Is Your Life Cheapening the Work of the Cross?
Is your life cheapening the finished work of the cross? In this sobering and challenging message, Stewart Green opens Zephaniah 1:7-18 and confronts the danger of complacency, lukewarm faith, and part-time Christianity. God is purifying His bride. He wants us match-fit — not just surviving the dark and testing days ahead, but thriving. This is a personal call to get right with the Lord in every area of life, stop using grace as a licence to sin, and live fully for Jesus. Key themes in this sermon: - Complacency leads to disaster (“settled on their lees”) - Living in freedom from sin, not freedom to sin (Romans 6) - Areas that cheapen the cross: lack of commitment, gossip, addiction, lack of evangelism, laziness, failing to contend for truth, sexual immorality, materialism, body image, undermining the value of life, offence, and pride - The window of opportunity is open — but it will close - Hope for those who repent: purification and blessing (Zephaniah 2 & 3) Jesus gave everything on the cross. The least we can do is decide to live fully for Him. This is no time for half-heartedness or waiting until tomorrow. Scriptures referenced: Zephaniah 1:7-18, Zephaniah 2:1-3, Zephaniah 3:9-20, Romans 6, Ephesians 5:8, Colossians 2:9-10, Hebrews 10:25, Matthew 28:19-20, and others. If the Lord is speaking to you about something that is cheapening the work of the cross in your life, don’t ignore it. There is no shame in coming in repentance. Jesus is ready, willing, and waiting to help you. -- We are East Gate Church Elderslie - a vibrant and awake church in Elderslie, Scotland reaching the local community and beyond with the love and hope of Jesus. Church Unity: Why Gossip & Criticism Kills the Blessing
Church unity is not optional — it is essential for the blessing of God. In this honest and challenging message, Pastor Arthur O’Malley speaks directly into the issues of gossip, whispering, criticism, and division that quietly damage churches. Drawing from Psalm 133, Proverbs 18, and the words of Jesus in John 6, he shows why the tongue has the power of life and death, and why God bestows His blessing where brothers and sisters dwell together in unity. He also shares a personal testimony of falling out with a mentor and the conviction that led him to seek forgiveness — a powerful reminder that critical spirits hurt us more than they hurt others. Key themes: Why unity attracts the blessing of God (Psalm 133) The danger of gossip and “Chinese whispers” in the church How personal opinions can become division Jesus’ response when people were offended and left (John 6) Leading with humility and choosing to build rather than tear down If you’ve ever been hurt by church politics, struggled with criticism, or simply want to see greater unity where you are, this message is for you. Watch and be challenged to protect unity. 📖 Scripture References Psalm 133 Proverbs 18:8, 18:21 Mark 9:38–41 John 6:60–69 Hebrews 4:12 -- We are East Gate Church Elderslie - a vibrant and awake church in Elderslie, Scotland reaching the local community and beyond with the love and hope of Jesus. From Wilderness to Living Water
On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood up and cried out: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.” This message walks through the Feast of Booths — also called Sukkot, Tabernacles and the Feast of Ingathering — and why it still speaks to the Church today. We look at: • temporary shelters and God’s provision in the wilderness • joy after repentance — from the Days of Awe to celebration • the harvest, thanksgiving and our dependence on God • the sukkah roof and learning to look up • the water-drawing ceremony and Jesus as living water (John 7) • Simchat Torah — dancing with the Word who became flesh • the hope of Israel and the coming of the Messiah Saturday 3 October is the last great day of this feast. Join us for Let the Fire Fall Conference — come hungry for living water, not for personalities. Book: https://eastgatechurch.co.uk/fire-fall-conference Scripture: Leviticus 23 · John 1 · John 4 · John 7:37–39 · Psalm 133 -- We are East Gate Church Elderslie - a vibrant and awake church in Elderslie, Scotland reaching the local community and beyond with the love and hope of Jesus. The Autumn Feasts & Jesus’ Second Coming
The autumn feasts are not just Jewish history — they are God’s calendar for the second coming of Jesus. In this message, Pastor Arthur O’Malley walks through the Days of Awe, the Day of Atonement and the Feast of Tabernacles, and shows how Moses, David and the high priest were all shadows of the one true Deliverer, King and High Priest. You’ll hear: • Why the spring feasts pointed to the first coming — and the autumn feasts point to the return • How God sheltered Israel in Egypt while His wrath fell on Pharaoh • The power of standing in the gap (Moses, intercession, Scotland and Israel) • Zechariah 12: the day Israel looks on the One they pierced • Romans 11: a partial hardening until the fullness of the Gentiles — then all Israel will be saved • Why “Jesus can come back any moment” doesn’t fit the pattern of Scripture • A call to self-examination, repentance and applying the blood of the Lamb Time is short. Get ready. The King is coming. -- We are East Gate Church Elderslie - a vibrant and awake church in Elderslie, Scotland reaching the local community and beyond with the love and hope of Jesus. Don’t Give the Devil a Foothold | “Did God Really Say?”
