Meredith and Orsino stand on the steps of the Chantry, one determined to call on Elthina for fairness and compromise, the other refusing to see how out of hand her hatred has gotten. There is no more time for compromise as the chantry erupts in beams of violent, red light, destroying the building and killing anyone inside. It's time to choose. The templars or the mages? Who does Hawke support? In the end, does it really matter? An ethereal golem takes her life and nearly takes ours, revealing the small piece of the idol that once drove Bartrand mad. Varric is convinced it would help Bartrand.
