TWOCPT Ep. 88 | What Is Consciousness? Part 5: AI — Intelligence Without a Soul?

Can artificial intelligence truly think—or is it simply reflecting the humans who created and trained it? In Part 5 of TWOCPT’s six-part “What Is Consciousness?” series, MJ takes a deep dive into the history and evolution of AI, human influence, political and corporate power, technology dependence, and the growing role artificial intelligence plays in our everyday lives. From early AI research to today’s generative systems, MJ asks a bigger question: If a machine can reason, communicate, recognize patterns, and imitate human thought, does that make it conscious? ManTalk133 -Fortitude To Finish!.

The Fortitude To Finish! Starting something is exciting. When you announce your new vision, people congratulate you. When you launch your business, ministry, book, podcast, fitness journey, or new chapter, everybody sees your enthusiasm. But what happens when the excitement disappears? What happens when people stop clapping? What happens when the results take longer than you expected? What happens when the assignment becomes difficult, expensive, lonely, inconvenient, or painful? That is when motivation is no longer enough. You need fortitude. Fortitude is the courage and strength to continue through difficulty, adversity, discomfort, and delay. It is the inner determination that says: “I may be tired, but I am not finished.” “I may need to rest, but I will not surrender.” “I may have to change my strategy, but I will not abandon my assignment."

Oscar Mike Radio – 508 – Neil Adams - FROM THE PILE

In this episode of Oscar Mike Radio, I had the privilege of speaking with Neil Adams, author of From the Pile, a book that honors the life and legacy of his friend Michael Dorian, a 9/11 first responder whose story reminds us that courage and service can take many forms. Michael was HIV-positive and immunocompromised, but when America was attacked on September 11, 2001, he volunteered to help at Ground Zero. Working alongside firefighters in the dust and debris, Michael used saline to flush contaminants from their eyes—doing whatever he could to help those working on the pile. A veterinary technician and volunteer NYPD officer, Michael had lived a complicated and sometimes turbulent life. His story wasn't one of perfection. It was one of perseverance, friendship, courage, and ultimately redemption.
