Dr. Shadee Elmasry, born and raised in New Jersey, is a distinguished Islamic scholar with a profound impact on the Muslim community. He embarked on his journey of Islamic studies at eighteen, traveling to various countries including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Morocco to gain traditional Islamic knowledge. Dr. Elmasry holds an M.A. from The George Washington University and a Ph.D. from the University of London, SOAS.

Dr. Elmasry has an extensive teaching background, having lectured at prestigious institutions such as Yale University, SOAS, Trinity College, Hartford Seminary, and Manhattanville College. Currently, he serves as the Scholar in Residence at the New Brunswick Islamic Center in New Jersey. In addition to his teaching roles, he is the founder and head of Safina Society, an organization dedicated to promoting traditional Islamic education in the West.

Dr. Elmasry is a prolific speaker and writer, contributing to various Islamic educational platforms and engaging in community outreach through his lectures and writings. His work emphasizes the importance of integrating traditional Islamic principles with contemporary issues, making his teachings relevant and accessible to modern audiences​.
