FROM UNSEEN TO UNSHAKABLE KRISTY McDOWELL STORY

In this powerful episode of Dear Christian Women, we sit down with Kristy, whose journey is a beautiful testimony of how God can take a life marked by addiction, rejection, and feeling unseen and transform it into a life filled with purpose, freedom, and ministry. Growing up, Kristy often felt unseen, unimportant, and like she didn’t truly matter. Those deep feelings of insecurity and searching for belonging eventually contributed to her falling into addiction. Her addiction took her places she never imagined, but God was never finished with her story. Kristy eventually entered Adult & Teen Challenge in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her first experience was not the end of the story. When she returned to Teen Challenge for the second time, something happened that changed everything Kristy met her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her encounter with Jesus transformed not only her recovery, but her entire life. What once felt like a life without purpose became a life surrendered to God. For 16 years, Kristy has been clean, free from addiction, and passionately loving and serving Jesus. Even more incredibly, about 15 years ago, while she was at Teen Challenge, God gave Kristy a vision that she would one day be serving in ministry. Today, she is living out that very vision. Kristy now serves in ministry through The Covering, a faith based residential program dedicated to helping women and families experience genuine transformation through Jesus Christ. Kristy now gets to pour into others from a place of personal experience helping women who may feel the same way she once did: unseen, forgotten, and unimportant. Her story has come full circle. The woman who once struggled to believe she mattered is now helping other women discover that they matter to God, they have a purpose, and freedom through Jesus is possible. CONNECT WITH KRISTY: MORE ABOUT THE COVERING: https://www.instagram.com/thecovering686 https://www.thecovering686.org/ The Covering is a 12-month faith-based residential program, with optional transitional housing where participants can have their children live with them. The program is designed around a family setting and is rooted in the biblical truth of Psalm 68:6: β€œGod sets the lonely in families.” The Covering exists for women who are seeking true change, healing, freedom, and a new way of life. MINISTRY MINDED MISSION HE CALLS US TO MINISTER

Serving in ministry is one of the greatest privileges God gives His people but it is also one of the greatest places where discouragement, exhaustion, and spiritual fatigue can creep in. In this SHORT SERIES of Dear Christian Women, we journey through GODS WORD to discover God's heart for those He has called to serve His Church and reach a broken world. If you've ever questioned whether your labor is making a difference, felt overlooked, battled burnout, or wondered if it's time to step away, this episode is for you. God has not called us to grow weary, but to remain faithful, steadfast, and rooted in Christ. The very places where Jesus brought healing, freedom, and restoration into our own lives often become the places He calls us to minister to others. Our testimony becomes someone else's hope, and our past pain becomes a platform for God's glory. Together we'll be reminded that ministry is not about striving in our own strength but abiding in Christ, walking worthy of the calling we've received, and allowing the Holy Spirit to sustain us as we serve. Through the truths found in Ephesians, we'll be encouraged to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, stay the course, and continue building His Kingdom with love, humility, and endurance. Whether you serve in your local church, lead a Bible study, disciple others, volunteer behind the scenes, or simply desire to be faithful wherever God has placed you, this episode will encourage you to press on and remember that your labor in the Lord is never in vain. Where is God calling you to faithfully serve today, even if no one else seems to notice? Has burnout, discouragement, or disappointment caused you to lose sight of the mission God has entrusted to you? How might God be inviting you to minister to others from the very places where He has brought healing and transformation in your own life? LOVE LIKE 1 CORINTHIANS 13

Loving others isn't always easy. In fact, some days it feels impossible. Whether we've been hurt, disappointed, misunderstood, or betrayed, our natural response is often to protect ourselves. But Jesus calls us to something far greater to love as He loved us. In this episode of we explore what it truly means to love like Christ. Loving others requires surrendering our pride, denying our flesh, extending grace when it's undeserved, and depending on the strength of Christ instead of our own. We simply cannot love the way Jesus loves apart from Him. Together we'll unpack the beautiful truth of 1 Corinthians 13, where Scripture reminds us that love is patient, kind, humble, selfless, and enduring. This isn't just a description of love it's a picture of Christ Himself and the kind of love the Holy Spirit produces in us as we walk with Him. Join us as we discover how Jesus empowers us to love difficult people, forgive freely, and reflect His heart in a world that desperately needs His love. Is there someone God is calling you to love that you've been struggling to love? In what areas is Christ asking you to deny your flesh so His love can shine through you? THOUGHT CAPTIVE TO CHRIST WITH DEANNA BECKET

