    70: Rebecca Hormann on a Standout Year, Leaning Into Fear & Exploring

    Very excited to welcome Rebecca Hormann to the podcast. This year, she's had one of the standout seasons in the sport: winning the 200-mile Terra de Gigantes crossing of Portugal, followed by a top 10 finish at Madeira Ultra Trail against a stacked international field, and recently she became part of the top 15th women that have ran a sub-20 Bob Graham Round in the Lake District. She shares more about this year's journey, from bringing on a coach for the first time to racing less and putting more focus into the each events. We explore the importance of exploring more of what scares you, whether that's a technical descent or an entire distance, and why she refuses to box herself into one type of race. She is is an adventurer, based in the UK who loves running and exploring in the mountains, and this December, she became the first person ever to complete a Winter Dragon FKT. It represents 370 kilometres and over 16,000 meters of elevation along the spine of the mountains of Wales. This FKT is the result of years building experience, skills, and confidence, and we explore where her sense of adventure comes from, with curiosity as a starting point always.
