Answers with Ken Ham - According to Their Kinds

This is Ken Ham, head of the ministry that built a full-size Noah’s Ark south of Cincinnati. When you think of creation, do you picture Adam surrounded by tigers, polar bears, wolves, and other modern animals? Well, let’s look at what Scripture says. Genesis tells us God created life to reproduce according to its kind. Later, we’re told Noah was to take animals according to their kinds on the ark. Researchers have determined that, in most cases, “kind” is equivalent to family in our modern classification system. That means there was a cat kind, a bear kind, and a dog kind at the beginning, not all the species we have today. Species—like tigers, lions, and cougars—are the result of speciation since the flood. Ben Young Daily Podcast - Live Ready

Getting a house ready for someone to visit usually means taking a closer look at what's inside. Some things need to be thrown away, others can be given away, and a few are worth holding on to. Jesus uses a similar picture when He challenges us to live ready for His return. Rather than worrying about when that day will come, we can focus on what needs to change in our lives right now—letting go of unhealthy patterns, giving generously, and holding tightly to the things that strengthen our faith.
