I Am Who I Am — My Testimony of Sin, Struggle & Grace
In my most personal episode yet, I open up about my troubled past, walking away from Mormonism, the people who shaped me, and how God brought me to the Arizona desert to draw me closer to Christ. No sugarcoating. No pretending I'm perfect. Just my story of sin, struggle, and God's grace. If you've ever felt too far gone for God, this one's for you. All glory to Jesus Christ.

The King God Rejected… But Did He Save Him?
King Saul disobeyed God, tried to murder David, consulted a medium, and died under God's judgment. And I believe he's in heaven. Crazy? Maybe. But what does Scripture actually say? In this episode of Iron & Oak, we're digging into the lives of Saul, Samson, David, and other biblical figures who made terrible decisions but may not have lost their salvation. We'll examine 1 Samuel 28, 1 Corinthians 11, and the difference between God's discipline and eternal condemnation. Can a saved man die in rebellion and still have eternal life? Does losing everything mean you've lost your salvation? We're challenging popular beliefs, opening our Bibles, and reminding those who've fallen that God's grace is greater than their failures. You might disagree with me. That's fine. Just bring Scripture.

Can a Broken Man Preach the Truth?
What happens when the guy behind the microphone is still fighting his own battles? In this episode of Iron & Oak, we talk honestly about sin, hypocrisy, repentance, and sanctification—and why struggling with sin doesn’t mean God is finished with you. This isn’t a message from a perfect man. It’s from a man who needs the same Savior he talks about. Not perfect men. Men being forged.

Resistance Doesn't Mean You're Going The Wrong Way
Resistance is not always a warning sign. Sometimes it's proof you're walking the right road - and this episode challenges the instinct to quit the moment obedience gets costly. If you've ever wondered whether opposition means you missed God's will, Luke offers a grounded, Scripture-first way to tell the difference between real conviction and simple fear, pride, or people-pleasing. He uses the realities of trade work - checking the drawing, verifying the measurements, staying with the job when it fights back - to build a powerful case for spiritual perseverance when life gets hard.

The real reason I started Iron and Oak
The strongest men aren’t the ones who have it all figured out - they’re the ones willing to be built. Lucas Nelson opens up about the journey from hard work and outward success to the deeper calling of becoming the husband, father, and man God intends. Raised in the Mormon church, shaped by doubt, and later finding Christ in a way that changed everything, Lucas shares why he created *Iron and Oak*: a space for men to open the Bible, ask hard questions, and sharpen each other instead of pretending they already have the answers. You’ll hear Lucas unpack: - why providing a paycheck is only the beginning of biblical manhood - the difference between building a career and building character - why brotherhood and accountability are essential for men who feel stuck - how faith reshapes the way you lead at home, work, and in your own heart - what it means to be strong, humble, and surrendered at the same time Lucas speaks directly to husbands, fathers, workers, and anyone quietly wrestling with purpose, faith, or identity. If you’ve ever felt like you know how to grind but still don’t know how to become the man you want to be, this conversation meets you right there. *Iron and Oak* is a call to stop performing and start becoming. If you want honest conversation, biblical truth, and a challenge to grow into the man you were created to be, this Podcast is for you.