What does it truly mean to take every thought captive to Christ? And how can we tell the difference between the Holy Spirit's conviction and the enemy's condemnation? In this encouraging episode we welcome Deanna Becket an Amazon bestselling author professional keynote speaker, and Life, Leadership, Health, and Freedom Coach. With a gift for blending humor, heart, and biblical truth, Deanna has spent years encouraging others to persevere through life's challenges, develop Godly discipline, and walk confidently in the purpose God has for their lives. Drawing from her experiences in leadership, business, homeschooling, and faith, she inspires others to keep their eyes fixed on Christ and shine for His glory. In this honest and hope filled conversation Deanna shares about what Scripture means when it calls us to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, how to identify the lies of the enemy, replace them with the truth of God's Word, and renew our minds through the power of the Holy Spirit. Together we unpack one of the most important distinctions every believer should understand: the difference between conviction and condemnation. While the Holy Spirit lovingly convicts us, leading us toward repentance, freedom, and restoration, condemnation brings shame, guilt, fear, and hopelessness WHICH never comes from God. If you've ever struggled with negative thoughts, spiritual warfare in your mind, guilt from your past, or discerning God's voice from the enemy's accusations, this episode will encourage you to stand firm in the truth of God's Word and walk in the freedom Christ has already won for you. CHRIST EMPOWERED

In a world filled with self help gurus, motivational influencers, and endless messages telling us to "find the power within," where does true empowerment actually come from? This episode dives into the life changing truth that our strength isn't found in our pain, our performance, or our personal determination but in Jesus Christ. Because of His incredible love, Jesus willingly sacrificed Himself on the cross, defeated sin and death through His resurrection, and gave us the Holy Spirit to dwell within every believer. Through His unfailing Word, His Spirit, and His finished work on the cross, we are EMPOWERED with a supernatural resurrecting power that no motivational speech, mindset shift, or human philosophy can ever produce. While modern culture often profits from our insecurities and encourages us to build ourselves up through struggle, Christ calls us to surrender our weakness and receive His strength. Human motivation fades with circumstances, but God's power is eternal, transforming us from the inside out and equipping us to live victoriously through every trial. Join us as we uncover the difference between temporary inspiration and the everlasting power of God a power that doesn't simply motivate us to survive but resurrects us to truly live. Are you relying on temporary motivation, or have you experienced the supernatural power that only Jesus Christ can give? What would change in your life if you truly believed that God's Spirit is stronger than your greatest weakness? Are you striving to empower yourself, or are you allowing Christ's resurrection power to transform you from the inside out? JESUS CHANGES EVERYTHING

What happens when an encounter with Jesus changes not just parts of your lifeβ€”but everything? In this episode, we talk about the radical transformation that happens in Christ. The old life no longer defines us. The labels, the brokenness, the patterns of sin, the searching, and the person we once were do not get the final word . Jesus does. Through Him, we become new creations, renewed from the inside out and called into a new identity. Sometimes the transformation is so deep that people who knew the old version of us don’t fully recognize who we’ve become and that’s the beauty of redemption. The world may remember who we were, but Christ reveals who we are becoming. His light shines through us, changing our desires, renewing our minds, and leading us into freedom, purpose, and a life that reflects Him. This episode is a reminder that redemption isn’t behavior modification it’s complete transformation. Jesus doesn’t simply improve us; He makes all things new. β€œTherefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come.” β€” 2 Corinthians 5:17 What is something Jesus has transformed in your life that you never thought could change? Are there old labels, identities, or sins you still carry that Christ is calling you to release? If someone looked at your life today, would they see evidence of the transforming light of Jesus?
