    SPENDING SOME TIME WITH FALL

Many people come to the mountains to experience the splendor of the fall foliage. Yet, many miss the valuable benefit of taking time to be one with Nature. When one does that, no matter the season, no matter how long, it is possible to feel refreshed and ready to reenter the flow of life. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

I WONDER WHAT SHAPES THE CLOUDS

Did you ever wonder what shapes the clouds? I do, especially when the form has meaning to me. Is it by accident or is there a spiritual energy involved? It is like synchronicities in life. Do they happen by accident or by some grand design? www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    THE FIRST SNOW

The first snow of the season covered the top of Mount Washington, and, although there will be warm spells ahead, it is a warning that it won’t be long before the snow covers the foothills. I was grateful to see the snow and the still colorful foliage on the mountains below. Nature can give us a lot of beautiful moments when we look for them. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    LOOKING DOWN ON THE WORLD

Standing on top of the mountain, I can look down on the world below me which includes a small pond ringed by miniature houses. I am reminded of my grandmother’s tiny Christmas village with its cotton snow covered landscape. In life it is good to be able to look at situations from a distance as well as from the ground level. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    LOOKING FOR LUCK

Lots of people will search for a four-leaf clover, considered to be a symbol of good luck. Is luck random, or is it more than that? Is it possible that our intention sends out energy to attract either positive or negative luck? I think there may be more to luck than just luck. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    DEFINING THE EDGES

Lori has been spreading much of the big load of woodchips over landscaping fabric and defining the edges of the paths in the gardens at the Center. Her efforts will help keep the weeds down next summer, allowing visitors to focus on the beauty of the flowers. It is good to define the paths we travel in our Soul’s map, so we don’t stray off course from our life purpose. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    ON BORROWED TIME

The barrel planter in Barbara’s Garden is filled to the rim with beautiful annual flowers. They are living on borrowed time as there will be a killing frost in the near future. I intend to enjoy them while they are still blooming. Knowing that life situations may change, we have the choice of living in fear or appreciating the positive moments. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    DRESSED FOR FALL

A patch of wild blueberries in a corner of the Lupine Field is now dressed up in fall colors. I wonder how many people hike on by with their attention focused on the other leaves and miss the show right under their feet. It is easy to miss people with hidden abilities that are a major part of the landscape of life. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

THE FIRST COUPLE WEEKS IN OCTOBER

Many people consider the first couple of weeks in October to be the best time of the year. The foliage is at its peak, and the weather is still relatively warm. My intention is to find the good in each month as well as each day. A positive attitude can help us smooth out the not so positive times of the year. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    PRESTO CHANGE-O

We had been waiting and waiting for the leaves to color up, and it wasn’t until after a couple days of rain that, “presto change-o”, a magical change in the foliage took place. Sometimes in life we wait and wait, and then, all of a sudden, a change happens. The key is to concentrate on the positive instead of the negative. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    THE FLOW IS BACK

We have had a lot of rain recently from the northeaster that slowly made its way up the coast. The water is flowing in the little brook that passes by our house and helps relieve the summer dry spell. People can go through dry spells in their lives when their creativity seems non-existent. At least we can reach out to our Source and give thanks for helping to break our dry spells. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    COUNTING THE SHADES OF GREEN

Milton Erikson told one of his patients to go out and count the shades of green in grass. I imagine the patient must have had a very narrow view of life and saw green as only one shade. By counting the shades of green, hopefully the patient became aware that there was more than just his view of life www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    MUMS THE WORD

Lori put three beautiful well-rounded mums at the Center’s entrance where their silent beauty greets all. To get into their fall shape, they had had several prunings over the summer. Many people go about their lives silently making adjustments when called for. It is good to be quietly flexible. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    ANOTHER SEASONAL FAVORITE

I watched the succulent stonecrop grow all summer, and now it has finally turned red, brightening up the landscape. It is possible that people visiting could miss its beauty if they are preoccupied. Life has many seasonal favorites waiting for us to celebrate them. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    FINDING PLEASURE

I get great pleasure in finding things in Nature that brighten up the landscape, like the last of the bee balm flowers hanging on until a killing frost. This form of pleasure is what I call heart-based rather than ego-based. The ego is never really satisfied, where the heart finds great joy in sharing positive energy with others. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    COLORING UP THE LANDSCAPE

Nature has its paintbrush out and is beginning to color up the landscape. It won’t be long before this vibrant artwork will be at its peak and draw thousands to the mountains to view the show. People always can color the landscape of others with kind words and positive acts of kindness no matter what the season of life. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    A LITTLE MORE ON INTENTIONS

A very important component in an intention is believing in a positive purpose for setting it in the first place. Essentially that has been our positive intention ever since the Mountain decided we would be its steward. The same is true for any intention we set in life, believing that if it comes from the heart, our Source is with us to help it become a reality. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    PROGRESS BEGINS WITH INTENTION

I wanted to clear new growth away from a storage shed before it totally blocked the access, so I spent a couple of hours on two afternoons to slowly clear away the growth. The beginning of a success begins with setting intentions and then giving yourself permission to follow through. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    IT'S OVER

The fall equinox arrives today, so summer is officially over. There have been hints of change for those who pay attention. We also get hints of changes about to take place in our lives, so knowing that helps us prepare. Some people do not want to change and get caught unprepared. Embracing change can also provide many new opportunities. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show

    THOUGHTS ON SWEETNESS

The pink clover blossoms still in bloom reminded me of the sweetness I experience in life, like the maple syrup I drizzle on my gluten free French toast in the morning. There is a lot of non-edible sweetness in life like a warm friendly smile from someone at a time when it brightens their day. www.michaelhathaway.com Support the show
