From the RRM archive Why did God choose Israel? Not because they were faithful, great, or pure. In the Parable of the Wicked Tenants, Jesus shows Israel’s long history of rejecting the prophets and, finally, the Son. Joel argues that God chose the most stiff-necked people to show the full extent of His grace. We also take on the “third way” teaching that unbelieving Jews still hold some covenant standing with God apart from Christ. Women Hate The Apostle Paul For This Simple Reason
What does Paul mean when he says a woman “will be saved through childbearing”? Egalitarians say the verse is only about the birth of Christ. Conservatives like John Piper and Denny Burk soften it into physical safety or general homemaking. We argue both stop short of what the text actually says. Starting from Psalms 127 and 128, we walk through the creation mandate, the blessing of children, and Paul’s command in 1 Timothy 2:15. We show how it fits James’ teaching that true saving faith is never alone. Then we take on the growing trend of pitting Paul against Jesus, and the misuse of 1 Corinthians 1 to shield false teachers from criticism.