"Did God really say"? That one question was the first deception in history. The serpent did not need a full lie. He only needed a foothold. Once Eve answered the door, the rest of Genesis 3 was already in motion. In this message, Stewart Green opens Genesis 3 and shows how the devil still works the same way today — sowing doubt, mixing truth with a lie, making sin look better than obedience, then leaving shame and separation behind. If you have been entertaining thoughts you should have shut down, battling the same sin, or hiding from God, this word is for you. In this message we look at: • Genesis 3 — the first deception and the fall • Proverbs 4:23 — guard your heart; it is the doorway of your life • 1 John 4:1 — test the spirits • James 1:13–16 — how desire gives birth to sin • James 4:7 — submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee • Romans 6:23 — the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life • Revelation 3:20 — Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart You are not subject to the devil by default. Do not pretend he is not there. Do not get up to answer the door. The devil wants to keep you trapped in Genesis 3 — despair, hopelessness and death. God wants you to read on, all the way to Revelation 3. Jesus is walking in the garden of your life today, calling out, “Where are you?” Will you come out of hiding? -- We are East Gate Church Elderslie - a vibrant and awake church in Elderslie, Scotland reaching the local community and beyond with the love and hope of Jesus. Empty Churches, Isolated Saints, and the Battle for the Next Generation
Why are so many churches in Scotland empty? It is not only a numbers problem. Faith stopped being transferred. Fellowship became tea after the service. And the next generation was never really introduced to Christ. In this message we open Scripture on what fellowship actually is — a deep spiritual connection among believers united in Christ, not small talk. We look at 2 Corinthians 6 and the danger of being unequally yoked, Hebrews 10 on not forsaking assembling, and 1 John 1 on fellowship with the Father and the Son through the Word. If you are isolated, new to faith, raising young people, or watching the shaking of the nations and wondering how the church survives the last days, this word is for you. No one stands alone. Fellowship is how we survive and thrive. -- We are East Gate Church Elderslie - a vibrant and awake church in Elderslie, Scotland reaching the local community and beyond with the love and hope of Jesus. Open Your Eyes: The Battle Is Spiritual
There is another world we cannot see — and it is very real. In this message from Ephesians 6, Pastor Arthur O'Malley calls the church to wake up to the spiritual realm, put on the full armour of God, and stand against the schemes of the devil. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, authorities, and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Drawing from Elisha and his servant, the rebuilding of the walls in Nehemiah, and the name of Jesus as the sword of the Spirit, this sermon is a call to be strong in the Lord, stand together as the church, and fight for Scotland. Be strong in the Lord. Put on the whole armour of God. Having done all — stand. Do You Really Want to Know the Will of God?
