – and a host of other qualifiers. In Christ, we already should know who we are based on Who He is, and that should set the stage for everything we say and do. Does it? Why is the church having an identity crisis then, because the Bible tells us all about Whom we worship and how to live. But we are so busy deconstructing, taking dominion, and worrying about who is in charge of the world that we just forget who we are and what the church is for. And then there is social media where we are all grappling to state and defend our own identity. A full hour of reasoning together on the church’s identity crisis here in 2026. Mary Danielsen: From the Upper Room to the End of the Age

What is dispensationalism? What is the alternate view, covenant theology? Many Christians don't understand why dispensationalism is being attacked with such vigor; perhaps those doing the attacking don't either but the prevailing mood today is, there is no rapture or at least not one that takes the Christians out of the world before judgment. And Israel? Well, they aren't even in the picture and what's more, that's not Israel over in, well, Israel. On today's SUFTT, Mary starts with biblical interpretive systems of prophecy and from there expands on the really big picture of dispensationalism and how it beautifully fits the historical-grammatical-literal interpretation of Scripture. Are we seeing the church age wrap up and the Day of the Lord commence? We look at the history of the Jews, the Temples that have come and gone and why; and why the rapture is as important to us as it would be to Israel. A full hour of fascinating bunny trails. Headlines: Ideas Have Consequences – When Ideologies Engage

In today's news cycle, what is drawing the most attention is competing ideologies: Islam, Communism, Darwinism - and even Ai? Is that an ideology, or just a basket of algorithms? We talk about all these movements that are converging on our world all at once. Meanwhile, the Christian voice is being drowned out, by design - and yet, as Gamaliel famously said in Acts 5:38-39, " And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing; but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it—lest you even be found to fight against God.” And all these ideologies do just that - fight against God. But God is on the throne, we read the end of the book and we know who wins. So how can we come against all these philosophies of men and still be heard? The still small voice of God that Elijah heard still saves - one heart at a time. What can man do to me? A timely discussion of ideologies and elections and when it all comes to nothing.

JB Hixson: Don’t Just Do Something, Stand There!

Dr. JB Hixson Mary welcomes pastor and author JB Hixson back to SUFTT to talk about toning down the chaos and pressure and spending time in the Lord's presence. Life used to pace like a slow-cooker ("crock pot" for all you Boomer/Millennial types) but now it's a pressure cooker, no longer even the front burner or microwave. Faster doesn't mean better, and in the spiritual realm of things, faster and with a side of drama produces not much except Christianity Lite. Today we pace ourselves through 1 Kings 19 and the drama that was the life of Elijah at times. Having just gone through a tumult with the prophets of Baal, he finds himself in need of rest before he can go on. By the time he gets to that cave in Horeb, he's depleted and depressed and wondering what's next. It's then that the Lord speaks to him, but in that still small way that we hear when the Spirit is working in hearts. After letting him pour out his heart, God sends him on his way. It's not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit. Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A

Replay – Trey Dellinger: the Culture, the Pulpit, and the Courthouse

[Originally aired 1/22/26] Mary welcomes back Trey Dellinger, the Senior Legal Fellow of AFA Action, the government affairs affiliate of American Family Association. Trey has his finger on the pulse of the moral issues that affect our churches and our families. Today we look at the current SCOTUS cases on trans athletes in women's sports. Trey gives us the rundown on those cases and why he has reason for optimism. Then we look at the first amendment as it relates to protesters storming churches. Whether it's for attention or to bait Christians about race and their perspectives on what is important, we have to see what our rights are as believers. We also take a look at how our kids can be better protected online, since parents aren't always the best gatekeepers - although that is their job. Finally we look at Human Trafficking Prevention month. So many moral issues, how do we keep up, and how can we help pastors keep up as well? Chris Chiles: God’s Pit Crew – Grace on the Ground

For the first half of today's edition of SUFTT, Mary welcomes Chris Chiles, director of the Immediate Response Team of God's Pit Crew who are in Wisconsin to bring hope and relief to the Fox Valley to those suffering the aftermath of adverse weather. Having dispatched multiple tractor-trailer loads of critical relief supplies from their HQ in Danville, Virginia, they are now in the process of clearing, comforting, and rebuilding. We talk about the ministry in general, what it takes to be able to offer their services at no charge to a community, and how they bring Jesus to those who lost everything in the blink of an eye. Chris has such a heart for people, and the ministry has impacted lives around the globe. Also, where else are they needed this year, in a Summer of record heat, rain and wind? How can we come alongside them? Then in our 2nd half, Mary covers a few of the day's top stories of interest to the believer. Bill McKeever: Mormonism 101

