So fun to welcome my friend and fellow photographer Kelly Wasenmiller to the podcast!Based in Western Washington, Kelly mainly shoots in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. In 2017, Grizzly 399 and her cubs stole her heart, and she hasn’t been the same since. Kelly’s photography captures once in a lifetime moments and the stories behind them and provides balance to her fast-paced life with kids, a career, and of course, her dog Griz. In this episode we talked about. . .

  • her journey to photography and the peace it brings to a busy life of motherhood and work
  • the privilege of photographing 399 the past several years, including when she took them to den with the quads, and how we can learn from 399’s life and story
  • the stability and reliability of the natural world compared to this fast-paced world
  • using the 5 senses to tell a story and bring our images to life
  • switching from DSLR to mirrorless
  • soaking in the awe and wonder of the magical moments in nature
  • our Yellowstone trip

Plus we had the live Q&A, speed round, and lots of laughs. Thanks to all of you who joined us live!