Choosing to do God's will rather than seeking his stamp of approval for our own plans is a decision we all must make. In this stirring and challenging message, Ryan Shiavo challenges us to seek the will of God in our lives, live in total surrender to him and resolve to serve him with our whole heart, shunning the ways of the world and embracing the true freedom and fulfilment that comes from following Jesus. Drawing on Jeremiah 42-46, Ryan compares the decsions of the Israelites to ignore the warnings from God and return to Egypt that led to them facing great judgement. If this message resonates with you and stirs your heart then what will you do to follow the will of God in your life? -- We are East Gate Church Elderslie - a vibrant and awake church in Elderslie, Scotland reaching the local community and beyond with the love and hope of Jesus. What Shall We Do? "Repent, Be Baptised & Receive the Holy Spirit"
What must we do? That’s the cry that rose from the crowd when Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost. In this powerful message, Pastor Arthur O’Malley opens Acts 2:29-39 and brings a clear, Spirit-filled call: Repent. Be baptised in the name of Jesus. Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. With personal testimony, bold truth about sin and salvation, and a passionate invitation to new life, this sermon cuts to the heart. Jesus is both Lord and Messiah — and the promise of the Holy Spirit is still for you, your children, and all who are far off. If you’ve never surrendered your life to Christ… If you’re ready to leave the old life under the water… If you’re hungry for the fire of the Holy Spirit… This message is for you. 📖 Scripture: Acts 2:29-39 -- We are East Gate Church Elderslie - a vibrant and awake church in Elderslie, Scotland reaching the local community and beyond with the love and hope of Jesus. Leave Behind the Ordinary: Fan Your Faith Into Flame
Are you living an ordinary, mediocre Christian life… or are you ready to fan into flame the gift of God that is in you? In this powerful message from 2 Timothy 1, we look at Paul’s final charge to Timothy — a call to stir up the gift, reject fear and timidity, and step fully into the extraordinary life Jesus purchased for us. Paul reminds Timothy (and us) that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. Faith is meant to be lived out with boldness. Spiritual gifts are for today. The Holy Spirit wants to turn the ordinary into the supernatural. This is a call to: - Stop settling for lukewarm faith - Blow on the embers and fan the flame - Refuse to be ashamed of the gospel - Rise up in power and live effectively for the Kingdom God is calling His people out of the natural and into the supernatural. The Unseen Realm: The Battle for Your Soul
There is a real spiritual world all around us — and most of us have forgotten it exists. In this powerful message, we open the Scriptures and confront the reality of the unseen realm: angels, demons, spiritual warfare, and the very real enemy who comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). Jesus didn’t just preach — He constantly cast out demons, set captives free, and walked in authority over the powers of darkness. He then gave that same authority to His disciples… and to us. In this message you’ll discover: • Why the spiritual realm is more real than the natural world • How Jesus dealt with demonic powers throughout His ministry • The difference between possession and oppression for believers • How the enemy keeps God’s people in bondage, fear and mediocrity • Why so many are living “in the caves” instead of rising up • The call for the church to open its eyes and walk in spiritual authority again Scripture foundations include: John 10:10 | Revelation 12 | Luke 4 | Mark 1 | Mark 5 | Matthew 12 | Luke 9 & 10 | Acts 8 | Judges 6 This is not theory. This is the battle for your soul — and the soul of a nation. We do not fear the powers of darkness. Jesus has already conquered them. But we must wake up, open our eyes, and take our place. -- We are East Gate Church Elderslie - a vibrant and awake church in Elderslie, Scotland reaching the local community and beyond with the love and hope of Jesus. Gideon’s 300: God Is Sifting His Church Right Now
Is God sifting His people in this hour? In this powerful message from East Gate Church, we look at the story of Gideon’s 300 and the clear pattern God uses when He is about to move: • The Holy Spirit is being poured out — but He is looking for somewhere to land • Our nation is under siege and the enemy has come in like a flood • Much of the church is asleep or even flying the enemy’s colours • God first sends prophets to confront, then raises deliverers • He deliberately reduces the numbers so that no man can take the glory Just as God reduced Gideon’s army from 32,000 to 300, He is testing and separating His people today. He is looking for those who will stay alert, refuse fear, take ownership of the nation, and say “Here am I, send me.” This is not just history — it is a present-day call to the remnant. When Everything Is Shaking, Jesus Gives Real Peace
When the world looks chaotic… wars, rumours of wars, earthquakes, moral collapse, and technology racing toward the end times — many believers start to fear. But Jesus already gave us the roadmap. In this powerful message, we are reminded that we are not like people without hope. We know the end of the story. And because we know the end, we can lift up our heads and rejoice when these things begin to happen. Key Scriptures: • Luke 21:7-28 • John 14:27 • John 16:33 • Philippians 4:6-7 • Matthew 11:28-29 Jesus said: “In this world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” “My peace I give to you… do not let your hearts be troubled.” Peace is not the absence of trouble. Peace is the presence of Jesus in the middle of the storm. If your heart is heavy, if fear is rising, if you’re watching the news and feeling anxious — this message is for you. Come to Jesus. Are You Taking Jesus With You This Summer?