Mary welcomes Bill McKeever, longtime student and expert on Mormonism to the podcast, to give the listener a refresher on all things Mormon. With today's emphasis on Mormonism being just another branch of Christianity, this gives an opportunity to have a clearer understanding of what they believe. We might hear the details once or twice, but many of us haven't had time or inclination to really understand it. But most of us have or will encounter Mormons or Mormonism in the course of our Christian walk and so whatever we can glean from someone who has studied it for decades will probably prove to be useful. We discuss the main teachings, starting with their doctrine about the nature of God and Jesus; salvation, atonement, the priesthood, eternity, and so much more. Bill's extensive understanding of this movement gives us an opportunity to sharpen our discernment. Headlines: Europe and Israel – Parallel Prophetic Destinies

Tim and Mary talk about two very timely, and ancient destinies: the modern EU, destined to bring forth antichrist, and Israel, destined for redemption through Jesus Christ. The EU is at a crossroads in that the world sees it as a supranational failure of bureaucracy and potential tyranny. Israel has neighbor problems, but they will not only do what they must to survive, they will continue to pursue a Temple, and await the Messiah. The Sanhedrin met recently to petition heaven to reveal her Messiah and rebuild that third Temple. They also want the spirit of prophecy revived, but Jesus IS their Prophet, Priest, and King. What a time to be alive, to see these parallel tracks of fulfillment come ever closer to one another. The future is set by God Himself, and we are at the edge of our seats. Another full hour of watching and waiting, observing and monitoring. Come Lord Jesus! David Spagnola: The Third Watch – Dangers, Toils and Snares

Mary welcomes author and watchman David Spagnola to talk about what we need to heed in this late hour regarding the church. The "third watch" of the night in the Bible represented a specific military guard shift and symbolized alertness, readiness and things that go bump in the deep night. As a church, David warns us in his book, "The Silent Pulpit" of the dangers, toils and snares of the times we live in, specifically things preachers no longer preach. As a watchman, he exposes the patterns that churches have fallen into, thinking they are simply "doing church" when in reality the slide toward lukewarmness is so far gone, one wonders what the church was ever supposed to look like anymore. David has a love for the church and Bible prophecy and while writing about such things is grievous and sobering, to fail to warn the church is to be a watchmen that has fallen asleep on his or her shift. And at this point, it's the late shifts that are the most difficult. Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A

Replay – Dave Wager: Four Old Lessons

[Originally aired 3/2/26] Stand Up For The Truth features Dave Wager teaching solo, walking listeners through what he calls “four old lessons” from the book of Job, anchored by 1 Peter 5:8, the warning to stay alert because the devil prowls like a roaring lion. Dave frames the whole conversation around “principles” versus opinions, perspectives, or methods. Principles do not change, regardless of feelings or culture, and Job’s story is used as a clear example. He starts with Job 1, highlighting Job’s integrity and unusual blessing, then pulls back the curtain to Job 1:6 and the heavenly scene where God points to Job as blameless and upright, showing that what heaven calls “great” is character, not comfort. From there, Dave lays out the four lessons: (1) there is an active spiritual battle, (2) the fight centers on people, our allegiance and trust in God, (3) the crowd, even close friends, cannot define truth, and (4) believers must keep growing through humility and repentance. Along the way he illustrates spiritual attack with a vivid story about a cat tormenting a chipmunk, and he warns that deception often feels like “light” (2 Corinthians 11:14). Job’s response to loss becomes a model for suffering with worship and steady truth (Job 1:21), and God’s questioning in Job 38 becomes a reminder to focus on what we know about God when we cannot explain what we are living through. Dave closes by re-centering “blessing” as being used by God to represent Him, not simply having ease, and points listeners to God’s higher ways (Isaiah 55:8–9) and His proven Word as refuge (Psalm 18:30).

Bamshak and Makayla Dagwer: Seeds of Hope

Mary welcomes missionaries Bamshak Dagwer and his wife Makayla to talk about what it means to grow up in Nigeria under the unending threat of violence and persecution. They are the founders and directors of Seeds of Hope Nigeria, a Christ-centered ministry dedicated to restoring hope to vulnerable and displaced children through the love of Christ. Born and raised in Nigeria, Bamshak survived the horrific religious violence that has plagued his homeland for more than two decades. Witnessing the loss of loved ones and experiencing God’s miraculous protection transformed his life and ignited a calling to serve those whose lives have been shattered by conflict. Bamshak met his wife, Makayla, from Green Bay, Wisconsin, while serving as missionaries with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in the Philippines. After more than ten years of ministry together in the Philippines and Nigeria, they founded Seeds of Hope Nigeria in 2017 in response to God’s call to care for displaced children and share the hope of the Gospel. Under their leadership, it has grown into a thriving ministry that provides a safe home, Christian education, discipleship, vocational training, and pastoral care for vulnerable children. Their vision extends beyond meeting immediate needs—they are raising Christ-centered leaders who will bring lasting hope and transformation to Nigeria and beyond. We take our SUFTT conversation international, so the listener can get a taste for what God is doing in another corner of Christendom.
