The Sun that makes the Day.

If you thought the NFL lit up the City of Melbourne, and it did, wait 'til you hear about the other invasion of the CBD from the NFI. If you don't know what that stands for, then you are obviously a card carrying NFI member. The musical flood gates opened as our intrepid legal beagle braved the noctural nasties to attend a musical séance to revive the pulsating punk and rejuvinating rock of The Damned. It is a concert review like no other. And before you can say Rat Scabies three times while gargling battery acid, the show has moved from the NFI to the AFL, the NRL, the EPL and the bloody L - time to go. It is a full plate of tasty offerings. There's Dockers, Rockers, Shockers, Knockers and Wocka Wocka Wockas. Ruck On! Four Strong Winds

Standby for shocks and surprises as the faint waft of warmer weather dents the bozone layer and a sliver of 2026 shines on proceedings, delivering a rare foray into music made since the turn of the century. Ken reviews Hot Machine's latest gig and previews their debut album. But wait, there's more: Finey has discovered a English pop star Sienna Spiro, who is younger than most of Stephen J Peak's socks. Pass the smelling salts because that's not all. Spoiler alert: Clarkson gets boned, tennis fans get stoned, the Crows get no love and where is that missing glove? Bloody Well Right !

Finals, Fathers, Football, Food and several other F words get quite a workout this week, but it is the E words that bring the self-appointed resident show wordsmith to his knees. Spoiler alert: the E words may or may not include emasculated, emaciated, erection, eviscerated, easy, ego or elephant. All are in the room. There is a healthy serving of footy talk, a pinch of racing news, a sprinkle of darts, a spoonful of tennis and sadly a big helping of farewells in a star-studded Deathalyser. Vale Dolly. Grab your Oxford, Collins, Macquarie or even your Funk and Wagnalls and suspend your tenure with the English language. Listen Like Thieves.

In a packed podcast, we review all the AFL sides that didn't make the top ten. There's also cricket, EPL, AFLW and the Deathalyser. Even non-working new speakers cannot silence the legal eagle when he takes flight. When it comes to discussions regarding the Bombers, Stephen J is 'hird' loud and clear. Ken unplugs himself mid show (who can blame him), but despite those technical hiccups, we soldier on. The tipping competition is now in the rear vision mirror and as expected, Finey is the Tipping King and the wooden spoon resides in the House of Francis. And to finish, some startling revelations about the rather 'Oliver' type childhood activities of one member of the ensemble. Hey, Street Sweeper, Clear My Way.

Crown King Fine the Tipping Guru. As the home and away season comes to a close, Finey, like the AFL Dockers, has top spot under lock and key. Kev, like the AFL Swans, is in second spot and that is where the similarity ends. The battle for the all important and less embarrassing third spot is on like Donkey Kong. Ken holds a one point lead over SJ Peak. If that is not enough excitement for one week, wait - there's more. Thanks to questions supplied by our listeners (both of them) the origins of each panellists' football loyalties is revealed along with the answer to the question: What did you want to be when you grow up? The program also contains Logie references, mindless waffling, piss taking, questionable cricket selections, unqualified racing references, general gibberish and verbal flatulence of an epic nature. Have your boarding pass ready for inspection. Ruck ON!!!! First Set of Wheels.

In between keen, astute and educated observations about sport, life and the world, Ruck 'n Roll has never lost touch with its inner teenage boy. Juvenile, cheeky, naughty and in need of a good kick up the backside, this week our foolish foursome fondly remember their first car, a pivotal life milestone. Match the stars and cars: a green Datsun called The Frog, a Toyota Shaggin' Wagon, a gold Torana sports coupe and an XT Falcon known as The Thunderbolt. No Pedestrians, Bicycles, Animals or Tractors Beyond This Point. Ladies and gentleman, start your engines. Fight For Your Right To Peaky!

