#525 - 🇬🇧 Do I Need my Income to Survive? Faith-raising vs. Fundraising

What is the true purpose of stewardship ministries in the church? Is it about balancing budgets and funding operations, or preparing hearts for eternity? In this advisory presentation, leadership from General Conference Stewardship, Treasury, and Planned Giving & Trust Services (PGTS) discuss their collaborative vision for church giving. Moving away from a transactional "fundraising" mentality, this session explores how biblical stewardship serves as a spiritual discipline designed to raise faith rather than just raise money. Through candid personal testimonies—including navigating hyperinflation, pay cuts, and radical generosity—Marcos Bomfim confronts a pivotal question: Does God need our salary for us to survive, or is He asking us to trust Him completely? > In this episode, you’ll discover: Faith Raising vs. Fundraising: Why the goal of stewardship is bringing people to heaven, not filling church safes. The 5 Pillars of the Stewardship & Treasury Partnership: Connecting spiritual growth, worship through giving, and mission witness. Donation vs. Worship: The fundamental shift from seeing ourselves as "donors" to recognizing God as the true owner of everything. Redefining Success: Why leadership should measure member participation and generosity rather than just total dollars collected. Building Member Trust: The critical role of transparent communication, annual church audits, and sharing frontline mission stories instead of dry financial reports. Guarding Young Hearts: How regular and systematic giving protects youth from worldliness and anchors their commitment to God. Key Scriptures Referenced: Matthew 6:19–21, Galatians 2:20, and 1 John 2:15–17. This theme was presented during the 2026 General Conference Planned Giving & Trust Services Advisory, at the General Conference Headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, on February 23, 2026. 📌 Subscribe to stay updated on faith, ministry leadership, and biblical stewardship. #521 - Sacrificando a Segurança

#519 - 🇬🇧 COP Implementation and Maintenance (EUD)

How should the Combined Offering Plan (COP) be implemented—and, even more importantly, maintained over time? Presented on February 3, 2026, during the Inter-European Division Treasurers Meeting at the Collonges school campus in Collonges-sous-Salève, France, this presentation explores the biblical, theological, administrative, and educational foundations necessary for a successful implementation of the Combined Offering Plan. The COP is not simply a new method for allocating offerings. It is a stewardship system designed to promote a biblical understanding of giving, rooted in the recognition of God as the Owner and Provider of all things. Its purpose is not primarily fundraising, but worship: helping church members develop habits of regular and systematic giving within a God First framework. The presentation highlights four essential pillars for implementing and maintaining the COP: Biblical and theological foundations — understanding stewardship, the God First principle, offerings as an expression of worship, the storehouse system, and the reflex influence principle. Accounting and administrative processes — adapting offering envelopes and electronic giving systems, training treasury personnel and local church treasurers, and using appropriate technological tools. Transparency and accountability — providing understandable information about how tithes and offerings are used, strengthening auditing and reporting, and ensuring that members’ questions are welcomed and answered. Permanent education — recognizing that changing a giving mindset is a long-term process requiring continuous training of administrators, pastors, treasurers, elders, and church members. Particular attention is given to the role of the Stewardship director, the importance of training pastors before implementation, monitoring participation rather than merely financial growth, and using the offering moment as a “golden time” for stewardship education (you can access the Offertory Devotional Videos here: https://stewardship.adventist.org/weekly-offertory-videos). The presentation concludes with a proposed six-phase implementation protocol, moving from administrators and department directors to pastors, treasury and audit personnel, local church treasurers, church leaders, and finally the broader church membership. The central message is simple: implementing the COP is not merely changing where offerings go; it is helping people change how they understand giving, worship, and their relationship with God. Presented by Marcos Bomfim, Director of Stewardship Ministries, General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

#515 - 🇬🇧 God First: Why in The Morning?

Putting God First: The Power of Seeking God Early What would change in your life if you truly put God first—not only in principle, but as the very first priority of every day? In this episode, Marcos Bomfim explores the biblical pattern of seeking God early in the morning. From Abraham, Moses, David, Job, and the prophets to the perfect example of Jesus Himself, Scripture repeatedly highlights the blessings that come from beginning the day in God's presence. Discover why the first moments of the day shape the direction of our thoughts, strengthen our spiritual lives, and help us develop a lasting habit of communion with God. Drawing from personal experience, practical insights, and the writings of Ellen White, Marcos shares how this simple yet powerful discipline can transform your relationship with God and equip you to face life's daily challenges with His strength. If you've struggled to maintain a consistent devotional life, this episode offers both biblical encouragement and practical motivation to make seeking God your first priority—every morning.

#513 - 🇬🇧 Why Obedience Is Not Enough—The Miracle of Delight

This episode invites you to walk verse by verse through Psalm 1. It reveals that the greatest miracle described in this psalm is available for everyone. This miracle has nothing to do merely with obedience to God's Law—it is to find delight in obeying it. Left to ourselves, we cannot find delight in what we don't prefer. We may imitate religion, obey outwardly, and even serve in the church, while our hearts remain unchanged. The problem is not simply our behavior; it is our (sinful) nature. Discover how the righteous are enabled to refuse the counsel of the wicked, what it means to meditate on God's law day and night, why delight cannot be manufactured by willpower, and how Ezekiel's promise of a new heart unlocks the meaning of Psalm 1. This message is an invitation to stop pretending before God, come to Christ as a sinner, and experience the transforming work of the Holy Spirit—the only One who can replace a heart of stone with a heart that truly delights in the Lord. Key passages: Psalm 1; Ezekiel 36:26–27; Romans 12:1–2; 1 John 1:9. This devotional was presented by Marcos Bomfim during the Inter-European Division Treasurers’ Advisory on February 03, 2026.

    #510 - A Lealdade e o Prato - Alimentação e Implicações Eternas

Many Christians think of offerings mainly as donations given to support the church. The Bible presents a profoundly different perspective. In this episode, we begin with the book of Malachi, exploring its historical setting, God's covenant love, and the prophet's call to wholehearted worship. From there, we examine Malachi's rebuke of compromised worship and discover how it lays the foundation for a biblical theology of offerings. Rather than viewing offerings as merely charitable donations, Scripture presents them mainly as acts of worship—grateful responses to God's prior provision. We explore the biblical principles of regular and systematic (proportional) giving, the significance of the storehouse, and the relationship between offerings and the mission of God's people. The episode also explains the theological foundation of the Seventh-day Adventist Church's representative system of finance and the Combined Offering Plan, showing how these principles support local, regional, and worldwide mission in harmony with Acts 1:8. Drawing on Malachi, Proverbs 3, 1 Corinthians 16, Malachi 3, and Acts 1:8, this study invites pastors, church leaders, and church members to see every blessing as an opportunity to honor God. Instead of giving merely in response to the church's needs, we are called to worship the God who gives first.
