Cavs get a finger on CPL Shield, Dinos and Cougars dominate and a huge upset in ACAC

We review results from Calgary teams at the pro, university and college level in this episode. Cavalry FC got a bit closer to claiming the CPL regular season title on the weekend with a 1-1 draw against Forge. These matches are always full of tension. We give our thoughts. Calgary based USports teams went a perfect 8-0 this weekend. We review all of the matches, including the Dinos women beating another top 10 team in Saskatchewan, Dinos men getting some revenge on the Alberta Golden Bears and more successful results for the Mount Royal Cougars. In ACAC action, Ambrose University accomplished a massive upset on the weekend as their men's team defeated cross-town rivals SAIT Trojans. This is the first time the Lions have ever defeated the Trojans in men's soccer. The Calgary Wild are officially eliminated from the NSL playoff race as they fell to the Ottawa Rapid 3-1 on Sunday. Wild's best home performance of season, Cavalry clinches playoff spot

Mount Royal Stadium Field ready for first match, Cavalry and Wild previews

We preview Cavalry FC's match vs Pacific FC. The Cavs signed forward Hassan Ayari this week and we try to figure out how he fits into the roster. And our semi-regular U21 minutes update is back. The Calgary Wild are back at McMahon to face Halifax on Saturday. The Wild will try to keep their franchise record undefeated streak intact. The MRU Cougars will play four matches at their newly upgraded facility this weekend, starting with a match Friday between the Cougars men and the Alberta Golden Bears. Most Calgary teams are on the road this long weekend. We preview Cavalry FC as they visit Halifax to take on the Wanderers and we also talk about the Wild going to BMO Field to play AFC Toronto. The Farkhunda Muthaj saga has now reached its conclusion. The Wild announced that she will be leaving the club by mutual agreement. Cavalry tops the CPL table, Wild continue undefeated streak

We recap this weekend's action. Cavalry FC managed a 1-0 victory over Vancouver FC at Spruce Meadows on Saturday. Combined with a Forge loss, the Cavs now sit top of the table in the CPL. This is the first time this season they have done so where there have been no games in hand involved. We also have a brief discussion about Tobias Warschewski's brilliant season and if it's enough to attract any interest from MLS clubs. The Calgary Wild's unbeaten streak is now at five matches as they drew the Vancouver Rise 2-2 on Saturday at Swangard Stadium. Sarah Kelty-Dilling made her Wild debut between the sticks after waiting for her chance for a year and a half. There were no USports matches to recap from the weekend but there were a few ACAC doubleheaders. We discussed SAIT's victories over Red Deer and the Ambrose Lions matches vs Lethbridge and Olds College. The PDP Championships wrapped up in Montreal this weekend.
