A Conversation on Ketu with Six Black Dogs
Today, we begin by catching up on major global events. Due to requests, we discuss the devastating disaster in Nepal and the passing of our beloved Dolly Parton. Both stories reflect themes that feel especially connected to Ketu. With Sun, Mercury, and Ketu in Magha (governed by Ketu), it truly demonstrates loss, separation, and impermanence. ***At 26:31 I mention that this period can be a time of loss due to Sun, Ketu, and Mercury being in a Ketu ruled nakshatra. I meant to say MAGHA instead of Mula (: From there, we take a deeper look at Ketu. Ketu is associated with detachment, moksha, liberation, intuition, spiritual insight, and past life karma. Its placement in the birth chart can reveal where we possess awareness and familiarity, but may also experience disconnection, discontentment, or a desire to transcend worldly matters. We also explore Ketu in transit. Ketu transits can often coincide with abrupt separations, accidents, confusion, and unsettling experiences.... but also deepen perception, nostalgia, and the return of people, memories, or unresolved matters from the past. These are three foundational teachings that help us better understand our true nature, the material world, and the causes of human suffering - according to Sanātana Dharma. For the philosophers: The concept of Avidyā is clearly described in the Yoga Sutras. Full Moon May 1st in Libra: The Balance of Self and Other + Beltane!

May 1st brings a full moon in Libra, highlighting the balance between self and other.. separateness and closeness. The moon in Libra asks to us to lean into "the other" while the Sun in Aries reminds us that this is only possible with a firm connection to the self... This full moon brings relationship dynamics into focus, asking us to examine patterns, projections, and the roles we unconsciously play with friends, lovers, and collaborators. This full moon coincides with Beltane (!), the Gaelic festival of fertility, life, and sacred union. Beltane carries themes of attraction, commitment ,and the life force that draws us toward creation. It’s a celebration of polarity—masculine and feminine, self and other—mirroring the essence of Libra. New Moon in Ashwini: Inner Authority and New Beginnings
In today's segment we discuss the New Moon in Ashwini, which marks new beginnings and a fresh perspective. Ashwini is the first of the 27 nakshatras and is often associated with healing, rejuvenation, passion, and impulse. This nakshatra is fast-moving and action-oriented, so there may be a strong urge to begin something new or make a quick decision. It’s a good time for energetic intentions, but it’s important to stay mindful of impulsivity. Akshaya Tritiya is coming up on April 19th, which is traditionally associated with long-term growth and lasting results. Actions taken now are believed to have staying power. Akshaya Tritya lands on a day of intensity this year, so be sure to focus on Dharma, Service, and Sincerity. We are still working with Yama Yoga (through May 11) keeping an environment of intensity. This combination can feel restrictive or frustrating, as Mars pushes forward while Saturn slows things down. It may bring pressure, delays, or a need to take responsibility and act with more discipline. On a more exciting note, Venus will enter Taurus on April 19th, which will provide stability and sensuality.
