Put your thoughts into the mix
PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has been calling on the fashion industry to ditch wool, with protesters even crashing New York Fashion Week. But is wool inherently cruel, or is there a difference between animal abuse and sheep being shorn for their fleece?
PETA has released footage of sheep being mistreated during shearing, but we hear from contributors from England Shearing and the National Sheep Association who describe the skill and training involved in shearing and the commitment to animal welfare.
Can certification schemes hold shearers to account? What would happen to sheep if we stopped using wool? Are alternatives to wool really any better for the environment? Plus, are Easycare sheep like those seen on Clarkson's Farm the answer?
The Jury's Out details Charlotte's obsession with neighbours (the farming ones, not the TV show!)