☀️🌴 Is Jesus Going on Holiday With You This Summer? Don’t leave Him behind this summer! In this powerful message from Hebrews 10:1-25, Stewart Green shows us why only Jesus will do — life without Him is not life. One Thing Is Needed: Mary, Martha & Redeeming the Time
In this powerful message, Pastor Arthur unpacks the story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10 and brings a timely word for the church today. Martha was busy serving… but she missed the moment. Mary chose “the one thing needed” — sitting at the feet of Jesus. In a world full of distractions, busyness, and endless noise, are we missing what matters most? This sermon is a call to: - Redeem the time and stop letting distractions steal our intimacy with Jesus - Choose the better part (even when it looks like we’re “doing nothing”) - Find our place and purpose in the Body of Christ - Overcome self-consciousness and step into what God has called us to do - Become a people who are hungry for His presence again Whether you’re feeling distracted, dry, or simply want to go deeper with God, this message will challenge and encourage you. 📖 Scripture: Luke 10:38-42 -- We are East Gate Church Elderslie - a vibrant and awake church in Elderslie, Scotland reaching the local community and beyond with the love and hope of Jesus. Breaking the Distraction Deception Trap
🚨 LAST DAYS WARNING: BE CAREFUL — The DISTRACTION DECEPTION TRAP is REAL! 😱 In these final days, Jesus warned us: “Be careful that you are not deceived.” But Pastor Arthur O’Malley reveals the even greater danger right now — DISTRACTIONS that are silently stealing your focus, your fire, and your first love for Jesus. From endless scrolling on your phone… to the World Cup, entertainment, and even church becoming more about performance than the presence of God — Satan’s strategy hasn’t changed since the Roman Colosseum. Keep the people distracted while the enemy runs the show. In this raw, passionate, and timely sermon you’ll discover: 🔥 Why pleasure and entertainment are the #1 weapons against the church today 🔥 A powerful real-life testimony of ministering deliverance to a broken woman named Helen who said “I just want to die” 🔥 The call to become modern-day treasure hunters — digging up the hidden glory and revival anointing God has buried in Scotland 🔥 Why we must cry out like the woman searching for the lost coin and the man who sold everything for the pearl of great price 🔥 Heartfelt prayers to open Obadiah’s caves (prophetic mantle) and Adullam’s cave (warrior spirit) over this nation again Scotland has experienced more revivals and visitations than almost any nation on earth. We haven’t lost it… it’s been HIDDEN. And God is calling His remnant to DIG IT UP! Time To Go All in for Jesus
🌟 When Ruth and Naomi heard God calling them home in Ruth 1, they didn’t hesitate. They didn’t hold back. They left the past behind and went all in. Today, Jesus is calling you to do the same. He’s not asking for part of your life — He’s calling you to leave the old life completely behind and chase after Him with everything you’ve got. And when you do, He promises to give you a brand new life. He’ll wash you clean, restore you, and transform you from the inside out. -- We are East Gate Church Elderslie - a vibrant and awake church in Elderslie, Scotland reaching the local community and beyond with the love and hope of Jesus. New Beginnings: God's Plan for Restoration
What if your “new beginning” isn’t just about trying harder or turning over a new leaf… but about restoration back to what God always intended for you? In this powerful message, Stewart Green takes us on a journey through Scripture showing how God has been writing a story of restoration through new beginnings from the very first pages of the Bible — and how water is the consistent thread in every miraculous turning point. In this sermon you’ll discover: - Why true new beginnings are about restoration, not just change - The powerful pattern of waters parting across the Bible (Creation, Red Sea, Jordan River, the Cross, and the New Jerusalem) - How Jesus is the Water of Life who brings complete deliverance and restoration - The beautiful symbolism of baptism — dying to the old self and rising into new life - A clear, hope-filled invitation: You are not too far gone. Jesus wants to part the waters that are blocking His love and purpose in your life today Whether you’re battling addiction, broken relationships, health issues, mental health struggles, or simply feel stuck — this message will remind you that Jesus is greater than your past, your present circumstances, and anything you’re facing. He’s not offering you just “a fresh start.” He’s offering you complete restoration and new life. -- We are East Gate Church Elderslie - a vibrant and awake church in Elderslie, Scotland reaching the local community and beyond with the love and hope of Jesus.