Who are Toby Petts, Snitch Harvey, Lady Lou and Bijou Elijah and what do they have to do with this edition of Ruck 'n Roll? All this and more is revealed. But thank goodness there's more, including SJP's wrap up of the Commonwealth Games, which might be finished by the Indian Games. INTERMISSION. Now where were we? There's cricket, passionate kissing and snacks. Find out the shows the boys walked out on. You still there? It's game on for the tipping competition as first and last are up for grabs. Guaranteed the only podcast this week to include a Napoleon quote, an explanation of plastinating bodies, porn names and the sad tale of buying online gadgets. Ruck ON!!!! A Juvenile Product of the Working Class.

The things you learn on a episode of Ruck 'n Roll are staggering, amazing and sad, but true. Hands on buzzers. Which of our fearless foursome revealed: he sang backing vocals on The Bruce Ruxton Rap? his first record purchase was Easy Street by Jeff Duff's Kush? his karaoke moment was House of the Rising Sun? he loved the music of and wanted to be just like Gary Glitter? Explains a lot, doesn't it? Pull back the curtain on another adults-only excursion into the murky waters of the gene pool from unnamed donors otherwise known as Ruck 'n Roll ... Hello there Sailor.

They won't be silenced and if they were, there really would be nothing to see or hear here. There is much to discuss in the world of sport, entertainment and life in general and there is plenty to digest here. The World Cup and other football codes get a full examination, as do golf. athletics, darts and sugar free eating. Musically, it is one for the ages. Pick three songs you never want to hear again and three that will play forever. It is a hell of a task and the results will surprise. Grab the popcorn (sugar free please), a beverage (non alcoholic) and a can-do attitude and away we gooooooooooooooo... Time You Straighten Right Out

Prepare to have your horizons broadened, your borders invaded, your portfolio investigated and maybe even your humerus tickled and your morals probed. These are men on a mission, most likely a mission impossible. Though if the mission was to mention Buster Bloodvessel, Dermott Brereton, the late Derryn Hinch and cannibalism all in the one show, then it's a surprisingly successful mission. Finey has selected Ska for discussion which is a giant pogo jump out of the panel's musical comfort zone. This tape will self destruct in about 1 hour 36 minutes and 55 seconds. No Milk Today.

As the EOFY sales come to a halt, it is time to take stock of the sporting year. Our fearless, peerless (and some would say clueless) panellists give their three predictions for the rest of the year. Finey forsees the World Cup, Brownlow, AFL Premiers, Coleman Medal & Melbourne Cup results. Kev's prognostications are England's chances in the World Cup plus changes at the top of Aussie cricket and AFL HQ. Stephen J uses his crystal ball (stop sniggering please) to announce the 2026 AFL Premiers and the woman who will win Wimbledon and the US Open. New balls please. Ken is missing this week - he had a better offer. Hard to believe, we know, but seeing Colin Hay live at Elisabeth Murdoch Hall seemed more appealing. Full report next week. The Rain, The Park and Other Things.

The sporting cup runneth over, with World Cup football, darts, Wimbledon, US Open golf, State of Origin Rugby League, netball finals and of course yet another round of our favourite - AFL. In the hotly contested Lenny's Fine Food Tipping Competition, Ken tipped the card in a form reversal to rival anything seen on a sporting field anywhere. This week there's plenty of sport to discuss and Finey even went to the theatre. Musically, it's families in the spotlight and you will be surprised to hear some of the names bandied about including The Hives, Greta Van Fleet, The DeFranco Family and Iggy and the Stooges. What the Family indeed. Thank your mother for the rabbits. Mrs Slocombe’s Pussy

Welcome aboard your weekly flight to the Bermuda Triangle of podcasting otherwise known as Ruck 'n Roll (insert Vincent Price Thriller laugh but strictly no MJ-like groin touching). Captain Hillier speaking at the controls, along with First Officer Kenny 'Cockpit' Francis and your cabin crew Purser Peak and our Chef de Mission - launching Lenny's Fine Flying Food - Mark Fine. Our flight time is one hour but with the expected wind gusts from the Purser and the constant re-rooting of the flight path, delays to our final destination are expected. There will be turbulence, plus altitude and attitude variances, and please observe the 'no smirking' signs. For the comfort of your fellow passengers, please keep flatulence to a minimum, belching to an acceptable volume and strictly no nose picking. For your listening enjoyment the cabin crew will be with you soon to see if you would like headphones. Before you do that old joke remember who make up our cabin crew. It's a Little Bit F-Funny?

