And oh boy does this movie have some literary references to make. One might go so far as saying that’s all it’s doing, in fact. But hey, we also got some kinda ugly book friends voiced by famous actors along the way and maybe, just maybe, a young boy can gain the confidence to jump a sewage pipe on his bike. All thanks to the power of reading (probably).

Tetsuya proves that he does belong in this story, and we learn Nakago’s tragic backstory. We get a great near death vision from Tamahome and then we get to the end. Miaka doesn’t think the book is evil, but it definitely is. Come on now.

Fushigi Yuugi Ep 42-44: Not Hitting the Same

Joe is eagerly awaiting a vacation and has done little else in the meantime, while Sarah has dialed back some going out, but just a little. Then we talk about direct to DVD Disney movies for a while, as one does… Then in Fushigi Yugi, we get into some more relationship drama that leads us up the mountain, where we finally get back to the plot of getting the Shinzaho. We also learn that old geezers still got it. But none of this really matters because the important thing is that Keisuke and Tetsuya are making friends and having great adventures together. They’re great. Finally, we round out the episodes by saying goodbye to our, uh, dear friend. I guess…Oh yeah, and Yui summons Seiryuu.

Revolutionary Girl Utena Manga (BONUS)