'As the chill of winter brings its icy countenance' is a nice turn of phrase and might be a good opening line for a Bureau of Meteorology staff meeting, but here it acts as an entree to the cold, hard reality of this episode's freshly generated word salad. It's festive, frivilous, fractious, forthright, fearless, feckless, flamboyant, fiery and flawed ... and even Kev has injected an F word to keep the show moving forward. Performance Enhancing Mugs.

Is it vile or vial? Is it cheating or competing? Is it right or rort? A robust discussion about the Enhanced Games is just part of the fun and games in this episode. The robustness continues through football of all codes and modes and our intrepid panel drill down on everything from commentary to name changes and even some dental cover. The perils of the pre-recorded show strike as we discuss Brad Scott's coaching future. There's five minutes we will never get back. And to finish this episode we pay tribute to the great Neale Daniher. Play on. Beam Me Up Scotty!

We go all out for the celebration of Scott Pendlebury's AFL games record. Every 433 seconds, one of our intrepid team will say something Scott related. Listen carefully because it maybe subtle, vague or even obtuse. Also in this Scott-stacked episode, a deep dive into World of Scott. We dare ask the questions that have puzzled for years: Is Scott a better surname or Christian name? Is Scot-free really free ? Was Scott of the Antarctic reckless? When did Australian Crawl lyrics become relevant or intelligible? And that smooth segue leads us into this: Instead of the usual dusty Top 40 chart or a musical autopsy on an artist's life's work, it's 'Scott Mania'. Who is the best Scott? Is it an actor, a singer, an explorer or maybe a golfer, writer or a Thunderbird? What?!!! Get on board the Scott Express, leaving now ...... Ruck ON!!! Some Like it Hot

Robust, spirited, feisty, vigorous, unyielding, tempered, lively, compelling and intense are just some of the words you won't hear in this episode of Ruck 'n Roll, but several describe the nature of banter in this week's program. You might like to add inane, irrelevant, unprintable, insulting and nonsensical. No more words, time for some music. Our musical journey takes us to the Bermuda Triangle of Top 40 on board a 3XY chart from May of 1985. It has not aged well. It's Not Unusual.

All hands are on deck for this episode as Stephen J Peak returns. It is a culinary explosion as Stephen shares his rather dubious degustation destination during his absence. Who knew dinner could be an occupation!? The SJP Experience isn't finished there, wait 'til you hear about his nocturnal balcony activities. The following episode is rated OMG and may contain Adult Themes with childish giggling, Nudity with screaming and vomiting, Language other than English and Foul and Horror - God you will experience the horror. You will also hear the occasional intelligent discussion about sport and musically, Sir Thomas Jones Woodward aka Tom Jones is the act under the spotlight. So all join hands and try to contact the living ... Ruck ON!!! Accidently Kenny Street!

Mark Fine returns from Singapore and Stephen J Peak is a no show! Shock! Horror! Gasp! The gossip columnists would dine out on this development, but nothing to see here. No IVO's here, the only orders Mr. Peak is interested in come from Uber Eats. In this episode Anzac Day and the Anzac Appeal round get a robust 360 review. As does the AFL's ARC, Scott Pendlebury and Billy Field. That would be the first time that pair have ever been in the same sentence. Musically, as we use the term loosely, we head to 1992 and dive head first into the ARIA Top 40 for the year, which has Billy Ray Cyrus perched at number 1. Nuff said.
